Zelyhon Streamjumper Zelyhon ...When did Basalisk get licensed? EDIT: Hmmm...Funi got it. I'll have to grab the DVDs when they're out. I'm a bit surprised, though, since Basalisk (from what I've seen, all of the first episode) seems significantly more dark than the majority of their other stuff. Funi's been picking up a lot more serious stuff these days, especially from Gonzo. They really started it up with Burst Angels and Samurai 7... Point made. I, for one, am glad to see it, even if their booth at Fanime didn't really reflect that. Ah well. Can't wait for the DVDs now. Already salivating... Remember the girl from the beginning sequence that looks like a real tomgirl? The one with the really hot lips, bouncy bits, and nice legs wearing the shorts? She is BADASS...

You know, now I wish I'd grabbed more before it got licensed. A-K's still got it up on their site, but I'm debating over it. I know I'm going to get the DVDs regardless of whether I download it or not, but I still don't like downloading fansubs of licensed series, even if I fully intend to get the DVDs anyways.

It looks like what the recent Ninja Scroll stuff SHOULD have looked like, with proper Gonzo Digimation love and care. The setting is late in the Ieasu Tokugawa shogunate, and there is a tenative peace between the Koga and Iga clans until Ieasu, under the direction of Hanzo Hattori, decides that the two clans will decide which of his two heirs take the seat by endeavoring to kill the 10 best of the other clan first. Worse yet, the permanant peace was to be sealed by the successors to each clan marrying and cementing their already developed love for one another. When it comes out of DVD, it gets priority over anything but FMP stuff unless Mazinger Z has been released on DVD.
