Kasi didn't say much more afterwards, just a simple 'we'll see about that' which was a normal response. However, it didn't take much deduction to see that she was upset by his words, or actions or both. Well, he wasn't exactly here to make friends or be on anyone's good graces, so he just ignored it for the most part, placing Ariados's red and white pokeball in the designated slot. He didn't get a chance to do much else either as Kasi pulled the lever starting the whole process right away. This was a reaction he didn't expect to come from her at all, he definitely struck a chord. Both spheres were taking in by the machine, the big green on the top of it displaying the silhouettes of both pokemon involved as they traveled from one side to the other and before long there was a great ball sitting in the spot where Ariados's ball had been before, and vise versa on Kasi's end. As he picked up his new Muk he inspected the ball, even he had to admit there was a small part of him that had wanted Ariados to work out. He had so many strategies revolving around her webs he never got to try out, but Kasi was a capable trainer who he'd battled first hand, maybe Ariados would fit her style better. But this pokemon, this mobile puddle of sludge, this was his replacement and had a whole new array of strategies and characteristics to work with. Yes, a new project was something to keep his mind focused from straying to things it shouldn't. With Muk and with Elgyem, the latter being a newborn, he was going to have his hands full. "Well, that settles that. Thanks I guess." He clipped the ball to his belt, somewhat enjoying the feel of having a full roster again, and turned to notice for the first time that the whole crew had pretty much gathered there to watch the trade take place. "...hmph." He placed his hands in his pockets, walking past them all heading for the exit. He paused for a moment in front of Riza, turning his head to address her. "I'll be outside." He wanted to put as much distance as he could between himself and the little group before the idea was formed that he was a part of it, but he wasn't going to stop Riza from socializing. He only hoped that she'd had her fill too, he wasn't sure if he could handle another third wheel now that Ken was gone. Once safely outside he leaned against the building, lighting up a much needed cigarette and sighing deeply after taking a long hard drag.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The Budew was very cute, but playing with it wasted too much time. The little dear. Ken sighed as he thought back on it, but shook his head as his first stop was upon him. Jubilife City. Big and fancy, home to the TV Station of Sinnoh. They broadcast all over the region and even further out if you've got the right hook up. I could get it back home if I wanted, but I don't watch TV these days. All these reality shows and competitions to find out the best person in all the land that you'll never here from again. Fifteen minuet idols crushed dreams and a generation glued to the box every waking moment making their minds rot and their wits dull. The pokemon center seemed like a good place to start, as good a place as any. Whether of not Joy remembered Jae he couldn't say but it was worth the inquiry. He was sure Jae would have moved onwards and was heading north, but if he had gone to Canalave or Oreburgh, or both eve then he would have come back through here a second time. Someone was sure to have seen him then with two trips into Jubelife, and depending on how much time he was in either if at all then he may even still be at this junction city. Most trainers run into battle more than once when going in to or out of a city so it as almost guaranteed that he'd visited the Jubelife center at least twice recently. Deciding on checking it out for a lead, Ken was off. As he walked by a store window he saw a TV with a commercial for Nanab Berries, with a mascot that was covered in them and even shot them from his nose, flying away with his nanab fingers to a light hearted jingle. ...Yeah, I don't watch TV these days,

