Potato warbled sadly again, scooting down the railing a few inches before tilting his head at the body on the stairs, not responding to Char just yet. "Can you say Chrissa? Say Chrissa." The chatot parroted in a feminine voice he hadn't mimicked yet. "Chrissa?"

Char let out a low sad rumble and reached out to gently brush Potato's back with the back of one clawed hand.

Gauntlet observed curiously.
He wasn't entirely sure what all this was, to be honest, but the parrot-thing looked sad, and Aulus' butler also looked sad....
And the dead human looked... well, still dead.
Gauntlet adopted a sad expression to fit in.

There were lights and voices on the stairs, clustered where the stench of decay grew thickest. "Great Parrot of Hades," Hayes muttered when he caught up to Aulus, and tried to catch up with what was going on.
And not breathe in. That was also important.

"Say Chrissa," Potato repeated again in that same voice, though he warbled sadly afterward as he flapped back up to Char's shoulder, apparently giving up on getting the dead body's attention.

"Where does this route of yours come out?" Aulus asked of Daniel, weighing up whether to tag along the diversion or just go back down the stairs.
When Alex approached he rolled his eyes and gave a tiny nod of his head; words would be said about this later, many of them, and a lot of them not polite.

"Goes down to that, uh, main hallway. Lets out pretty much at the same place. Less dead stuff though. I like it. Steps are a bit steep but I don't mind that much." Given the lead, Daniel made his way back to the housing hall and to the unmarked residential hall beyond. The brief adventure took them to the room containing the wardrobe that Lex had ransacked earlier, and he frowned thoughtfully at it. "Huh. Someone covered it up." He stepped up and took hold of the furniture by its sides, then gradually wiggled it to a side until a gap in the paneling of the walls was revealed. It was narrow but at least wide enough for a human of an average size to pass through.

Tambrey lingered, looking back, and waiting to see what people were going to decide. If they /all/ decided to take this alternative route, she'd follow, otherwise she intended to take the stairs she knew, body or not, as long as anyone else was.

Faleen watched with interest as the man showed them into a gap in the paneling. and moved his way through.
Faleen followed after, shortly joined by her Absol, Zoroark she had to return for this part.
"Seems like a lot of trouble." the Agent noted.

Aulus grunted acknowledgement to Daniel but set off down the stairs he knew; Tortie was already at the bottom, Char was heading down and Tam was here too.
Paul hung onto Aulus' shoulder, very pleased to be back on what he considered the safest perch available despite earlier netting incidents.

Char gave Potato another stroke and carried on down the stairs. As he drew close to Tortie he met her eyes with a hard glare that dared her to comment.
Tortie huffed and decided not to.

Kailee followed daintily and light in foot. She had no preference on wither way, now knowing that they lead to the same place. Stood to reason though if someone covered it upstairs wouldnt they have covered down stairs? But she just watched him move the furniture and then raised a brow. So down they went.

"Would have been so much easier." He sighed and followed the girls down, recalling Howlback and started down, Glit playing rear guard.

It seems that two directions were being discussed because this Daniel didn't like the dead body or something. He wasn't a fan either, but he was numb to it by now.
With that, Tama just followed Aulus down the stairs because he was already there and he wasn't going to go down some path he knew nothing about.
