Sibyl looked at all of her nicks and cuts from the bullet wounds but none had entered her directly. She was only having a slight reaction to them, which was either her being somewhat sore like an irritable scrape or they were itchy and made her wish to claw at them. "Yeah," Sibyl responded, sounding a little annoyed, "I didn't need the whole damsel in distress act, though. I can walk and high tail it outta a bad situation myself without needing to be carried over someone's shoulder." She wasn't embarrassed about it but her pride definitely had been hurt seeing as she'd been of fairly high rank in her pack before coming to New York.

"Then next time high tail it out yourself." he said reaching into his shoulder and pulling the remains of a bullet from it. His legs hadn't suffered as much as he would have expected. They were obviously trained to kill, not to wound. "Ever seen anyone like that before?"

"The point was I was planning to high tail it out myself in the first place and would have if given the opportunity." She rolled her eyes slightly and then added, "I know I sound ignorant and all but my pack's trained me well, I was bred to fight. I can hold up on my own for a bit at the very least and I know what I'm doing. Yes, I know you've got more experience and whatnot but still, don't let that blind you to seeing that I can also be skilled and experienced without being all that old." Sibyl absolutely hated being stereotyped, it was something that baffled and bothered her to no ends. "And nope, they were like some sort of prepped miniature army. I've never seen anything like it before.

Jaden flicked his ears irritably. "Fine. But I'll tell you this. Before this city back when I was born I wasn't trained in even the traditional sense. But if I was trained to do anything it was to kill. Not fight but kill. I have survived a lot worse than that. I'm only in this position because I'm sleeping with the beta female and the old alpha vanished. Before that I was the enforcer to this group. Somebody doesn't work I broke them. People try to harm the pack, I killed them. It was really, really simple. But now I have to be the good guy and protect everyone. I'll tell you what, it's a lot harder, and even more so when people are ungrateful for it." He huffed and sat down on the couch in a foul mood.

Sibyl sighed, emotions were so confusing when you were still learning how all of them worked. She'd tried to sound reasonable and not offend him but apparently that hadn't worked out. "Of course I'm grateful for it," she said to him, in no way attempting to suck up but just being blunt, "you kept my hind quarters along with the rest of me in tact. I shall salute you or something too, if you want. I'm just trying to say that I can get out of messes without being helped. I'm just used to being a lone wolf so I should get used to being in a pack setting again. Sorry for sounding ungrateful, will you forgive me?" She didn't like things ending on a rough note so she followed him to the couches. "If you're pissed I can leave, too. Whatever works."

"No..." He said... "You know... I'm really used to being a lone wolf too.... that's the way I did things for over a hundred years... Being back in a pack setting only helps reinforce how you need to start relying on others...." He reached into his arm and pulled out another fragment of sliver. "Doesn't mean I'm still not pissed off though... It's been awhile since I've been shot at that much and I was sort of hoping it wouldn't happen much anymore."

Sibyl couldn't help but smile, lots of times it seemed that all it took was some small thing that people shared in common to help them better understand something. This had apparently happened in their case and it'd made Jaden a slight bit less upset so that was a good thing. "Yeah. I'm used to relying on myself for the most part since I strayed from the pack a lot and explored on my own. That's kind of why I'm the only one from my pack here. They'd never come here, it's so putrid here."
She then listened to his comment about being shot and felt a little guilty. "Yeah, that's another reason I suppose I don't like people looking after me. Often enough, it gets them hurt. And now you're pissed off because you picked me up and ran slower because of it. Anything I can do to help you sting less or something that'll take your mind off it? Some people have little rituals of sorts like music but I guess I'm like that too, though I just wander off."

"Hey." Jaden poked Sibyl in a manner similar to being playful. "You didn't slow be down at all. If you did you must weigh 500 pounds. I got shot because the only way I could get out of there fast enough was on all fours and that meant I had to pretty much quadruple in size so I was a bigger target. You're blaming yourself too much." He began licking his left arm and nipping at it.

Sibyl had to remember to bite back a snarl and force herself not to shred Jaden's finger by turning around and not facing him momentarily. She was not used to human interaction, her family did not poke her for they were not truly humans. She hadn't spent all that much time with humans and being with people who acted like them had been weird enough. Being poked was just not something normal to her yet and it had taken her off guard. "I'd hope I don't weigh that much, though I can enlarge my wolven form but not to five hundred pounds. Then again I don't measure so. And you forgot to answer whether or not I can do something to help get your mind off being shot."

"I doubt it's what you're suggesting but I already have a mate. I'm just a little worried about your wounds." He said gripping her arm in his powerful hand and pulling it up. Sighing to himself almost he began licking the scratches on her arm.

Sibyl sighed as Jaden decided to somewhat taint her innocent words with his ego and apparently perverted mind. "You mentioned that a few moments ago and whatnot with being the pack leader thing. Though I'm a teenager, I was actually being completely innocent with that statement. You see, I can tell who have mates already and not, it's just some weird wolf sense of mine." As for Jaden licking the scratches on her arm, that wasn't strange to her since she'd had wounds licked before by her pack. It felt kind of alien since she really didn't know Jaden and hadn't grown up with him but his intent seemed innocent enough.

"Forgive me for presuming such things." he muttered. "I'm kind of lacking in social graces." He stopped licking and looked at her body carefully. "No actual wounds? Just scratches?" He didn't know how well Sibyl could tolerate silver in her blood but she probably wouldn't have his tolerance.

Sibyl couldn't help but smile at the words she'd preached to others herself so many times, time and time again. "Now where have I heard," she asked herself rhetorically, "that phrase before? Couldn't be from someone who is still learning how to behave like a human like myself, oh no." She smiled once again and then listened to the remainder of what he had to say to, or rather, ask her. "No, just got grazed and nicked, nothing to worry about. Thanks for the concern, though, you're doing pretty alright for a pack leader who used to just be punisher and destroyer."

"Yeah, the short temper really helps with that." Jaden muttered with sarcasm, more directed at himself than at Sibyl. "And the getting shot at and picked on. I really want to kill people but I'm not supposed to anymore. It's so annoying sometimes... So where are you from anyway?"

She smiled lightly. "I'm sure it does, just as my instinct to kill just about anyone who touches me unexpectedly helps me with not creeping the hell out of people. They seem to naturally get bad vibes from me because they know I'm different but can't place quite place what's different." She listened to his second string of words and considered them herself. "Yeah having to be diplomatic sucks when you can just duke it out in a mini battle to decide who's right and who's wrong. That's what I'm used to anyhow, you have an issue then you fight to resolve it. Whoever loses gets to be angry, not have their way and have their pride hurt if they have any." Yet again another smile creeped through as Jaden actually bothered to ask her a personal question. "I'm from La Push, less than an hour away from Forks, Washington. It's reserve land."
