Dear lord, please let suikoden 6 have bi-lingual settings like the castlevania games!

So, this thing has bothered me about the S5 plot for a while.

When Faroush saved Lymsleia at the New Queen's Campaign, Sialeeds betrayed them because she thought that if they continued the war, the Godwins and the Barows would be destroyed.

That makes no sense.

The Barows were disgraced and devoid of influence at that point, and Lord Barows wanted Faroush to break off and become king. Or take the crown from Lym. His plan was so stupid I've forgotten. The Godwins staged a successful coup, which ended up killing Queen Arshtat and her husband. Have them all tried and executed, or imprisoned in Agate for life- the Godwins for high treason and the Barows for conspiracy to commit. That gets rid of your corrupted nobility right there.

Honestly, what the hell?

I haven't played the game in a while so I never thought about it but yeah, wow eek I guess technically they could have been afraid with all the corruption the Godwins at least would avoid such a fate with all their influence, (They'd put more spins on the accusations than Peter Moore) but for that just hire some friggin Rokkaku ninjas and be done with it. It may be messy and there may be a dumb little pact, but it sure beats the alternative.

Most the suikoden games have their own retarded-ness. What Jowy did? What Luc did? Ridiculously wussy pirates helping an over-the-top "look I'm one of you guys!" king? C'mon.

Ugh, don't even get me started on Jowy. Or Luca Blight for that matter. Luc I'm willing to let slide because his motivation wasn't too idiotic, as far as villainous motivations go.

I believe that Sialeeds wanted to weed out the Godwins and the Barrows from the inside out- if she were to continue fighting in your army, the Prince could very well have trounced the Godwins- there is no doubt about that. However, despite how disgraced the Barrows may be, I believe that Salum was actually plotting something to regain his lost honour- which was why he seemed so smug when Sialeeds pretended to leave. 'course, he got killed before he could go through with it.

Then again, one could argue that despite how Euram apparently appears to be "regretful" of his actions, there's still the possibility of him continuing what his father never got to finish.

Quote:

The Godwins still hold a certain amount of influence, plus Gizel was still the Commander of the Queen's Knights, despite being a major baddie. I'm inclined to think that had they decided to execute Gizel, there would have been a second uprising. You get a majority of the support from your countrymen, yes, but that doesn't discount the fact that the Godwins still had their loyal followers. As for throwing them into Agate...if the dwarves could find a way out of there, I don't see why anyone else can't. It's a mindless plot hole.

One has to keep in mind that only very few people knew of the real story behind the entire rebel army- I doubt that they'd want to try the Barrows and the Godwins in court and in the process reveal the weakness of the current queen, which could end up in other nations taking advantage of the country's tumultuous civil war.

Couldn't they still get assassins though? True they disbanded Nether Gate and made a pact to end the bloodshed. But after seeing Gizel use them I think they would realize the pact helps no one, there will be bloodshed no matter what, and it's their loss. Besides, the path they chose had just about as much chaos and loss to the country as them officially trying to execute the Godwin's and Barrows.

...The whole entire plot of SV was a train-wreck, in my honest opinion.

At least there were the few characters to make up for that.

Yeah... The character work was pretty good, but the plot made little sense. Oh well, I still need to play it again.

Okay - freakiest thing ever.

I started replaying SV a little more than a month ago, and I was running around in Sol-Falena, you know, when you go to see Jeane with Kyle. So I was talking to a lot of people, and I can't remember where it was, but this old lady said quite possibly the most disturbing thing to me. I can't remember word for word, but this is basically the gist of it:

"Oh, that Galleon is so damn sexy! I wish I could have a chance with him! He makes me so wet! I wonder what he can do with that beard?"

I just about died when I read that. It was 10 times better than how I portrayed it, too. I would love to see a screenshot of that.

@Chikuu - Haha I remember that dirty old lady xDD; I think she was on the bridge when you enter town, I don't remember where exactly but she really liked Galleon lol.

so...not sure if anyone brought this up or not...but...whats everyones take on Leknaat in this one?
I didn't like the robotic voice at all...she lacked personality compared to the first few games. It bothered me. Anyone else feel the same?

dEFINITELY. sHE HASN'T BEEN QUITE THE SAME SINCE 3, THAT WAS THE LAST GAME SHE SHONE IN. Gah, sorry about that, stupid caps lock... I guess because the first 3 were in chronological order so her character had room to grow and develop, but since these are pre-Suikoden sequels they have to guess at how her characters would act. Plus the main Suikoden creator person left DURING the production of 3 if I'm not mistaken, so her character is now being written by new people.
