He stumbled and the grin faultered as he stopped in his tracks.

"Y...you don't know?" This seemed to be unexpected for the man and he looked at his feet.

"I was...I am...faulty. Destroy instead of create, fire instead of...growth Very bad...the doctor had a lot of troubles that were were..."

Fire and screams, Sunstrike slipped his hand across his stomach. He shook his head to dispel the memory and began pacing again. "I'll help, be good. Make up for loss. Forget..." He was very close to the shade again, as if drawn.

"I know you, supposed to be..." His eyes narrowed. "Gone..." Sun rubbed his hands together as if that would ease some of the pain, so hard that he was probably doing more damage then good. A line appeared at an odd place, just to the left of the palm and jagged white, even against skin as pale as his own.

Buzzing started at the back of his head. His mind was supplying a wound that should have already healed.

"You were...you were like me..." Everything went still.

You are not faulty.

::He said strongly and yet kindly.::

Your exactly as you were meant to be. The only fault lies in the hands of those that tried to make you into something other than what you were born as.

::He paused for a moment. With a little bit more faith he became a little bit more real. His rose to swipe a few misplaced strands of his semi-transparent spikey black hair. And as it came down, it instinctually moved to where his nose should be, to push up something that clearly wasnt there.::

Other than what you were...created to be.

Sunstrike
"I know you, supposed to be..." His eyes narrowed. "Gone..." Sun rubbed his hands together as if that would ease some of the pain, so hard that he was probably doing more damage then good.

::He laughed just a bit. No confirmations, no denials. But he did lift his hand and plop it directly on Sun's head. It was actually tangible, and as it messed up his hair just a bit, he was actually quite gentle. It was that same gentle touch his other hand had as it was gently placed on Sun's hands. It was almost in an attempt to change to the channel in Suns mind and stop him from hurting himself.::

I still am.

::He said in an almost fatherly way and his hand slipped down from Sun's head to his shoulder.::

And now, I'm watching over you.

::A most odd thing to say, and odder still that as he said, he lifted up both his hands. And vanished. He left not a word or a trace that he was ever there at all.

The shock and stillness was broken by the sudden ding of a bell, and the sound of hurried feet down a hall. This immediately followed by a bit of a panicked knock on Datho's door, and a worried voice calling from behind it. A female voice...Mary's to be precise.::

D-Datho are you alright in there?

Sunstrike was still looking at his hands, knelt in the center of the large rug, even as Mary's soft voice carried over him. He had to rouse himself, he had to...

There was a thump as he fell to his side, head hitting the carpeted floor, slightly blue tinged as he remembered breath, and air again. A small amount of blood seeped from around his eyes, Sunstrike tears of stress as he tried to force himself out of the daze.

"I'm not...faulty?" Even saying it brought lurching shudders to his body, but he had to say it, had to feel it. Mary probably would have heard the thump, but the words would be mumbled, soft, disjointed.

"Mary?!" He needed someone, anyone, his chest hurt with the lack of oxygen he'd forced on it.

::A thump, and a desperate voice from behind the door. She didnt need anymore. With a loud bang she swung open the door, standing there in her jammies. Which of course consisted of an oversized shirt which came down about as low as a mini-skirt and was covered in red stripes to match her hair, a little cap with a red pom pom at the end, and big fluffy white snowball slippers, with two beady red eyes.

But her attire wasnt even slightly taken into consideration as she dashed to Sunny, tossing her giant syringe on the floor, and scooped him up in her arms. His head resting in on her arm, and his upper body laying on her knees.::

Datho?! Whats wrong? What happened?

::Honestly, she knew that asking him might not have been the best course of action, but she couldnt think of what else to do.::

"It...I...there was..." He shuddered and just wrapped himself around her smaller form, breathing coming in deep gasps. What had that been? Where was that figure from...he'd been so close to the conclusion, so close to an answer.

"N-n-n" Sunstrike tried to say it, tried to get the words out. Everything hurt so much. "Night m-mares..." A nightmare, he'd seen it, he'd remembered. A flash of light, something around his neck. And then it was gone, all there was, was a small patchwork girl that was frightened half to death and struggling to hold up a being that was beyond panic and fear, into the darker realms of any number of psychosis.

