ohhh mind boys got problems of his own. HA i knew it. Peter you so owe me! I was RIGHT
Peter smiled questionably at James.. he wondered what was going on with him.. he wondered if James had anything against him. Being able to become a beast, he could have been just as bad in James's eyes.

Matt laughs at James.
"Can't control yourslef can you?" He says. He smokes his cigar and drinks his beer. He eats his fires and relaxes at the thought he was safe.

Veroen had been sitting quietly the entire conversation. It was as if he was not even there. Just a shadow; silent, and subtle. This of course was Veroen's nature as a Vampire Assassin. He sat next to Edith, listening quietly to the conversation, rather than partaking in it. Listening to them talk about past kills was something that Veroen would not be a part of.

Veroen had not once talked of past kills. He was old, very old, with much experience in the field of hunting Lycans, among other things. He was even forced to neutralize a Void-using Vampire long ago, and to kill a Void user, is damn near impossible. Killing Alasdair would have been difficult, maybe even impossible. But Veroen had served with many great warriors in his day, even Lycans and tainted. Some humans even were worthy of recognition.

Veroen chuckled to himself as the 4 talked of how easy it was to kill a vampire.

'Maybe grunts, but not Vampires in general are easy to kill... They are just only seeing the pawns, and not the bishops or horseman, let alone the king and queen...'
he thought to himself.

Vampires were taken much too lightly in terms of hunting and killing. Vampires still held the "high score", so to speak, of killings in the world. Not one species were more skilled in the art of murder, hunting, and killing than Vampires. It was how his species survived throughout time for so long.

Veroen simply stared off into space, until he heard James' outburst.

He glanced over at James as he took another drag off of his cigarette.

Interesting. This man obviously had another persona inside his mental state of mind. Either that, or it was indeed something more....

Veroen said nothing, but ran over different martial arts techniques and moves in his head. He had a feeling this could get out of control, and Veroen was the biggest guy out of the 5, and most likely the most capable warrior. So he knew that if anything broke out, it would be up to him to stop it before it began.

Risking Edith's life was not something on his agenda today.

((Gotta head out. Dinner and then church. I'll be on tonight, though it may be a bit later.))

(( just wondering, how tall is Veroen..? Oh and.. just for the sake of the rp.. everyone but Veroen should really stop refurring to Peter as a "kid".. its not that I mind much it's just that it sounds weird when you look at his appearance. He's an adult.. looks almost thrity at that.. and he's a bit over 200 that's why I say only Veroen could call him a kid.))

((omg it took me about tweo weeks to post back to you guys, sweatdrop i am sorry school is taking over my life gonk ))

after watching the hunter jump down and protect his client a couple days ago and taking alot of the assassins out as well he decided to find him and give him half of the pay, seeing as he did most of the work. he approached him while the hunter was taking a sip of beer. "I am sorry about not helping earlier but some vamps caught me off my gaurd while you were protecting the target" he got a wad of hundreds out of his pocket and hands it to the hunter "this is for helping my out, there is about 3,500 dallors in there" he noticed there was a man next to him, the one he saw on the rooftop earlier. he decided not to ask him any questions, he had something to do in the city. "anyway I guess we will see each other again, maybe on another mission" he waited for the hunter to respond, taking another glance at the man next to him, he smelled.... diffrent.

Matt passes Peter 1,500$ in cash. He took a sip of his beer.
"It's ok, I am grateful that you got out the vampires grasp. So David have you ever thought to join the hunters, I notice you don'nt kill humans. Miss, Eden, our leader is the one to talk to." He says. He looks at eden next to him. He hopes david doesnt make a fool of himself. He drank his beer and smoked his cigar. He watched the bar looking at all the taitned. He laughed at the fact that his dad would be so angry and probly get into a fight. He did'nt want to make a sence. His memories off the old time fade away and he wishes they did'nt. his girlfreind, his mom and his father. Dead. Why? He remebers the how he killed the vampire, so easy. How could that weakling get past his father...let alone his dog.

Peter nodded in greetings to the second hunter..
you know he's sizing you up?
'let him. he has the sense of a hunter about him, he's entitled to question his surroundings.. he is a hunter of sorts after all.. our kind don't trust much at first glance.'
ha, well.. he's got reason to feel uneasy about you.. smell that.. he's been killing alot recently...

"Excuse my manners, I'm Peter, I arrived here a night back from Europe, so I'm rather new to the city here. Has city kept you working much lately Sir?"
Peters slight English accent played around his words as he spoke.

