Baptiste smiles up at the wooden sign of the dressmaker's. "Ah, here we are," he says. He opens the door and holds it for his dove to walk in. He locates the dressmaker and speaks with purpose. "My friend requires a dress, a plain one, but of good quality." He glances back at the girl. "I'd say she was a size four, but that's only my inexpert estimate." He smiles at the dressmaker, suggesting that his 'inexpert estimate' was anything but.

"I don't think that your fortunes both meant... the same piece of the trirune, but differed parts." Valelldia was, through means of her own keeping, knowledgeable of the meij fortunes that spread throughout her caravan. "There is something else here, at the shore that might help you, I would say, Sister." She looked over the vast crowd. "I saw Gwynna walking earlier, with a man with wings. Perhaps he might be able to aid you."

"That shouldn't be so hard...not hard at all..." Anezka chimed up, her voice full of encouragement to her disheartened mother and thanks to Valelldia. "A man with wings would know all about the Protectorate..." With a hug to Val, Anezka grabbed Shy's hand and headed off into the crowd to find Gwynna, the panda girl...and the winged man of mystery.

"Och, don't worry about us, love," says Caroline. "We'll stay here and..." she swallows. "Wait."

She stood, her hands clasped at her front in a chaste, almost praying motion, though surely it was a gesture too low to be a prayer, and waited, her eyes round, wondering what might happen to her. She did not think to feel guilt about this man who had swept in out of the breeze, buying her gifts and shepherding her into a new life. She had lived her life under the voice of something powerful and controlling, yet beautiful, all at once. She did not find this new world all so unknown- though it was not as rigid nor as unforgiving as the last.

[Mene has zero clue about how to buy dresses, so we'll just skip it, neh?]

After the proper bartering over the chosen dress, Baptiste paid for it and then waited outside the dressing room while his charge changed clothes He'd then carefully folded her white robe and tucked it in his satchel.

"There now," he says with a warm smile. "Don't you look lovely, Angelique? You must be hungry--I know I am, I haven't eaten since early this morning, well before the festivals. What would you like to eat?"

She nodded, pressing down the modest, yet soft fabric against her skin, though it needed no such attention. It had been a long time since she'd had anything but the traditional priestess' garb on her skin.

"I have been fasting since last night. ...For the festivals. Thank you, Baptiste."

Marissa watched the scene unfold in horror. She was at a complete loss of what to do- before her, a mother was tortured by the sight of her own child, and behind her, a bubble vessel carrying her only child threatened to dissipate if she didn't decide soon. Quickly, suddenly, rashly, Marissa cried:

"Take him! Rojiza, go with them, I'll stay with your mother and Lorelei." To the Filor she pleaded, "Please be careful."

"You are most welcome," he falters slightly. "You've yet to give me your name. Or shall I be content calling you Angelique?" He smiles and takes her hand again, leading them both toward the savory smells of the market district.

The Filor didn't have even a time to nod- but they swam... as quickly and as furiously as they might, without letting the little makeshift vessel topple. As they went, they released their enzyme in large amounts into the water- especially as they pulled further away from the shore, and left the dock and the fretful women, each torn by their own fear- far behind. The more enzyme they released, the more likely they were to call the Northern Loch, who was, of the four, the most friendly with the Filor. Rojiza may even have been able to smell the indescribably sweet scent that pierced through the water, and touched the air. That is, if she wasn't wholly occupied with holding on for dear life.

It was five minutes of swimming- or maybe ten- time was naught upon the rolling waves- before a figure finally came up into view. It was massive, although all that peered through the water was the very tip of its head, upon which its eyes and a series of golden green scales boasted what the size of the rest of it must be. The waters chopped and rolled around it, as if afraid of the great beast. The Filor, however, were not- for they swam ever faster toward it, and then let the little bubble boat stop at its very nose.

"There you go, little one. ...Tell the King what's what," the Filor said, literally breathless. It sucked a mouthful of tired air, reinflating its papery lungs.

She considered a long while, before nodding to herself, deciding. It was a decision that was to speak to more than her name- but to her life, at large.

