Lael nods. "Let's just hope that's enough time to get completely prepared," she says.

The demon nodded, then seemed startled by a sound from the forest that only he could hear. He dashed off, whether towards or away from the sound none could tell.
"That was odd," Darian said after watching the demon run into the forest, "But at least he got the shed open. I guess we should start arming the troops."

A strange sound is heard from the forest nearby - something between a gunshot and the twang of a bow. A bluejay comes bursting out of the forest, having a difficult time flying since his left wing is smoking. His back, which is usually just black and blue, has some red on it.
Kitara hears the sound and, running out to the front of the house (worried about Jay), sees the bluejay. ``Jay!´´ she cries, starting to run to catch him. However, not ten feet from the house, she is detained by a round of arrows. ``Sh**! We've got company!´´
She dives into the house, arrows barely missing her feet. Jay flies into the room right behind her, falling to the ground as an arrow pierces his left wing.
Ana runs out to the back of the house and says, ``No time left, Philip. They're here.´´
The Mystics from upstairs come rushing down saying, ``We couldn't get anything because we're surrounded and they started shooting arrows upstairs.´´
Lord Yushino had been able to close the door after Kitara and Jay burst in. He kneels down to Kitara. ``You alright?´´
She shakes her head clear before getting up and crawling to Jay. ``Jay, dear, how are you?´´
He twitters a slight ``I could be better...´´, his eyes closing from the pain in his wing.
((OOC: Let's get this massacre on, then... I mean, more action.))

Lael rushes into the main room when she hears the sounds. Seeing Jay, she kneels down next to Kitara,
"They're here, aren't they?" she says. Without waiting for a reply she looks at Jay. "Can you change into your elven form? I can't treat you as a blue jay."

``They're here and Jay can't change into his Elvish form unless we get the arrow out of his wing. If he tried to change right now, the arrow would break his arm completely though right now it's not in the bone itself,´´ Kitara says, picking up the bird, ``He's tried it once before and he was put up for about two months, unable to change into his bluejay form. If he had been able to, though, it would have been as if he didn't have a wing at all.´´
Kitara turns her green eyes to Lael and says, ``It gets tricky with changing between species, to say the least.´´
She then cautiously blows on Jay's wing to get rid of the smoke. Luckily, there is no damage to the wing, though a few of the feathers were singed. The red on his back, when she looks closer to it, is obviously blood.
Shots are heard all around and a window nearby shatters with a gunshot. Some of the glass cuts Kitara's arm but all she can think of is getting Jay to somewhere safer, so she pushes herself up and heads towards the back of the house.
``Damn,´´ she says, sitting down again on the floor.

Lael nods. "Okay. Let's get him into the office. I can get the arrow out there." She goes up the stairs, trying to remain calm.

Kitara nods and stumbles to her feet, Jay still in her arms. She goes into the office after Lael.
``Got something to cut the arrow without yanking his wing?´´ she asks, setting him down on Philip's desk.

"Well, we'll have to pull it out. But we can make it as easy as possible. It shouldn't damage the wing." She cuts the feathers off the arrow and carefully looks at the wound. "I'm afraid I can't give you any pain killers. I don't know what effect they'll have on a bird." She carefully pulls the arrow out of the wound with one hand, holding the wing still with the other. "There," she says, with a sigh. "That's about all I can do while you're in bird form. I'm no vet, I'm afraid."

After Lael pulls the arrow out of Jay's wing, Kitara nods and says, ``Excuse us for a second.´´
Holding Jay, she walks into the next room and closes the door. After a few seconds, the door opens and Kitara comes out, supporting the elvish Jay upright. She makes him sit down on the desk then tells him to take his shirt off (which is now covered with blood). She takes a look at his left arm, which is now bleeding since the arrow had been taken out of it.

While they're out of the room Lael readies what she'll need. Once Jay is seated she also looks at the wound.
"Luckily," she begins after a few minutes, "it's not as bad as it looks. Bad, but not as bad as it looks." She begins to bandage the wound tightly. "That should stop the bleeding. I'm more worried about the amount of blood you lost than the wound itself."

