"Yesssss!" He answered, pleased that the other shadow with a heart of red had answered him. "Isn't it funnnn? Woooon-der-ful, even~" His words were slightly lilted, a sing-song quality added to them now as though he were experimenting with his way of speech. He barked out a sharp laugh, still grinning that barely visible grin.
Another orb of crystallized light hovered near, but was this time ignored. He had found something more interesting to focus on for the moment! He would get back to his task in due course~

Oephis didn't answer his question at first, instead chosing to pluck up the fragment the other red heart had decided to ignore. As her fingers touched it, she heard the word.
Needle.
It was ignored and she offered a small shrug. "I suppose," her fragment was held up in front of her face, allowing her to look it over. "It's easy enough. Or maybe I'm just lucky," she tossed the fragment in the air, caught it as it fell and put it in her pocket. "That's number two. What about you?"

Ah she was a show off, this one! He barked another laugh and held up a hand, fingers and thumb all holding the crystal up by it's base.
"One." He murmured, his grin lapsing into a softer smile, one to match the soft, warm glow of grey.
"Only one." He spoke louder now, and glanced around as though in search of another. There! His arm swung out towards it, but his perception of its distance was off, and he grabbed at nothing but air instead.
What a shame! Oh well~

She spoke as though almost....what was the word....ashamed? by her good fortune and achievement. His grin turned lopsided, and he reached out to pay her on top of the head lightly.
Ok, joking and fun times aside, it was time to get more serious with this task! The goddess had mentioned him getting a shape, and becoming more what he was, and he was curious as to what that meant.
While he gave himself the small, inward pep talk, he completely missed that there was yet another fragment hovering near.

Oephis shifted. She wasn't used to the feeling of being touched. The feeling of having a form; however incomplete it was. She felt small. She didn't like that. She cleared her throat and her hand entered her pocket, fingers fiddling with the fragments.
"What is your name?" She ignored the fragment; hoping he would notice it. When he didn't, she let it float off. It was the polite thing to do.

"Lexaadren." He replied promptly, his attention focusing back on her, flitting from thought to though and seemingly unable to stay the course though he had tried.
A little....
"Lex is easier to say though, I think. Do you agree?" He was grinning again, completely unaware that she might be feeling uncomfortable.
"I sup-poooose I should get on with the task." Something in his voice probably gave away how much he didn't really care if he got on with it or not, though when the fragment he hadn't notice before began to hover away, he shuffled after it, and snatched it out of the air.
Sister....
"Sister." He repeated the word out loud, though quietly whispered with a laugh, not really understanding what it meant and finding it all terribly amusing for some reason. But it was unimportant. There was warmth, which was much more interesting to dwell upon.

She repeated his name; trying to mimic his pronunciation without much luck. She shook her head and gave a nod. "Lex is much easier." She smiled softly as he grasped the fragment, reaching out to grasp her own, fingers pinching the tip for a moment before it went into her pocket.
Dead.
She thought she heard him say something but figured it was a trick and shrugged it off. "I'm Oephis." The pronunciation was a little odd and it almost seemed like perhaps even she wasn't sure if it was right or not. "Ephi is easier, though."

"Ephi." He repeated, "I like it!" And he did like it, because it was indeed a very nice name, one that had a pleasing quality about it.
"It is nice to meet you, Ephi." He continued to grin, the words he came up with just seeming like the right thing to say though he didn't know why. So much of what he did and said seemed purely instinctual, but was another of those things he gave barely any thought or further consideration towards.
"You must be nearly finished?" He asked, watching as she snagged yet another crystal from the air.
Turning away from her, assuming she would probably follow now, he shuffled some distance off over craggy ground and around jutting rocks, leaning over one treacherous looking spike in particular to make a grab for another fragment.
Yin Cang A name, a startling one that brought with it more warmth and for just a moment niggled at his brain, before it faded and was forgotten once more.

Seriously, she was going to be waiting for a very long time because Lex really didn't seem too bothered to put in any outstanding amount of effort, and when he did finally at least try, he would stumble and nearly fall flat on his face.