"Angelique is as good as any other name."

With the festival moving around, DeArca kept close with the others. He however couldn't keep the crystallaureate off his mind. He ran away when the priestess said there was nothing they could do for Illyana and finally, he returned after spending so much time being alone. Ash was perched on his shoulder and DeArca looked over, petting him. He then sighed and shook his head. "We have no choice but to wait until the festival is over, Ash. The priestess said she can only help us then" He said and Ash squeaked.

The priestess, after the ceremony, came looking for the man with the little mouse. When she finally found him, she sidled up close to him, her voice so low it was only a whisper.

"I've sent some of the priests to speak to the Heraph... and he says ... that since we don't know how to return ...this... Illyana to you as you say she was before, we are going to send her with you the way she is. Where is your caravan moored? We will... send some priests to ...deliver her." Unspoken apologies filled the pauses.
DeArca felt so broken to hear her words. He then felt even worse to think she would travel with him in the state she was in....like he was an undertaker carrying a coffin on his wagon. He closed his eyes tightly a moment and a tear fell down his cheek as he clenched his fists. "I'm sorry...just a minute, please....." He asked, trying to find the ability to calm his sadness and anger.

Rojiza cradles candle-Kale between her stomach and her thighs and uses her hands to hold onto the bubble craft. When the loch hoves into view, Ro is struck with terror. Then her heart freezes as the Filor tell her to explain to the Northern King what's what. She panics and her insides drop to the bottom of the ocean, it feels like. You've chosen the wrong person, she thinks. I can't tell him what's what. I can't tell him anything! I. Can't. Talk!

Baptiste smiles. "Angelique it is, then. It means 'angelic' in French. I learned it alongside the common tongue as I was growing up."

Her heart broke a little, and she put a soft hand on his arm. "I am sorry. I wish there were more we could do. But... I'm sure that the... elements of this world will aid you in your quest." It was as close as a White Magic Priestess could come to telling the man that the meij would protect him. She was about to turn, and leave, but something tucked into her belt reminded her of something.

"Oh. I heard from another priest.... that you were looking for whiteberry wine." She passed the small, white ceramic flask to him. "Here. For you." Then she bowed, a deep, apologetic thing- and left him with that small favor.

Fermer Woman: Tall (obviously), with a box with holes in it under her arm, idling about near you. (Whoever 'you' are)

As Irina hefted Kal up into her arms, she followed the crowd, walking through the pathways of the city and thinking about the life growing inside her. She'd have to take good care of herself in the next few months--she wanted to be healthy for the Savior's sake.

While deep in thought, Kalpana began to squirm in Irina's arms, making squeaking and squealing noises as she motioned toward something close by. The girl acted as if she wanted to be let down, and so, Irina lowered Kal to the ground, still unsure whether the little girl could walk or not. Instead of trying to walk on her large feet, she got down on all fours and scampered (?) over to a tall woman who was holding a box. It seemed Kal was interested in what the woman was holding as she tried to hoist herself up.

"Kal, hold on a sec!" Irina said, hoping her claws wouldn't tear into the woman's dress. "My apologies ma'am. She just seemed so interested in you, I thought it wouldn't hurt to let her take a look."

DeArca's hand tightened against the flask as he felt a final tear fall. "There is a wagon second to the end of the caravan...the Forest Spirit...it has the etching of a tree leaf on the side. Leave....Nnn, place Illyana there....thank you" He asked, kneeling down as he sniffed. He reached up slowly, holding Ash as he flipped the cork off the flask.

"Alright Ash...you're gonna feel a little wet, but it'll be ok" He asked and Ash squeaked, sniffing around as he saw DeArca tilt the flask a bit. "Alright Ash...here it goes" he said pouring a few drops onto the little mouse. "Bless thee the one I share my hopes and dreams...bless thee the one my heart falls to...bless the one who shares..who shares..." He paused a bit and frowned. "Nnn...who shares the feeling of one I lost...but...bless thee the one that gives me the courage to face fear with hope that good will come in the end" He prayed, tilting the flask up as Ash squeaked, shaking to dry himself.