In Keegan's mind, there were two possible ways that Kasiya would respond, and he fiercely wiped his eyes with the backs of his hands and relinquished his hold on the door. He figured that she'd either vehemently deny it and possibly attack him, Litwick or not while she screeched something terrible, or she'd accept it, also possibly with anger, and they'd both spend the next ten minutes in this closet bawling their eyes out. For a moment, it looked as though indignant denial had won out over humble acceptance and he braced himself for the worst, but the worst never came as she'd started to look quite defeated, and suddenly he felt very, very guilty for having said that in the first place.
"Well, they do have quite a history," he admitted, but he didn't know what else to say on that subject. He wanted to mention that Flannery had turned him down in favor of Mike once before, but he didn't think it would help his case right now. He looked up at Kasiya as she continued, her words still managing to cut like a knife, and he shrugged. "I don't know," he said. "I guess it isn't fair, but it's not like anything in my life has ever been fair. Sure, I'm not ecstatic or anything, but, at this point, I guess I'd rather be your second choice than not a choice at all."
He weakly reached out to push a stray lock of blonde hair from her face, and he smiled. "Besides, I don't know what it is about you, but you make me want to be a better person. No one has ever had that effect on me before, so that definitely makes you special. But no matter what, even if you choose to be with Mike or nobody at all, I'll always love you, and I'll always wait for you. Always." ===== It was after suppertime when Miharu and Lee made it to Olivine City, their arrival highlighted by the heavy scent of the ocean in the air. There was also the occasional sound of a ship in the harbor and Miharu occasionally caught glimpses of vast blue between the buildings as they made their way through the city towards a trainer's traditional first stop upon arriving in a new town - the Pokemon Center. With the help of well-placed signs and Miharu's good memory, they found the red-roofed building in a limited amount of time. Though many of their Pokemon were still in full health from before, they opted to have all of them given treatment. By now, Lee could see that Miharu was starting to look a little nervous, as they still had plenty of time to head to the gym, but she'd become hesitant, apprehensive even, and he knew he needed her to go into that gym and challenge Jasmine if his plan was going to work.
Once the Pokemon were all fully healed, Lee convinced Miharu to have a light dinner, as both she and all her Pokemon would need their energy, and though all the Pokemon ate their food without incident, Miharu only nibbled at hers at first, and she did manage to get through most of it in the end. Once all their dishes were returned and Pokemon put back in their respective Pokeballs, it was time to head to the gym. "You ready for this, M?" Lee asked, as they stepped outside of the Center.
"Yes, I'm ready," Miharu said, giving a firm nod. "Let's go."

[Time Skip]
Kilik glanced up to the entrance of the cave and raised an eyebrow as Katie explained to him the usual findings inside. Geodudes and Zubats? Typical cave fair, he figured. Though the only cave he was ever in more than once was the Rusturf Tunnel back home and that was only filled with Whismur. Then he felt his heart fall into his stomach when she mentioned "Sinnoh Drop Bears". "Sinnoh Drop..." he gulped, "bears?" He imagined something akin to an Ursaring, just clinging to the ceiling and dropping down on unsuspecting trainers and mauling them into gory oblivion. A chill ran up his spine and he glanced over at not only the Flareon on his shoulder, but the Electivire behind him. With the two of them, he'd be safe. Right? He watched as Katie walked in front of him and he snapped back into reality. What was he doing?! Letting a girl walk into a cave all by herself? "Wait up!"
He ran up next to her and puffed out his chest, still visibly shaken by the idea of these Sinnoh Drop Bears. "It was dangerous to go in here alone! What if one of those bears had gotten you?" He smiled down at her and clenched his fist a little. "Don't worry!" he said, glancing up at the ceiling to see the many stalactites above him. "If one of those things comes down, I'll protect you!" Though he really wondered how well he could protect her if he was being torn to shreds by a massive bear. Were all caves in Sinnoh like that? Did they all have these Drop Bears? Were they Pokemon? Could they just be captured? He figured that would be a question he'd have to ask her later, as the two trainers continued to walk through the Oreburgh Gate. He had recognized on his map that the length of the cave was not very deep, so they wouldn't be in there for long.
But he was certain any amount of time was too long when Sinnoh Drop Bears were involved.