" I have thought about joining them but..... It just dosnt really fit me" david remembered that a hunter killed one of his friends not to long ago, he was surprised that he wasnt that afraid of this hunter, perhaps it was because he was a lycan. he looked at the person named peter "well the city has been okay so far, lots of things go on so I never get bored". he was being honest about that, in fact alot things go on during the night here.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 6:12 pm

"Well, then good luck." He says. He begins to eat his fires. He talks to a hot girl behind him. Matt was such a player. He was'nt raised to be, but to fit in with the genration, "He looks like" He has too. The women slpas matt and walks away.
"Ow, That hurt." He says. He waited for another converstion to start up.

Peter raised an eye brow at Matt's behavior.. then turned back to this lycan Matt hand called David.

"Well David, It was certainly nice to meet your acquaintance. Hopefully we'll run into each other again sometime in the future. Good luck to you." Peter nodded politely to him.

(( About the kid thing, Fate. Meredith calls just about anyone a kid even when they're hundreds of years older than her. It's just how she is and sometimes it is a term of endearment while other times it is meant to be derogatory and insulting. It all depends on who she is talking to and the context. She also just says it kind of casually to be friendly. ))

"Seeing as though I talked to her a while back and had promised her some back up you can go whenever it is she decides she needs you. While you're backing her up, though, keep an eye out for that Aiden kid since it's kind of a priority to find him. Maybe he's not important to the New York Hunters per se but he's still important and he is a hunter so I don't want to condemn him to death if I don't have to. It's possible he's still alive though he's been missing ten days going on eleven so I'm not all that hopeful. Anyhow, this 'Poseidon' thing sounds like it might have a possible connection and such so you and Sed can keep tabs on that while myself and a few others can keep tabs on this Aiden kid or lack thereof." While more hunters looking for this kid would help to find him faster whether he was dead or alive she wasn't going to waste all of her resources on finding this kid. There were still jobs to be done and she could not have every single hunter off looking for some lost kid that sounded like he knew how to take care of himself perfectly fine.

"While I'm sure my other nature would absolutely adore getting some freedom I don't think the first thing on her mind would be to go on a 'beast run'. Of course I can't say for sure but it just rubs me that way and I really don't care to take it for a test drive when the thing's got a mind of it's own ... And last time I heard, corrupt was not a good thing and it certainly doesn't sound better than being coherent and able to remain in control of your thoughts and actions. I'm not into the idea of letting my wild side loose because I have no idea what it will do if it is given any leeway or freedom." As for her view on lycans, by no means did she hate them. Her brother had been a lycan and she had treated him with the utmost respect and still missed him dearly. She also didn't hate any of her lycan hunters or anything like that, simply the idea of herself being one and herself accidentally going blood thirsty and proving James right. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of killing her ...

Meredith knew for a fact that she did not trust James for one instant to keep his word to her or that there was somehow a catch to them. Her eyes depicted to him her suspicion as well as the fact that she was not by any means appeased by his statement to her. She could practically smell the lie as though it was a tangible thing or some living thing that had it's own unique scent and smell. However, she simply glowered at him and did not off to say much to him in regards to his comment at all. James was going to have to be put on a tight rope and it might very well have to be herself who followed him around and kept him out of trouble. She wasn't going to let him kill innocent lycans if they were not doing anything that even warranted killing them. That was true murder and she did not allow any of her hunters to be murderers. James probably wasn't going to like her enforcing her views by one iota but he was either going to change or get out.

Eden knew what it was to fight a true vampire as well as a simple grunt and she wasn't trying to insult vampires anymore than she had been trying to when she'd talked about some lycans running while others stood to fight. Each race had it's elites of sorts and she'd faced up against a few of them and that had proven a true challenge for her. A simple shot of a bullet did not solve everything but it certainly did help in situations where the ignorant, oblivious underlings were easy to take out. However, time seemed to help vampires, lycans and demons build immunities to the simple but deadly effects of the bullets to the point they only hindered them slightly but could never hope to take them out by sole means of shooting them. Meredith had faced up against one of the vampire elders themselves and she hadn't escaped unscathed by any means. Then again, Rogue had been pretty smashed up as well and needless to say there hadn't really been any mercy. Al and Tokeru had gone at it pretty hard too and it'd been a frightening sight that'd resulted in Las Noches being utterly destroyed. She knew what it was to face up against real power, no doubt about that. When her and Rogue fought there really hadn't been a victor.

