The light and noise are nearly too much for Kya, but Nakoreth keeps encouraging him, and the sharp, real pain of Nimakio's claws help keep him focused. He heads toward the Weyrling training field, as it's flat, cleared, and there don't seem to be a lot of people headed that way.
Then, suddenly, he's no longer staggering, he's walking normally. Now everyone else is staggering around. Did I just give my drunkeness to everyone else? he asks Nakoreth, confused. The brown is overhead, circling with several other dragons who were disturbed by the flits.
Ah... no. The ground is shaking.
Oh. Well. At that, Kya lands hard on his rear, and now he can actually feel the ground moving. The blue flit launches himself from Kya's head, joining a fair of the little menaces that must have over a thousand in it. Feeling very ill, he vomits all over the packed dirt.
Are you feeling better now?
Not especially, Kya groans. The shaking, which seemed set to jar Kya's bones out of their sockets, finally stops. Kya wipes at his mouth, which tastes disgusting. His head is pounding, and his stomach is still unstable. Remind me to never, ever, under any circumstances whatsoever, so much as touch alcohol again, Kya tells Nakoreth feverently. He gets to his feet and looks around.

Niko! Gyo' mind-screams, stopping mid wing-stroke, and roars, halting and trying to get as close to the ledge as possible, frantic for Niko and afraid a rock has fallen on her as well, or afraid that she has fallen off the ledge.
Niko shrieks as the floor falls out from under her as she falls, landing on R'nek. She shakes, and is then pushed away as another rock tumbles down. She stops rolling a few feet away, lying on her stomach with her arms over her head. She moans softly, and slowly lifts her head, dust falling out of her hair. She looks around, and sees R'nek with a fairly large boulder on his arm. "R'nek!" She scrambles over, and starts shoving at the rock, pushing it for a few minutes before she finally rolls it off him and over the ledge. She looks at his arm for a moment, before trying to lift him up, putting his good arm around her shoulder and walking as quickly as possible down the rest of the ledge, struggling to help him walk.
Mine, hurry, please... Gyo' sounds even more frantic, and he hovers in the air, his tail lashing in his frustration.

Arizath, as many dragons can, feels the distress of all the other dragons in the wyre. he catches some of one young blue's thoughts
Two young wyrelings are stuck on a ledge, one may have a broken arm
T'thia opened her eyes which she had been clenching shut
"think you can launch?"
with that thought Arizath crouched and sprung into the air quickly throwing his wings out and gliding to the ledge that the young wyrelings were attempting to scramble down
"Niko?!"
T'thia recognised the wyreling from some of the lessons she had helped teach.
"arizath get closer to the ledge"
Riz obliged and dipped a wing slightly. T'thia held out her hand.
"think you can handel the weight Riz?"
yes, just hurry, rocks are falling
T'thia stretches her arm out
"come on! Both of you get on! we'll take you to ground level!"

"Uungh?" R'nek moans incoherently as Niko struggles to roll the boulder off his arm. "Unnnnnh... I..." He coughs a few times. "I think it might be... broken..." He shifts around, leaning on her a little to help himself stand. "I'm... I'm okay." He winces painfully as a small pebble falls from the ceiling, hitting his shoulder. "Well... I could be better..." Suddenly he realizes that yes, the floor IS still moving, and it might be better to leave than to stand around talking.
Mine! Mine, are you okay? Get out of there! Famyroth pauses. Arizath is outside, and he'll take you to the ground. GET OUT!
"Arizath... he's outside." As the two reach the ledge after much struggling, R'nek begins to play the gentleman in his quasi-delirium and play the gentleman. "You go... first, Niko..."

Suddenly Flasher and Milly started flying around her, both chittering madly. Flasher nips at her shoulder, pulling her out of her weyr. Pulled out of it, she sees Velmeth on the ledge.
Come, there are two of your year-mates in trouble. . . Ryvana vaulted onto his back, and he took off, the three dragonets, Fisher having joined them, circling around them. Ryvana just sat on Velmeth's back, letting him take her where the two weyrlings were.
Do you think you could hold two more people? she asked him nervously. What if it's someone I know? Like that girl I met earlier. . .
They will be fine. And I can carry them. I will try. Velmeth's voice comforted her thoughts, and coming upon the ledge, Ryvana saw the two weyrlings, one about to mount his dragon, the other supporting him. "Hurry!" Ryvana shouted, not sure if there was going to be another rockslide. "I can take one, or both if you can manage to get him on Meth!" She looked at Meth worriedly, still a little bit unsure of the weight he could hold.

