She nodded, she'd quite had that idea herself, though she had thought she'd be able to do a bit more than she could. Scribing runes didn't look hard but then most magics didn't. Of course studying was a large part of it. That old mantra 'crawl befor eyu can walk and walk before you can run' was a basic and integral part of any magic usage and tutelage. "In other words, I need you to do anything and Malik just has to get over the fact that I'm not going to become a Master in one day, right?" A small chuckle, "I have an absurd feeling that he may have purposely asked so much just to see me fail. Gives him a great laugh." But she sobered slightly and bowed her head. "Thank you Sevilin, for showing me somewhat of what I can do. Thank you for teaching me, however unwillingly you are."

Okay...her compliance he was finding more irritating than her failure to do so before. Why? Because she flip flopped into some sweet innocent thing...at least that's what she wanted him to think, he was sure of that. Devious, trecherous things, all of them. Just waiting for an opportunity.

"Exactly." Though he didn't comment on her further prodding on Malik's reasonings. Sevilin had personally decided not to question Malik. Not because he was his boss or that Malik was paying him but more so that Malik would pretty much not get on his case...and he didn't run the risk of pissing him off by insulting that surface trash toy of his.

A slight look to Zahara, arms crossed. "The unwilling way...I am quite used to. Save your thanks for those who can and know how to appreciate it." Fine, he'd let her believe he was falling for her trap some and not snap at her or simply scoff.

A raised eyebrow, why was he being so hostile? Oh yes, because he didn't like her, didn't like the position he was put in and didn't like her. Well that was fine she didn't like him either. So she simply tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and nodded. There was nothing left to say really and nothing much left to do so she said, "Well we have a busy day tomorrow and I have some more packing to do. I'll see you later Sevilin." Another nod and a pet for Nym and Zahara left to go wash off the blood on her arm and prepare for the journed on the morrow. She had to reverie as well and all that would take time.

With her gone his demeanor changed. Posture was less tense and he seemed the slightest bit less guarded. She made him uneasy...though that he supposed was natural for one who had lived under the boot of the female gender of his kind for almost a good five centuries. Though he didn't leave either. No he had some more scoping and mapping to do in the time that he was here.

What a lovely keep, designed by some of the most paranoid minds in all the Labyrinth. This castle was built fifty miles north, north east of Honoursfield and between two stalag(mites). The structure was built to resist the mighty blows of Storm Giants, fourty foot tall men with a taste for blungetting. The general shape of the building was the same simple cone of many a stalag(tite) with two outer rings encircling the base. Each ring was adorned with all of the familiar anti-climbing lizard defenses and widened with ramparts. The rings was enhanced by the pressence of towers which were about twice the hight of the wall. The ring system was only five miles in circumfrance. There was no gate or any pretence of a door, but along the souther face of the rings, a point with four torches burnining at what would appear to be a square patter on the outside of the ring. Above this sequence, stood Sstrl and a high elf archer named Elric. The rings were consecrated with the powers of several gods and goddesses, preventing undead energies from entering the rings or approching from withing the sphereical range covered by the rings. The consecration destroys undead coporeal forms.

Passed these secondary defenses, the primary being so secret that not even the builders knew about them, was the castle itself. It also had no door. The entire base of the complex was decorated with runes and other magical symbols designed for various purposes. The inner chambers of the castle could not be penetrated by phasing, teleportation, summoning doorways, summoning gates, wishings, miracles, alterations, time vortexes, tesseracting, and ninety-nine percent of all other magical transportational means. The interrior of the castle was also protected from most simple spellcasting in many but not all of the rooms. The main foyer was actually adorned with a Wild Magic Zone, where every spell would be altered by the atmosphere to become a random other spell. A simple light spell in this room could explode into a flash of deadly lightning centred on the caster should he attempt such a thing.

The undertunnels of the complex had been dug out an prepaired to prevent tunneling creature's from simply wondering into the basement of the complex. The majority of these were filled with natureally occuring toxic gases, of the none exploding variety. Some nasty creatures were also gathered to live in this rather unsavory tunnel system, which only spread out for ten miles underneath the keep. The creatures remained near the basement because the occassional meal was provided for them. The basement itself was actually built to provide the castle with extra support, should part or the whole of the basement collapse. The structures were buttressed with reliefs and other supports which could hold the heavy building up indefinately.

The castle chambers themselves were designed in a very paranoid drow way. The rooms had no doors or windows, and illumination was only avalible in specific rooms. The interrior was decorated with a variety of stone statues and friezes. The ground was covered with marble tiles, each one suposively enchanted but highly that was unlikely. The rooms were disconnected, except for a few with a non-disclosed location in the complex that were specifically designed for easy, human living. There were several hot springs located throughout the castle, none of which were natural. Using pipes and vents, heat from benethe the castle was transfered to these specific points.

Air shafts were present throughout the castle. They allowed accumulated heavy toxic gasses to flow freely into the basement, defeating most magical cloud attacks (should the other protections fail) as well as any natural gases that might be introduced into the castle. Strategically placed and protected braizers of air were used to provide the castle with fresh, and clean, air. These braizers also purified the oxygen.

The magical fields of this castle are not hidden or even shrunk. The radiant magics extended well beyond the realm of Deep Water, like a beacon daring invaders to attack. The rings had ten visible guards, all drow male soldiers wearing Legioneer armour, holding the body shields and the customary javelins. They were placed around the ring, as to watch outwards. They seemingly never moved nor did they burn any torches or use any decernable light sources.

Tarathiel marched beside the orc chieften, who unlike most of his followers, but not all, wore metal armour. "You know, attacking this fortress isn't a good idea, you'll get destroyed."

"Grummsh told us that if we can take this building, we can return to a surface world and rule." The orc grunted.

"Grummsh ne'er ste'ered yee wrong has He?"

