Sure enough, there they were - the bird-like figures that seemed to slowly ooze tendrils of the strange fog. They swooped at him, and he met their assault with his staff.

Shaw climbed up the last ridge, and paused on the clifftop, admiring the view.
He could see the giant falls in the distance, and the impressive temple with its many shrines and statues. The view was breathtaking - he thought he could almost make out the ruined city and the spire in the distance, if he looked hard enough.
Clutching his prize to his chest, he began the journey back to the ground below.