Tikal hurried out of the lower caverns as fast as she could manage. Finally after what felt like an eternity, she was outside again. The ground lurched once more and she had to bend her knees to stop from toppling over. She looked about and saw chaos. Ryvana and her dragon where nowhere to be seen. Drudges, riders and weyrling had assembled in a mass. Dragons bugling...flits screeching...people yelling...and then there was the sound and movement of the earth itself. Tikal's eyes scanned for a safe place to deposit her "load". She spotted a relatively vacant spot, and half dragged half carried the stunned person towards it.

Serial_Poker Drakiana smiled thankfully as she was helped up, and doubly thankful for the support as they ran. DRakiana nodded as they stopped, trying to catch her breah. "I'm...al..right." she gasped out, head sagging. She shook her head, then loked up, watching the people as they fled the weyr and all the chucks of rock falling down. "I hope everyone's ok." she said when she got her breath back. Crying with worry, Rumor landed on her shoulder and hide his head in her hair. She absently stroked him, feeling how worried he was and how sorry he was for scratching her. "It's ok, Rumor. You saved my life. That's more that I could ever ask for." "Lets see if we can group people together... See who's wounded and help ne?" She forces a smile despite how batterd and bruised she felt. "I hope Ath settles down..." she looks up at the sky in worry trying to spot her little blue. Her wounds on her shoulder were slowly oozing blood and cloting. The scratches on her arm forgotten for now with the helping of others formost in her mind. So with her body forgotten she went around, the ground still shaking, and tried helping anyone else who might be wounded or worse.

Pushing herself to a seated position, Ray looks around. Nobody seems to have noticed her arrival; there was a nearby crowd clustered around someone injured--she could see a prone form as the crowd shifted. Nobody seemed to be doing anything though, as the dragons continued calling out in alarm and fear.
Shifting the eggpot to her injured arm, she uses her good one to prop her as she slowly stands. None of the dragons had sent up a keen, which was incredibly fortunate, the Weyr was already so badly low on fighting dragons! But from the tone of some of the dragons's cries, there were definitely injured riders.
As she finally gets to her feet, one of her ankles buckles. Yelping, she waves her good arm about, gingerly trying to put some weight on her ankle to at least balance her.
When she's no longer in danger of falling over, Ray tries to figure out what to do.
Wrath! Call to the other Weyrs, tell them what happened. We need Healers. Tell them to come as fast as they can.
Good. Yes. I will do that. Wrath sounds relieved at Ray's idea, and sends out the call for aid.
Thinking really hard, Ray tries to call Isskio back. It takes her a few moments, but the little queen returns, squawking when Ray shoos her off from landing on her shoulder. "Isskio, I need Shadill." She visualizes the headwoman. "Find Shadill, bring her here." The flit vanishes, and Ray looks around again. No one she knows well is in the vincinity, and with her ankle, she knows she shouldn't move around. She shouldn't even be standing.
As she waits, she tries coming up with other things they should do. Hopefully there wasn't a lot of structural damage to the caves and weyrs, but Ray knew that optimism didn't save lives. Miners would have to go through all of the individual weyrs and all of the caverns and tunnels, to make sure nothing would collapse... they could send wings to live at other Weyrs, perhaps, until Benden was declared habitable again.
But that'd have to wait... right now she had to see that everyone had a place to sleep tonight, and that everyone who was injured was treated.
... She hoped those Healers would arrive soon. And Shadill. What was keeping the woman?

Arizath rummbled with anxiety
"this is no time for curtisies R'nek get on!"
T'thia grabbed hold of Niko's arm and hauled her onto Arizath's neck behind her. she looked at R'nek worried about his arm.
"can you get on one handed R'nek?"
she knew the wyreling hadn't had much training in mounting dragon's and prolly couldn't get on but hopped that with help from Niko and herself they could get him on. another dragon seamed to be on his way Arizath hurriedly sent out a warning to the brown
we have them! go find others trapped on ledges, we need to get everyone to ground level
"Riz, bespeak Wrath, find Rayi"
Arizath then touched Wrath's mind and inquired as to where her's was.
she is on the ground near the steps to the wyreleader's wyre.
"good. as soon as we get these two to the ground we must go to her and see what can be done to help, we're part of the few who remain uninjured"

Though unfamilar with the Weyr and scared of what was happening, P'las realized that someone would have to start directing everyone to maintain a sense of order. That someone might as well be him. After all, he was the Weyrleader now, he might as well act like it! Question was, what should he do?! gonk
He noticed a few dragons flying, rescuing those stuck on ledges as portions of the Weyr began to crumble. The dragons had a easy time in the air as the shakings of the earth didn't affect them. But how could they get everyone on a dragon? There were several injured that he could see. Perhaps he should find Rayi. Maybe the two of them could figure something out. Now where was she...?
Close by, at the bottom of the stairs. There are a lot of people between you and her. Be careful...
The ground gave another heave and the bronzerider stumbled, almost falling. Instead he bumped into a couple of people, but no one was apologizing. It was impossible to prevent the collisions. Slowly and carefully, he made his way towards Rayi.