Darian ducked into the shed to avoid a volley of arrows. When he came out, he was holding one of the muskets. "Let's hope I can still use this thing," he said, ducking behind a water barrel. "It doesn't look like you have enough powder for me to reload too often, especially if you want those others to be used." He popped out from behind the barrel, sighted carefully and quickly, and fired, running back for the shed without looking to see if the man he had fired at had fallen.

Philip had ducked into the shed after Darian when the arrows had started flying.
He hands the elf a powder pouch before saying, ``I need to get these into the house for the rest.´´
Lord Okalwa waits for a rest in the arrow minefield and, when the coast looks clear, he takes an armful of guns into the house as arrows barely miss his feet. He stumbles into the house and, finding some blood on the floor already, shakes his head as he hands the six guns around.
``There's more guns in the shed. We just need to get them.´´ ---- The blue eyed elf straightens up, a grimace in his expression, before he turns to Kitara.
-Well, if it's a fight they want, why don't we give it to them? Where's my bow and arrow?- he asks her in bluejay.
She sighs then replies, -Our bows and arrows are in the kitchen, dear.-
Jay nods and says, -Let's give them a fight they won't forget.-
He leaves the office to get the bows and arrows as Kitara turns to Lael, ``Thank you, Lael. I wish there was more I could do to thank you, but at the moment, there is nothing else aside words and fighting.´´

Lael sighs, saying to herself, "Normally I would tell him to take it easy for a few weeks, but considering the circumstances..." She shakes her head. To Kitara she says, "You don't need to thank me. I'm just doing my job."

Darian reloaded the musket, ducked out of the shed, sighted and fired. He then ducked back in and repeated the process. After about the fifth repetition, he could not really be sure in the confusion, he noticed the the number of arrows narrowly missing him each time he left the shed to take a shot was lessening. Guess I've still got it. Can't stop know though. When he ducked out next, he overheard an elven voice shouting "I want the blue-hair alive! He'd be valuable to us if we could convince him to join us. Look at how he shoots, not like any Mystic I've ever seen!" Darian fired toward the voice, and was greeted by a curse, although the voice doing the cursing was a different one. He ducked into the shed again. Looks like you got their attention. Keep at it, for now they won't kill you. Take as many as you can before that changes.

Kitara nods and rushes after Jay. Together with their bows and arrows, they take an area closer to the front of the house. -Let's show them what Elves can do,- Jay twitters to Kitara. -To the end,- she responds, setting her bow.
-------- Arelen descends the stairs, her left arm limp, showing a broken bone and bleeding, and her eyes almost blank. There is a calm pain in her face, no emotion other than that. She walks to the kitchen, where she finds her mother with an arrow in her leg.
``Arelen, save yourself, my daughter,´´ Anafontes says, grimacing as she tries to pull herself away from the windows.
``There's no point. She's here and there's nothing going to stop her. It's going to be a massacre....´´
------- A navy blue haired female works her way around the town, staying out of sight of the attackers. Her bow and arrow stay tied to her back as she carries her gun.
:You know this is suicide, right?: a voice says in her head.
She nods and thinks back, 'Yes but I have to help your family now. If not, no one's going to survive.'
:But how do we get back without getting killed on the way in?:
'It's your hometown, deary, you should know,' she thinks, her dark grey eyes sparkling as she slides through the forest.
:It's going to be deadly. Don't you dare kill us!:
'Trust me, I've had a lot more experience with this kind of thing than you've had, Margem. I'll make it through.'
------- Philip Okalwa had heard what the voice had said. 'If they only knew that he wasn't a Mystic, he could get the others out of here before something huge happens.'
He dashes over to the shed, deftly missing the arrows. ``Well, looks like you have an admirer or someone who wants you to be a servant. What kind of gift would you like to send them?´´
------ A stone-grey cloaked woman stands among the ranks above the town. She grins before becoming serious and turning to the next ranking officer.
``Yes, he'll do just fine in our ranks. We just need to get rid of the others. Bring out the cannons and flamethrowers.´´
She turns back to face the town and the little holdout.
``If we don't smoke them out, they'll just be trophies for my cabinet.´´