Eden turned to address the lycan that'd appeared to give Matt some money for killing some vampires and such and protecting a client of this lycan's. She found it strange the client had been a human but she decided not to ask questions right now. However, upon Matt simply inviting some stranger to think about joining the hunters like he was able to just up and join that was when Eden chose to interject. "That and you can't just up and join the hunters whenever you feel it suits your fancy or that it'll protect you from your own evil bad pack or something. We're an organization and we're a pack unto ourselves, we don't just simply catch the drifters and trust them because they're all emo about being exhiled from their race. If you're a traitor to your own kind then good for you but that does not change the fact you're a traitor and could possibly betray us, double cross us, use us, whatever. What I'm saying in a nut shell is: you don't just get to join the hunters because you feel like it. You get to join if I decide you do."

Veroen kept his gaze off into nothingness, listening, and using other senses besides sight to depict everything that was happening in the building. He took a drag slowly, as he listened to Edith correct the two newbie hunters, and tell the other Lycan how it was, how it will and always be.

Veroen chuckled at her words, while still staring into nowhere in particular.

For some reason, he found it entertaining to hear the love of his life ordering around lower ranked individuals like she was.

He smirked to himself at the thought.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 26, 2009 11:14 pm

It was probably true that she'd undergone quite a few changes in the time that Veroen had been gone, after all, she'd come back to New York a bitter person only to be touched by Veroen. She'd been absolutely distrusting and suspicious of Veroen's concern for her when she'd first met him and yet he'd stuck with her despite her being rather nasty to him in attempts to keep him away from her. Veroen hadn't allowed her anger to completely fool him and he'd been able to catch a glimpse of her vulnerabilities and had stuck with her out of some morale obligation of his that she was grateful for now. She had eventually begun to trust him and had also sought to protect him and keep him out of harm's way as well. Even after he'd attacked her and had drained her to the point she'd begun to pass out she'd still trusted him and believed him that he hadn't meant to. He'd simply gone too long without blood and she'd accidentally set him off. At the very least he hadn't killed her.

All in all, though, despite the changes like her appearance and the whole becoming the hunter leader and a lycan to boot, she wasn't all that different. Perhaps she had become more mature but Meredith still possessed the edge to her and the zip to her that made her unique and herself. From what she could see Veroen had not changed all that much either and was quiet as ever though she was certain he'd be more talkative without an entire crowd to analyze and pay attention to. Naturally when they were alone and together she intended to ask him a little about where he had been not out of suspicion but because she wanted to know where he'd been for so long. She'd been treading closer and closer to the fact that he probably wasn't going to come back to her and then he'd just appeared to her out of the blue as if he'd somehow sensed her thoughts. Eden was grateful for him back and truly prayed that he would remain here for a while and not leave her on her own again to wonder where it was he'd gone and whether he was returning or not.

Meredith, though she did not mind hanging out with people at all, was beginning to get restless and wanted to move around and actually do something. They were here to eat, not to have a divine feast that even those who were middle class would look upon with envy and hunger. She decided to fetch the waiter in order to hastily pay him the bill, clearly impatient to leave and get out of the establishment. Of course, the restlessness was simply Meredith being Meredith. She knew that there was an MIA hunter out there and it didn't sit well with her conscience to be here enjoying herself while he might be suffering and all that fun stuff so she was eager to get going. Once she paid the bill she bid good evening to all those there and told Matt and Peter they were free to do as they pleased. However, she stopped to give James a stern stare, "You ... you're coming with us. I'm not letting you hunt by yourself until I can friggin' trust you and you've given me no reason to. You know how to track me so I expect you to catch up once you're finished with your beer."

With the bill now paid and the waiter tipped highly for his services and for listening to the four of them bicker and discuss things, she rose from her spot with an amazing amount of grace considering her condition. Once she was standing she seized Veroen's hand as though they were inseparable and began walking away, not bothering to excuse Vereen so he would either have to excuse himself or leave in silence. Though it appeared as though she'd grabbed him rather carelessly, she hadn't by any means. She was very cautious now that she wasn't angry, to remember not to crush him even though he wasn't a human and was by no means as delicate as one. If anything it'd probably been him worrying about destroying her back when she'd been a lot more frail and fragile but he'd managed to be gentle enough to keep her with minimal injuries for the most part if they could even be considered injuries.