An aftershock hits and Ray nearly loses her balance again. Hopping on one foot, yelping when she accidentally puts down her injured one, she slams into someone who was hurrying past. "Oh, sorry!"
The person she bumped into helps her find her balance, but doesn't notice that she can't quite stand so well, and keeps going, just running pointlessly. She watches him bump into someone else, pause a moment to apologize, then keep running in a different direction.
"Shells, am I surrounded by a flock of squawking wherries?!" Her voice increases in volume. "SHOW SOME SENSE!" She silences the nearby crowd for a full second, then whispers start, then they're back at full babble. She cusses under her breath.

Arizath's whirling eyes watch the pandamonium and chaos below
"Shards, with all this confusion nothing will get done"
T'thia's voice had so much anger, frustration, and agitation to it that Arizath let loose an enormouse bellow, not a shrill cry of mourning, not a warble of pain, but an echoing bugle that roared over the crowd. The great bronze actually managed to put demand into such an unearthly sound. The outburst however startled T'thia. she looked down as hundreds of faces were turned towards her and her hovering dragon
"shells Riz, did you have to do that?"
it made them stop didn't it? what do we do now?
"contact Rayi directley, tell her we will help her in every way possible. we may be younger members of the wyre, but we still hold some sort of stature as bronze rider and dragon"
Arizath did as he was told and touched Rayi's mind directley
what do you need us to do?
Riz's voice was questioning but also gave the tone that him and T'thia were at the wyrewomen's service.

what do you need us to do?
"What?" Ray turns, hearing an unfamiliar voice, and nearly loses her balance again.
Arizath. He wishes to know what he and T'thia can do to help.
Ray groans. Tell them to go to ... to ... Fort. To the Healer Hall, to bring Healers.
Wrath reply is wordlessly reassuring.
Arizath, you and T'thia, go to the Healer Hall at Fort Hold, and bring Healers.

Tikal winced as the bronze dragon bugled overhead. She looked up and recognized T'thia form. Pandemonium was inevitable after such a traumatic event. She placed out her arm in a falconer-like way and firmly called her flits from the swarm. They came obediently, their eyes whirling in vivid red hues. Lapis, find any hurt people...bring them out of the crowd. Do you understand? The little blue cheeped and took off. Glint, I want you to go home. She sent him a picture of a caravan. Go home and tell father: "Quake, weyr hurt." Can you do that? With a chirrup the bronze took off and winked out of sight.

we are to go to fort and gather healers. i can carry two at a time
"alright, let's get these two to ground level and be off"
T'thia took hold of the back of R'nek's shirt and hauled him up behind Niko. Arizath was carful in the descent. T'thia helped both wyrelings to get to the ground. Arizath then took flight again and was quickly between. T'thia felt the bitting cold but a chill ran through ehr spine. her straps she hadn't oiled them yet.
they're fine, they will last a few trips of cold between, i will tell you if they feel loose
T'thia was slightly relieved of the chilling fear and was glad to be out of the cold between. Arizath bugled to Fort wyre as he circled to the courtyard. the headwomen came out in a flurry of annoyance
"we need healers!"
T'thia called the women stopped dead when she realised it was a girl on the bronze. a girl impressed a bronze? T'thia glared at her stupidity, she was in a hurry
"now!"
the women shook herself from her stupor and gave a nod running abck inside. shortley after a group of men and women varrieing in age, some only aprentices. T'thia counted eleven in all.
"i can take two at a time. Benden is in dire need of healers"
she paired them off quickly one aprentice standing alone. the first pair climbed aboard Arizath and were off. T'thia made the five trips as quickly as possible. when she returned to Benden Arizath wasn't even slightly discolored
"are you alright?"
Fine mine, and the harness is doing fine as well.
T'thia sighed in reliefe at that she would oil the harness after the shock of the earthquake had subsided. she saw some groups were getting out of hand and she had Arizath quickly quiet them. if they were going to get through this crisis they needed cool heads. she called to her fair of flits and directed them to get fellis juice and jars of numbweed quickly. she then sent Arizath to feed after the many trips between
"you're a bronze, we need you're strength and influence right now. eat a small snack to keep up your energy"
T'thia then quickly took the bandages and fellis juice from ehr little queen and found the wyrewomen
"Rayi, are you alright?"
T'thia thought that the most important people, the wyreleaders, should be attended to first so they could direct the confused and choatic groups.