"D-d-darkness..."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 17, 2006 1:13 am

::And frightened she was, but a little trooper she tried to be. She could fall apart at a time like this, she had to be strong like Father. Smiling even when things look their worst. To be honest she hadnt a clue what Datho meant, beside the mention of nightmares. So as to be expected of daddys little girl, she responded the same way her father would have, should she have had a bad dream. She pulled Datho in close, and wrapped her arms around his head ever so gently.::

Its going to be ok...

::She said, though as much strength as she could muster, even she wasnt entirely sure of that. Theres no way she could know that.::

It was only a bad dream...

::She didnt really know that either. She was no psychologist, but even she could tell Datho's mind wasnt where it should be.::

Its not rea--

::That was the one statement she was confident in until she saw, what she saw. Her eyes drifted up from Sun's form to spot of carpet above him. Careful not to disturb Datho, she reached just past on him on the rug, and pulled back a jet black feather, about 1ft long. She wanted to beleive it was all fake until that....confused as possible she held the feather in front of Datho and titled her heard to the side to ask...::

Where'd you get this? Its pretty.

:;Because there was simply NO way anyone snuck in uninvited.::

Something strange happened when she asked him about the feather. He laughed, hard. Pressed up against her, it was somewhat muffled, but it still echoed in the large room.

"Mary Mary. Contrary Mary...can you keep a secret?" Those vivid eyes of his were suddenly so close. He'd wait, and even if she answered no the words already would spill from his lips.

"It found me!~" And he'd kiss her on the nose, moving back and struggling to get back to his feet.

((sorry for all the short posts Max @_@ I'll attempt to make up for it tonight ^w^))

((No worries Sun Sun. xd ))

: biggrin umbfounded is the first word that comes to mind. From broken to laughing at the sight of...a feather? She was lost. A secret he says? Again, she was lost but, she put on a confused smile and nodded::

Y-yeah, I wont a soul.

::As if she wasnt confused enough, he kissed her! Granted it was on the nose, but when a cute guy touches her at all it sends tingles down her spine all the best ways. She giggled all embarassed like not only from the kiss, but from the recitation of that old nursery rhyme father used to say to her. And she did her best to help Datho back onto his feet. But his "secret" still left her completely lost, and with only one question floating in the back of her mind.::

What found you?

"The feather!" He cackled again. Sun really was losing it now, not that he had a lot to begin with. Sighing softly he looked down at those worried green eye and smiled. "Everything will be alright, Mary. Guardian demons. Gaurdian darkness. Gauding the darkness..." The words tumbled over themselves, then he blinked at her. He saw how she was dressed, and looked away, slightly embarassed over the way he'd behaved.

"How...did you know I was..." Sunstrike couldn't really finish the train of thought adequately, but the intention was there, and he paused so she could finish it for him.

Sunstrike
"How...did you know I was..."

::Lost.

Entirely lost.

She just stared blankly as she not only knew where to think, but what to think and how to think. She was just plain lost. And it clearly showed on the vicious dumbstruck look on her face. She just nodded very slowly as the answer entered...and just stuck somewhere in her mind.::

Sunstrike
"How...did you know I was..."

Oh!

::She shook her head for a moment as if calling her conciousness back from the confusing void it had wandered too. She knew the answer to this one! She immediately took her cap off and sat it beside Datho, then stood up and shuffled over a teddy bear sitting on Datho's night stand and held its belly up to her mouth and talked.::

Can you hear it? Its a microphone!

::Her voice could be heard coming from the little pomp pomp at the end of her night cap. She smiled and put the bear back down and made her way back over to Datho.::

Father put it there so I could check on you incase anything went wrong. Which reminds me....who were you talking to?

::It was most odd for her because she only heard one voice, Datho's on the mic. But he seemed to be responding to something someone said. She placed her hands on her hips and cocked her head slightly to the side as she asked the question. It was almost like she was visually looking for the answer.::

For the first time, uncertainty passed over Sunstrike's face. He looked at the feather she carried, but even in his scattered mind, he knew how daft it would appear to say that he'd been talking to that. His fingers worked along the wood of a bedpost as he tried to come up with an answer for her.

"I...must have been talking to myself..." That probably wasn't any better then the actual feather statement would have been. But to have Mary say that she'd not heard anything, over something that seemed to be as sensitive as the microphone...well, he didn't know what to think anymore.

He became slightly depressed at the though that the friend who'd seemed so tangible at the time. Was nothing more then something that had probably floated out of the closet. Sun rubbed his forehead and looked at Mary. She'd gone through so much trouble...

