Maravel bowed low. "It is the very least that I could do," he told Lin sincerely. "For my part in all that has happened, I am forever in your debt. If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to ask."
Obeying his mother, Andarien moved to set down his father's cloak and larger weapons where Lin had indicated.

Glancing over her shoulder to see how awake Earendil was at the moment (he still looked pretty groggy to her), she turned back to Maravel.
"At the moment we seem to be fine, although..." she glanced again at Earendil, "I think Earendil is waking up so if you don't mind getting Kyrie and the others like they requested..."
Maravel had said that Kyrie had requested they call them once Earendil was up.
MIyuki also put the rest of Earendil's things on the table. Though with their ada awake, she wanted to go check to see how he was doing.

Maravel bowed again. "I will do as you ask," he promised; and with a final smile, he headed off to find the required people.
Having put down his father's things, Andarien stood next to the table and looked back and forth between his mother and his father. He wanted to go closer to his father, but like Lin, he had noticed how tired his father still seemed, and he had the feeling it would probably be best not to overtax him immediately.
Earendil blinked a few times, trying to clear his eyes, and then he yawned.
"Lin," he murmured, his voice thick, "is everything all right?"

"Everything is fine, Maravel came by and with the children's help brought back your things, including the elf stones," Lin assured him as she made her way back to the bed.
She sat on the edge of the bed and reached over simply to run her fingers through his hair.
"Kyrie has asked for us to call for her, Lancerial and Cael once you woke up. I think they would like to check you over again."
Miyuki leaned over to her brother, "Maybe we can sit on the end of the bed, as long as we're not tiring him?"

Earendil smiled blissfully as Lin ran her fingers through his hair, and he reached around her side to tug her closer to him.
"As long as they leave us alone eventually," he murmured playfully, gazing up at her.
Andarien nodded quickly at Miyuki's suggestion. Surely they wouldn't be a bother sitting at the end of the bed. He still wanted more reassurance that their father would be all right. At least, as well as could be - Andarien already knew that Earendil's sight and hearing would never be the same again.
He grinned at Miyuki and then headed over to do just that.

Miyuki followed her brother, it was a big bed, even for an adult sized elf, probably meant for two people. So it wasn't hard for the two of them to sit at the edge of the bed.
Lin chuckled at this as she felt the bed shift slightly.
"I'm sure once everything checks out they will," she told him.

Earendil sighed and took Lin's hands in his own. "I'm not sure everything will check out," he told her seriously. "Unless you've started talking quietly again, my hearing hasn't changed since yesterday, nor has my sight. I don't know, maybe continued rest will help a bit more, but ..."
He wasn't going to hold his breath on it.
Andarien smiled sadly. He wanted his ada to feel better immediately, but it seemed that wasn't to be. Still, he was alive, and nothing else was going to happen to him now. They were all safe. That was what mattered.

"Still, making sure there aren't any other problems would be good," Lin told him, "And there are ways around the sight, and we can make adjustments in what we do for your hearing."
She wasn't sure if any of the elven countries had anything like glasses (though she was sure Caras Galadhon did). Hearing, well that would be a behaviour adjustment on their part and if Earendil used sign language they could still talk even in a noisy environment. If he didn't, she could teach. It wasn't something she used often, but between Iris, and Skye, she did kind of have to know it.

Earendil had to concede that, but he sighed as he pulled himself into a sitting position. "You have a point," he admitted reluctantly.
The moment the words were out of his mouth, there was a knock at the door. It was loud enough for Earendil to hear, though barely, and he wasn't even sure he heard anything. He glanced at Lin. "Someone at the door?" he asked her.

"Yep!" Lin leaned over to give him a quick peck on the cheek before bounding off the bed and to the door.
She opened it, already guessing who it might be.

The only ones at the door were Cael and Lancaeriel, since their room was right across the hall and Kyrie's room was elsewhere, and it would take her a bit longer to arrive.
"Good morning," Lancaeriel greeted them warmly in the Common Tongue, her eyes bright. "How is everyone this morning?"
"I hope everyone was able to rest well," Cael added, also speaking in the Common Tongue. "You weren't lacking anything?"

"Everything was fine," Lin assured him as she moved to let the two into the room, "Come on in."
"Morning Lancaeriel, Cael!" Miyuki called out to the two.

The two entered, both of them smiling brightly. "Good morning, Miyuki!" Lancaeriel beamed at her. "And how is my favourite student this morning?"
Cael pouted at his wife. "Your favourite student?" he asked her. "Ever?"
Lancaeriel laughed and slipped one arm around his waist. "All right, then, second favourite," she grinned at him.
Andarien looked between the two. "Huh?"

Miyuki looked between Lancaeriel and Cael, unlike Andarien that piece of conversation told her a lot.
Or rather it was Cael's reaction that told her a lot.
"You were Cael's teacher originally?" Miyuki asked to see if she was right.

Cael chuckled. "Oh, yes. And quite the taskmaster she was, too."
Lancaeriel pushed his shoulder. "Hey," she laughed, blushing.
Earendil chuckled at their banter. He would be the first to admit that it was nice seeing Lancaeriel like this, being as he was used to seeing her pine after her husband.
