Leon Court " I'm home!" called a familiar deep voice, the door opening and closing with a resounding clap. Heavy boots could be heard being taken off at the front of the house, placed on the holder that Nikolai and Leon had bought just days ago. After hanging his thick coat and long green scarf, the muscled teacher (who had just recently gotten his job back thanks to Nikolai) ventured into the house, stopping behind the Sin and leaning down to kiss his temple. " Mm, hello, darling~" he purred lovingly, his strong arms wrapping around the slender male, warm despite the cold. " I missed you so much today. I thought you were going to come and visit me."

ϨʟфϮɧ  Nikolai resisted the urge to move, if even to look over his shoulder. This had happened far too often. Leon would stay away for nearly an entire day, and although the Soviet would be displeased with it, he'd eagerly welcome the man home each time he came back, even if it lasted for a minute or two. Not this time. He had to confront Leon about their situation, and if his suspicions were true... " Apologies, dearie, I didn't want to break your concentration." Nikolai murmured, still staring at the networks changing at the press of a button. " How was your time with Maggie?" he asked in a low tone.  ............................................................................... ...............................................................................

Leon CourtLeon blinked, confused by the cold welcoming. Shaking away the feelings, he removed himself from Nikolai and circled the couch, leaning on the armrest closest Nikolai and crossing his arms. " No different than usual," he shrugged, curious eyes watching his lover of so long. " Only today, she was too tired from drills from yesterday to come on to me too much. Barely even spoke back to me when I told her that her endiri form was off. She can't seem to get transformations right, but I left her with my second-in-command, since he's better at it than I am, so she should have it under control by her trial run next week." The Neutralisa gazed down at Nikolai, reaching out to set his hand on Nikolai's shoulder. " Darling, what's wrong? You're tense."

ϨʟфϮɧ " Too tired, hmm? My, you're certainly working her hard." Nikolai mumbled under his breath while keeping his gaze forward. Part of him wanted to just push these feelings aside and hug Leon, but he wouldn't allow it. If he gave in then this cycle of mistrust and suspicious would only delve deeper and deeper. He couldn't let that happen. He had to confront Leon now. Noticing the hand moving towards him out of the corner of his eye, the Sin scooted to the side of the couch away from Leon and managed to escape his reach. Don't call me darling, he though venomously, but instead of saying that, all he said was, " You didn't come home last night." ..............................................................................................................................................................

Leon CourtLeon stood to his full height, crossing his arms in front of his thick chest and frowning deeply down at the Russian. " Exactly what are you suggesting, Nikolai?" he boomed, eyes narrowing at the man and shoulders tense. " You aren't actually assuming that I'm sleeping with her, are you?"

Leon Court" You can't be serious!" he exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air and backing up a step. " I'm training her to be a Neutralisa, that doesn't mean I'm sleeping with her. Hell, I trained three other Neutralisas with the same effects, does that mean I slept with them too?" He stepped closer, leaning down to set his hands on either side of Nikolai and pin him in place. " I fought out of Heaven to be with you, Nikolai. I could have stayed up there with her, but I chose not to. I chose to come back to you, because I love you, and not her. Why can't you just trust me? Why can't you believe in me?!"

ϨʟфϮɧ " Because she loves you!" Nikolai yelled back, looking Leon fiercely in the eye, yet deep down his lime green eyes held some fear. Not a fear of getting struck, but a fear that he was right. " She fought Heaven for you, she chose you over everyone else, and she gets to be by your side every minute of every day! You've done this before, yes, but with your ex-wife? Someone you've spent intimate moments with?! You see less of me and more of her every day, who knows when your feelings will shift!" ..............................................................................................................................................................

