He watched his son walk out. "I should have been there for the boys. I should have called, checked in with them." He rested his head on Gregs chest.
He sat down near the back steps.

he set his beer down on the railing and sat behind Nate "I love you" he said softly
"no... he loves you and he's worried sick, you need to talk to him" she said softly
he held Lance "you didn't know" he said softly "and even if you did, what could you have done?"

"I told my dad about that stupid 'step-father' that I had... the abusive one... he's convinced he could have done something from half way around the world"
she climbed in to his lap carefully "just talk to him" she kissed him softly
he shook his head "it's gone now, there all safe" he kissed Lance softly "you were half way around the world"

He stood and sat next to Maki. He wrapped his arms around him, "Well we know he cares." He spoke softly and kissed his cheek.
"Thats just it I shouldn't have been. I should have been here to protect them."
He held her and rested his head against her chest. "I don't know if I can."

"I'll be there with you" she said softly and stroked his head lightly
he nodded, grabbing his beer of the railing and taking another sip of it
"there fine now" he held Lance close to him "all you can do is be with them now..."

He took Makis beer and took a swig. "Did you grab the beer before or after you told your dad?" He hoped before. He didn't want Maki to start drinking to make his problems go away. Its a bad habit.
He barried his face in Gregs chest.
He nodded a little and sighed. He was afraid of what could happen if he tried to talk to his son.

"we won't go today, they have a lot going on right now" she said soothingly as she continued to stroke his hair softly
"it's ok" Greg kissed the top of Lance's head lightly
after I told him what Erin, Rin, Roy, and Kenta, are... but before I told him about..." he dropped the sentence and took his beer back "and since when do you drink" he smirked a little "I thought you hatted the idea of it"

She played with his hair, loving the feeling of being so close to him.

he laughed dryly and chugged the rest of it. setting the empty glass next to him and leaning on Nate
he leaned down and started to kiss her again deeply, holding her waist

She kissed him back and pulled him closer.

he sucked on her tongue lightly and played with it in his mouth as he rubbed her sides
he closed his eyes "ready for school? and finals?" he yawned a little "and proms coming up to... think we should go or do you wanna stay home with the little ones?"