"I'm...sorry."

Sunstrike
"I'm...sorry."

Dont be.

::Mary said with her usually perky smile. She very gently set the feather down right beside the teddy bear and skipped over to Dathos. And began counting on her fingers as she spoke.::

I. must. have. been. talking. to. my. self. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight.

::She hopped forward and slung her arms around him and proceeded to hug him most excitedly.::

Congratulations! Thats eight words, in a completely normal sentence! Your getting better!

::She ruffled his red hair is if trying to pet the mind that finally seemed to clicking back together. There was an honest to goodness smile from ear to ear across her pale skin.::

It doesnt matter who you were talking to, all that matters is that your doing ok now, and your getting better.

::And she rather triumphantly nodded, and then reached down, picked up her hat, and flopped it back on her head with simply the sweetest smile on her face. A few moments ago things might have seemed hopeless and rather grim, but honestly that once sentence made her night! For a second she seemed a bit uneasy...but then she went with what her gut told her and quickly leaned forward and gave Datho a quick kiss on the cheek, and then giggled a bit as she said.::

Goodnight Datho, get some rest, we're gonna have alot of fun tomorrow.

::And blushing ever so slightly she skipped out of the room, closing the doors behind her. She made it about 20ft down the hall before she stopped, looked back at Dathos room and gave the tiniest stiffled school girl giggle, and then jumped into the elevator and started down to her room.::

Sunstrike watched her go, surprised look still on his face after she'd told him he was getting better. Was that the case? It did seem like words would come more comfortably with practice, they almost wanted to string themselves together now as he learned to focus.

Limping around the bed he sat down next to the teddy and feather, before reaching out and taking the midnight coloured object. Light and soft, he could barely feel it within his hands, and for a moment he wondered how the hell he could keep it on his person without anyone noticing...

But that would have to wait until tomorrow, and the teddybear jumped as he fell onto the rest of the bed, just looking into the depths of the feathers colour before finally closing his eyes, still firmly holding the object.

He'd figure it out tomorrow.

::Without a sun in view to rise or fall, sometimes its hard to gage when morning comes and when night fades away. But the Doctor managed to keep his clock set to the old solar ways. And at 9am sharp, Datho would be visited by a set of three knocks on his door.

This was immediately followed by three tiny knocks much lower on his door. It looks like it was time to rise and shine.::

---Off The Coast of Guldor---

::And oil rig was positioned, it churned away at its oily work. Its assumed that as with all other oil rigs 4 struts keep the rig above water and extend down deep to the ocean floor. Its unlikely someone was constantly testing the durability of a series of metal bars. But for anyone who was looking, or anyone who was monitoring them. They would see four rather giangantic tentacles wrap around them, and shake.

It looked like something out of an old horror movie. Tentacle so huge they make the object their attacking look like a toy. And next to these massive arms, the struts did indeed look alot like metallic twigs. What was worse was the the creature was so massive, it itself wouldnt appear on any camera feed. And somehow it had manage to totally avoid radar detection. All that could be seen was a murky figure in the distance from whence they tentacles came, and they shook violently.

It was easily enough to rattle the entire rig above and gather quite alot of attention to itself. Perhaps the creature was simply....testing...the rig. Perhaps not.

But it didnt wait for permission. Another massive tentacle slipped upwards breaching the surface like the tip of a glacier might break water in the far north. It reached up, wrapping around the nearest chunk of machinery, most likely the giant crane mechanism...and it ripped it clean off. One could see, that the sheer weight alone this thing could topple most of the rig, its arms would have no problems ripping off pieces and dragging them under the surface. Perhaps it was just...taking a sample. Again though in oddest fashion, not a drop of water splashed onto the rig. The entire tentacle burst free of the ocean completely dry, and back under the same way.

And then all was silent. No violent shakes, no nothing. Dead silence.

Perhaps it was a warning.::

Sunstrike sat up and rubbed his eyes, yawning wide as the knock on the door carried to him. Slipping out of the covers he quickly redressed and limped to the door, trying to get all of the stiffness out of his limbs, before opening it cautiously.

He didn't really know what to expect with a new day, nor what to make of what happened last night. Things were going too fast now for him to take the time and consider. Maybe he'd find a quiet time to investigate these thoughts later on.