Leon Court" And you think that will make me love her again?" he said, voice softer than before. " Nikolai, you are the only person in this world that matters, and I know that you feel the same way. Every second I am forced to be with her, I spend thinking of how I can get back to you. I make her work so hard to keep her at a distance. Do you think she's supposed to run five miles a day, do all those push-ups, sit-ups, all that work, because it will benefit her? I'm trying to make her fail, to keep her from me, because I know how much you would hate for her to be by me at all times. I risked everything for you, and you can't even trust me to remain faithful! Out of the two of us, Nikolai, and be honest, who would you trust to be faithful less, me or you?!" Leon stood up straight, bowing his head and not looking at the Sin. " Her love is a ghost of what was years ago. Any feelings, romantic or even sympathetic, disappeared when she revealed that she was pregnant, and that she held no remorse for what she'd done. I was never intimate with her, in any way, other than a few meaningless words every now and again. I meant everything with you, Nikolai. I love you more than I've ever loved another being, but if you can't even trust me, how can we have a future?" Without another word, Leon strode away, stooping to grab his boots and tug them on at the front door. He needed to get away, before he said something else he'd regret.

ϨʟфϮɧ Nikolai hesitated. He couldn't say anything else that hasn't been said already, yet Leon still had so many more reasons to not want Maggie and him instead. The Sin looked away and ran a hand through his silver curls. So he was paranoid this entire time, was that it? Was he just so scared that he could lose Leon? He was afraid of- Don't say it.Nikolai closed his eyes. Yes, yes, that dreaded word he was forbidden to say. It was also, he realized, what he feared. He never felt this way for anyone other than Grigori, and now he had just scared that man off with his paranoia. " I'm so sorry, Leon." he whispered and opened his eyes to see that the man was not there. " Leon?" he blinked, rising from his seat and looking around. Hearing distant sounds, Nikolai followed it to see the purple-haired man near the front door. His heartbeat began to rise. He was leaving? " Wh-Where are you going?" the Sin asked while hurrying over to him. ..............................................................................................................................................................

Leon CourtLeon hesitated as he reached for the second boot, almost stopping completely. One fight, and he was already needing to go out and take a walk to cool down? They really needed help as a couple. Heh, maybe Ezekiel knew a thing or two about counseling. Pushing away a chuckle, the man continued, yanking the second boot on. " What does it matter? You're just going to assume I'm having an affair, so do I really need to bother telling you?" he replied, standing and opening the coat closet.

ϨʟфϮɧ The Sin paused when he heard Leon's response, looking as though he had been struck. Those words hurt, but they were so painful because of how true it was. Biting his lip, he lunged forward and hugged Leon from behind, burying his shameful face into his back. " I'm sorry." he said in a shaky voice. " I'm so sorry. ϨʟфϮɧ Nikolai's entire being began to tremble. He couldn't hold back anymore, he had to tell Leon. He had to prove that this wasn't just a fling, he had to fully trust him like he trust him. Nikolai, what are you doing?" I do trust you, Leon. I know you wouldn't do anything to harm me in any way." he said in a shuddering voice. Stop. You know what'll happen." I was jealous. That woman didn't mean anything to you but she could tell you so many things I couldn't say." Only one word, there was only one word that she could say that he couldn't, but it held such strength. He had to tell Leon. He didn't care what the consequences were, it would all be worth it! Nikolai! You'll die if you say it!!Nikolai closed his eyes when he heard Sloth for the third time. To die happy or live miserably? I would rather die than have him hate me, he told the Sin. His hands slid away from Leon's front and clenched the back of his shirt tightly. With his fists in sight, he could see how badly he was trembling. His heartbeat was racing, he felt like he would pass out or get sick. A sad smile crossed his face. So this was what it was like to confess, was it? All those nerves the people of his past must have felt, all that hope and fear. What an overwhelming and troublesome thing. " I'm so sorry, Leon." Nikolai!" I do trust you, I've just been scared," It's not worth it!!" I've been so scared that I would lose you," What about me?!" and that's because..." STOP!!!Nikolai closed his eyes and smiled to himself, a stray tear rolling down his cheek.
