Ulani laughed and headed into the kitchen, where she had left the picture earlier that day. Ruel ignored her completely, and she took the picture and brought it back out to the livingroom, and handed it to Serenity first.
"That's him," she grinned. "Apparently." She laughed again.
Serenity took the picture and stared at it thoughtfully, the corners of her mouth turning up in a smile.
"It's so sweet," she murmured. She looked up at the others. "Who drew this? It's very good ..." She passed the picture off to Donovan, to let him look at it.

Donovan glanced over it and admitted it was very well done, though it did bring back the question he could not answer.
"No clue, it's certainly not Trisha otherwise the whole family wouldn't have heard the end of it.," he commented.
And the two didn't strike him as the type to voluntarily get their picture taken of this kind of... moment.

Serenity wasn't really listening to Donovan, her mind was preoccupied wither what something like this might mean. How long had it been since Elnara had returned there? She understood that there was a time difference, so it wouldn't have been as much time as had passed here - but she didn't know how long it had been. Then again, it happened that sometimes things like relationships didn't take long. Look at her own courtship - how long had that lasted? Two months? And only two more before she and Garrick had been married.
... it all seemed so long ago. Well, really, it was - but at the same time it seemed so short a time ago. There were days she spoke to Garrick, times when she felt his presence. Was he really there with her? She had no way to tell - she hadn't met anyone who had returned from the halls of Mandos, and she'd been told, years ago, that those who do return have no memories of the place, even after they regain the memories of their previous lives.
And then she wondered exactly how serious it was between Lore and Elnara. Would they find the same happiness that she and Garrick had had? She hoped so.
She also wanted to meet him, now.

Kara giggled as she snuggled against Donovan, "Well you can't know everything," she teased him, knowing that is how Donovan worked.
She could not understand why he felt insistance on knowing everything, maybe he should have been a scholar instead.

"Huh...." Donovan murmured as he let Kara snuggle, "Well whoever did it, did it very well," he commented looking at Serenity.
Though he hadn't had expected this at all, if the two were going out, then they stopped skirting around the issue sooner than he expected.

Serenity felt Donovan's gaze more than she saw it, and she glanced up at him and smiled.
"Yes," she murmured. "Very talented indeed ..."
She looked back down at the picture. "Tell me more about ... Lore," she requested softly. She wanted to know the man who might one day possibly be a part of the family.

Donovan raised a brow, but was more than happy to comply with that request.
"Well let's see... he's.... a lot older than Elnara, he's had to be the librarian for at least a century now, seeing as some of his work goes back that far. He does do his own written work, and research," his cousins would not shut up about that, "He's a bit shy."
Well if one could put two and two together about Lore's people, Donovan wasn't really surprised that Lore was 'shy'.

At least a century. An interesting thought. But Serenity found herself smiling at being told the man was shy ... it was true, something like that would put off some women - most, perhaps - but still, Serenity had had her share of men who were not shy, many of whom had been taught a very painful lesson by Garrick.
Though it did beg the question, with Elnara having changed as she had, how in the world did the two manage to meet? She voiced her question to Donovan curiously.

"Elnara helps Triton out in the cafe he runs," Donovan replied, "For some reason or another someone suggested him to try that place out for some tea and a good place to work. So it was a fluke really, he was there to do some reading, she was there to look after the cafe, and well he just kept coming back," Donovan wondered thought if it was because Elnara was one of the few elves Lore had met that he was comfortable with.
Despite Gaia being the land where everyone was different, it was always nice to see someone of your own race every once in a while.

Serenity nodded slowly, smiling faintly. "Perhaps I should ask her if I can meet him ... when I come to visit," she suggested. "Though I should like very much to visit the cafe anyways ... and perhaps I could meet some of her other friends, if the opportunity arises?"
Granted, she didn't know what life was like there, how busy people were, how available ...

Donovan nodded slowly, "If you really want to meet the people she interacts with, then you might want to visit the school or get Elnara to invite them to the cafe... or just stick around the inn since the children love Elnara," he added, "Only Feng would ask, could we keep her the moment we come back."

Serenity actually laughed at that. "Like a pet," she chuckled. "I almost wish I could have been there."
Though if she had been, Elnara might not have gone back to Gaia at all, but come to wander the Four Lands with her.

Donovan smirked, "It was amusing, Feng and Ryu often look after Celebor, so they hang around a lot."
Or float around as the case maybe.

"To just... lounge around a certain area, to be somewhere often for no other reason than it's a place for them to relax," Donovan supplied.
Even though more accurately speaking the twins couldn't go anywhere that much since they much preferred to be mers unless they were training instead of being human.
