Hello fellow clarinet players!!!! biggrin I've been playing for 2 1/2 years and I'm still playing and I'll be in 8th grade next year. I'm thinking about playing bass clarinet next year, my teacher asked me since we have no other bass clarinet players now and since I'm good with low notes. xp

I've been playing the clarinet for five years...and desperately need a private tutor so I can make some progress...My parents just think I have too much to do already, yet they see me on the computer every day! Well, you can see my low status.

Well, you can see my low status. I feel your pain. You situation is practically identical to mine. I've been playing for five years and still need lessons. My problem is...we can't afford lessons right now...I just got surgery.

I've been playing clarinet for less than a year, but the upperclassmen taught me well, so I think I'm pretty good for a beginner.

Hi there! I've been playing the clarinet for 5 years as well. (I'm a rising freshman) But, I'm in Honor Band, and I was 1 point off in making the All State band. scream I love the clarinet, and I'm glad I can find friends who share the same enthusiasm. (Unlike my friends at school....)

Last year it was really hot and she started an argument during one of our fundamentals, and I started screaming for them to stop because it was hot and they were pissing everyone off. xd I hate jerks, especially if they're good at what they play. stressed

It's easy to argue with someone who doesn't know what they're doing, but when they can smoke you... yeah.
Sometimes you kinda have to let them have their way.
What I hated was when he started sax, and started showing, pretty much telling me that although he's only been playing, he's better than me, and anyone else at school
> The one kid, the classical clarinet player, is amazingly good, but also really mellow. The only thing about him that might get you mad is how rich he is, so he can afford to get all the nicest equipment. I mean a custom fitted Buffet, Vandoren mp with reeds, and a vandoren optimum. THough he does do gigs, so he's really paying for it himself, I guess.
: O Idk, pete is so much cooler than joe, that b*****d.

I've been playing Clarinet since the dawn of time (LOL, which basically means since the 3rd grade). I'm a senior now, yes! And if I don't get to be a drum major at my school, I think I'm gonna quit Marching Band and join the Color Guard. I get no respect...
So I've been playing Clarinet ever since I left the darn recorder stage...
I actually thought the Clarinet was called a Flute in the 4th grade... eek
Don't kill me for that! I know the difference ( haha, now)....

Again, I didn't have any real band exposure until 9th, anyway I saw a bassoon and thought that was it.