"Grummsh favour Orcs, Grummsh never abandon us."

"Well, best of luck to you then." The drow bowed, and faded from sight.

The orc simply kept marching towards the fortress with his following of five hundred orcs, and two thousand kobolds. The sound of the orcish drums echoed into the deep, the spears and axes of the grunts jingles in rythme with the beat of the drum. The homesteeads unfortunately enough to be build south west of the fortress were sacked and burned to the ground. Wood was gathered to build the seige train required to sack a fortress, several towers and a few primative catapults. The battering ram was going to be specifically tackled by the shamans who accompanied this holy army.

Meilikki stood in the room she always stood in, looking straight on but not exactly sure what she was supposed to be looking at. She had only a vauge sense of the new castle's overall structure, and though she'd most lickly never see it, she was starting to wish she could. Archeticture would have been an interest, had she eyes.

"I'm assuming it's big. And it probably doesn't look like any human castle." She said to Tarathiel, when he entered.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 11, 2006 10:52 am

"Doesn't and never will. Human Castles fall down to easily. Drow inspired dwarven gaintkin buildings... not so much. I don't think I could invade it should it fall into my enemies hands, but I would never build something not even I could take down. That just spells trouble, but then agian, I am rather chaotic."

Tarathiel placed an arm on Meilikki. "Now, we are going to go there now. No ifs ands or buts about it." The drow looked behind him and waved his hand haphazzardly, which was the single to transport the pair. Within the blink of an eye, the two were standing beside Lavi several miles away from the Rings.

"Onto the dragon, Missy." Tarathiel lead Meilikki to the mount who merely cooed at her presence.

"That is good to know."

"I won't complian until I trip over a chair that isn't in it's rightful place." She smiled, felt a little dizzy after the transportation. She pat the dragon on whatever surface area her hand could reach, she wasn't really sure where except that it might have been near a leg, or stomach. But she didn't tihnk mattered. With Tarathiel's help she was on the dragon's back.

"Comfort calss, or fist class?" Refering to the dragon's mouth.

"Hold the Blind Woman class." Replied the Drow, who merely held Meilikki closely to himself, Lavi made a grunting noise similar to a jealous dog. "Oh, I still love you best buddy." He patted the side of the dragon and felt him move into a quick run.

The movement of the dragon while it was runing like a quadraped was rather smooth considering that Dragons generally don't make good mounts. They are traditionally just as likely to eat the rider as they are to eat the enemy.

Within moments, the trio was before the gate, and the sound of a bow string being drawn could be heard by those who could hear well.

"Master Elf, as much as you hate me, this task is beyond good and evil."

"Scum." Replied the hansome voice of the high elf, who spat on the ring as he spoke.

"Sstrl, open the wall." The lizardfolk merely snorted and disappeard from his post. On the opposite side of the wall, he drew a symbol with some chalk and placed a portable hole overtop of it. He then streched the hole to make an entrance large enough for Meilikki to walk in.

"Meilikki, I am sorry that I cannot personally give you a tour, but have other business to attend. Mostly, a gnomish inventoris complaining that I am not giving him enough time, and must encourage him to continue with what I need." He smiled, "Warhammer is inside somewhere, he'll take care of you."

"What a lovely class." She smiled at Lavi, as Tanundra might have done the same thing, except not out loud. She always enjoyed rides, and this one was too short. But then again, she was nervous about entering a new home, and had hoped the flight might prolong it somewhat.

She listened to the excahnge, not really concerend with any of it. Tarathiel helped her to dismount. "A tour can always wait. It will take me some time just to learn my own quarters anyway."

"Prison Cell would be a more accurate description, but a comfortable propably cause Aella to relapse into harem fear cell." Replied a rather uncoth drow. "Well, a tour later then. Later." Kimmuriel bowed, and remounted Lavi and took to the sky before Sstrl had even stepped out to guide Meilikki into the inner ring.

"Sssorry about that, He'sss rrather busssy." A strangly gentle lizard voice greated Meilikki. "Follow me, I'll take you wearr you need to be to meet Warhammer." The lizardman gently pulled Meilikki into the ring, and removed the portal. The chalk mark was gone. "I ssshould have told you, that you cannot go outssside without The Captain'sss permisssion." He paused, "You are a prisssoner her, until that captain is ccertain of your sssafety."

She gave him a bit of a look here, uncertain what to think of that comment. She waved as he left, and sighed.

"I can understand, I'm sure. Things are starting to come to a head." She rolled a stone around in her palm, one she had held onto during the flight for fear that she would somehow lose it on the way.

"I have no desire to leave, so that is one thing the Captain can stop worrying about." She followed Sstrl, although her steps were somewhat staggered. There were few people she trusted enough to guid her blindly, so to speak. Sstrl, as gentle as he seemed, was not one of them.

The second ring was opend by Warhammer, who held out his hand to Meilikki and snorted in his bull-like way. "The gentle winds of the Earth Mother's breast have summon an air of tension which can only but cut by a strong Earth made knife."

The bull looked at Sstrl who shrugged, and returned to his post.

"The Captain wishes for nothing more than to keep you safe from harm, no matter who that harm will be from. Vierna is well again, and furious as ever, that he would chose to be near a human, a blind one at that, than with her. She rouses the angre of Lloth upon us, but she will not strike. The Captain is talking to her more regullarly than ever, and even sent her a gift to lull over her rage. That all consuming lust of hers will one day defeat her pragmatic side, and she will be sundered by her mother for offences against Lloth."

"I will take you the remainder of you way to the area especially designed for your comfort. You shall endure a comfortabl prison, as I am well aware everyone has told you. I wish that such times would not fall upon the Earth Mother's children, but goddesses must allow her children the freedom to chose their own destiny, or forever be cursed."
