For once in his life, Riven was truly sorry. Even after loving Musa for years, he never even considered hers or for that matter his death. He walked up to Akane, took her by the shoulders gently and said, "Look, Akane, I am sorry if I hurt your feelings. I- I never even thought of... well, what it would be like to lose someone so close. I... I thought I was helping, but as always... my cold heart got in the way. Can you forgive me?"
Riven's eyes showed sincereity. He didn't want to lose Musa, he loved her. He really hadn't lost anyone as close to him like Kai was to Akane.

Akane looked to Riven then nodded. "I forgive you."
Musa smiled. "Ok I'll go talk to him now then." Musa went off to find Iori. She saw that he was talking with Dee. She walked up to him anyway.

Iori then said, "I just don't know what to do!" Tears were gushing down his high-boned cheeks. He continued, "I love Akane, but I want to show respect for the loss of her husband Kai. It's like I can't control myself either! I'm from a planet filled with volcanoes and things that requires quick decisions. One reason that I am attending Red Fountain is to learn how to battle at a much slower pace. My heart right now is beating as fast as lava running down a mountainous rock. What should I do?"

Musa had been listening to Iori as he explained his feelings. She walked up closer to him and Dee. " Listen Iori, Akane is sorry she slapped you. But for her it was a kneejerk reaction. I mean she just lost her love before their lives together really had started."

Zafire heard the discussion from the ceiling. She envied Iori, who was there to learn to slow his pace, but what she needed was to fasten hers. She looked at the sky and shot a handful of stardust. She was really angry because hours ago she would have been able to shoot it at least a kilometer farther. She flew to Iori as fast as she could, even when her flight had been weakened too. She saw him sniffing and she knew why. There was Musa and Dee too, explaining Akane's reaction. She decided the scen was too much for her, so she hid into the woods and made her diamond sky attack. This time it did not cover all of the landscape, but about the half. She was very frustrated, so she returned to Iori and the rest. "I'm sorry to interrupt this way but I have to say sincerily that I agree with Musa." she said "I understand you could not help kissing her, but wipe off your tears. You must know it's not your fault that she slapped you, she's too sad. verything happened so fast for her. She married him the day he met him, and now he's well... dead, it's too much for a girl. But hey, you're cute, that's good. You may have a chance later, but hold your impulses for now."

Iori sniffed, and said, "It isn't the fact that I got slapped that the tears came. That slap hurt! If you would have been on the recieving end of that, you'd be crying too. I think she knocked a tooth loose when she did that. Besides this was an emotional moment too. I mean, okay, yeah, I reacted too suddenly. Granted for that one. But...I too was mourning over Kai. Sort of mourning for Akane and me at the same time. Plus, I am so used to being on the delivery end of hits not the recieving end. Ha ha ha."
Riven then walked up to the group and he could feel that evil was going to detect their locale if they did not split up now. Therefore he said, "As much as I would like for us to continue this conversation, shouldn't we be thinking of making ourselves scarce. Think about it. A bunch of good guys gathered together, sort of soloed out... I think Valtor would want us to do that so he could send a few of his minions after us! Iori, look, if it will make you feel any better, you can bunk it with me tonight. Hey, I bet I could come up with some great ideas for you to woo Akane off her feet. Whoops, was that last part out loud. Ha ha ha. I meant to tell you that later. As for right now, Musa, shouldn't we be finding out more important things like what Valtor might be planning? If we can use whatever element of surprise we can have, we might as well use it, right?"

Musa looked to Iori. "For now, just be a friend. Take things slow with her. I think you two could be really good together but she's not only mourning Kai but the dreams she had of their lives. Just be there when she needs a shoulder to cry on and she'll need one alot. Then when you two start dating, start slowly. Maybe dinner and a movie." She then turned to Riven. "Right now Contessa and Hallie are trying to get Oliver's powers from Valtor."

Smiling, Iori thanked Musa for her advice and then Iori went to find some nice flowers in a nearby forest. He thought that perhaps flowers first and then his shoulder.
Riven said, "Okay, well, while Contessa and Hallie are getting Oliver's powers, what should you and I do? Any ideas?"

Now feeling tons better thanks to Ms. F. Terry spotted Dee with Musa, Zafire, and Riven. "Yo!" Terry called, "I found out something about what Valtor is planning you might find interesting!"

Zafire was very glad to see Terry acting with some sense again. It gave her some hope. "What do you say Valtor is planning?"

Terry replied, "Well, for some of us, he plans on turning them into innocent babies, however, it won't be their bodies that changes. It will be their minds. I ruined my favorite pair of jeans thanks to him. Soiled them completely! Anyway, that's one thing he's planning. The second thing he plans on doing is something similar to what he did to Kai. For those who have had problems with their mind before, like suffered depression and just want to die, well, Valtor will be sure it happens. Before Kai was married, Akane, was Kai as depressed as ever? If so, then that proves what Valtor is up to. Everyone's mind is at risk! And, also, you know the one who collects stars... like I had one, but in order to sustain me, I need a star in my body. If it fades, like Kai's did, then that one dies. So, he's planning on eliminating the one who has powers over all the stars. I believe that is you Zafire, if I am not mistaken. Valtor wants to eliminate your powers by making you lose the remaining stars that you have left. And to do that..."

Riven knew that Terry was onto something here. He said, "You know what? That does make perfect sense. He found out our basic weakness, one we all shared. We are all connected basically through our minds. Without basic thought, our bodies will not do a thing. Even by magic! And for the ones with stars in their bodies, then that would be the easiest way to access them! But, then with Kai..."

Terry replied, "Kai was only a mere example of what will eventually happen to us if we resist what he's doing. And it was out of pure luck that Kai was a star. There will be at least one star remaining in Zafire's body because of what Kai did. Kai made a sacrifice. It was just poorly timed on Kai's behalf."
