It was dark all around after she fell into the sand-covered pit, and the sand was continuing to flood in. Soon she would be buried. She fought against the sand's flow as it got in her fur, her mouth, her ears and eyes. Blindly she kept trying, forging her way up, even as she was buried by the sand. A tomb that would be hers. A sandy demise she assuredly did not want! On she fought, and somehow, somehow she emerged. She could not have known how, other than her pure determination not to perish. She was not entombed in sand any longer, but perhaps after her shaky legs almost refused to hold her weight now that she was free. Perhaps it was a good enough story to earn a name.