Mazarin stood on top of the volcano's mouth, looking down into Sootopolis City with a massive grin on his face. Honchkrow had been tucked safely away into his Pokeball. Like a comic book super hero, Mazarin's scarf was blowing in the wind. "Heed my words, evildoers!" he said to himself, pulling his scarf over his nose to cover his face, "Though you fight crime in black, I am the light that will come to cleanse your deeds!" He jumped down and started sliding down some of the rocks. He could see people moving in and out of the Cave of Origin, and he could immediately tell that they were Team Rocket members. Kicking off the wall, Maz did a rather impressive swan dive into the massive lake in the middle of the city, causing a very loud splash. He let loose his Sharpedo, which rocketed him up to the surface.
"Graaah!" Maz had a sharp intake of air and he started panting heavily. Whoo, that dive took a little more than he thought. He noticed that a few Team Rocket grunts were glaring at him, some hopping onto their own Water-types and surfing out into the lake to nab him. "Sharpedo, we're gonna need to outrun these goons if we're gonna make it into the cave to see what's going on and stop them!" He positioned himself on top of his shark and held on tight. "Ready..." he looked as a few Grunts came at him from all directions. "Dive!!" Mazarin called out at the last second, taking a deep breathe and sticking his middle finger up into the air. That last the Grunts saw of him was the rude gesture dipping into the water right before they all crashed into one another.
The boy popped out of the water a few feet away and shook his head a little. "Boy! Team Rocket must be hiring some real dimwits if they had fallen for that! Let's go Sharpedo!" With a mighty "Shar!!" the shark shot off towards land, with his trainer now standing on his back.

They both kick started their bikes and the battle was off! Robin had never battled on a bike and it was pretty exciting! Laughing she watched in as Raz circled around her, he was much faster then she was and even without his speed boosts his large body was almost as big as the bike she was on anyway! "Raz let's hit them with your Sonic Boom!" Robin cheered watching her powerful pokemon easily catch up with her. The Yanmega let out a chirping buzz and backing up he seemed to beat his wings even harder before taking off towards the Ponyta a soundwave following him.
"Well your guy sure is fast! We can deal with that though! Ponyta when it get's close use your Ember!" The Ponyta whinnied and prancing in anticipation as it ran alongside it's trainer. When Raz got closer it's mane seemed to grow and lash out at the Yanmega while it did it's best to avoid the sound blast. Both pokemon did manage to get hit but since movement was their specialty for both of them they each managed to avoid most of the damage.
"Heh, your Ponyta is pretty fast!" Robin complimented as she eyed the pokemon with appreciation.
"Your Yanmega is faster then any I have seen!" The biker complimented as she watched Raz glow blue as his speed was increased.
"Raz use Faint Attack!"
"Ponyta use Flame Wheel!"

Roark watched the actions between the trainer and the bladed pokemon with a critical eye that only a gym leader could have. "Hm, well you are right, a rock pokemon's food would do, just like any pokemon's food would do actually. It is really only a matter of the correct nutrition for your pokemon. What you feed it and what kind of exercise you do is a big factor in a few things. While you could continue to give it whatever you want it would not do any harm to your pokemon but it wouldn't let it grow to it's full potential." Roark paused and watched the two before continuing making sure that they were listening. "If you gave out the right food for this little guy it's blades would become more sturdy and it would probably get a lot bigger in size. Not that I think that the blades would brake in the first place but you never know."
Reaching into his pokemon Roark pulled out a heavy duty looking phone that was covered in dust and various other things that must have come from spending a lot of times in the mines. "I don't really know to much about steel types but my dad specializes in them. If you want I can give him a call and ask him what he thinks you should do?"

Kressen simply smiled at the girls talking about how adorable Pikachu was. He personally didn't care for the little mouse pokemon all that much, but that was just his opinion. He laughed as Roll showed off a bit of jealousy. "Looks like you're gonna have a little rivalry between those two Alex. I wish you luck with that." He was glad Odin and Gigas seemed to have had a good first meeting. He didn't wanna have to split up a fight between a fire breathing lizard and a pokemon made of blades!
Hayley's Snivy was also proving to be an interesting pokemon. "They are all learning quikly That's good, but it's a shame I can't let Odin or Gigas ride on my shoulder." He'd be sent to the hospital for puncture wounds and burns all the time.
He was dazzled by Hayley's smile and couldn't help, but blush as the watcher smiled happily Dang it why am I blushing. Get it together and try to seem cool. Before he could agree with her the giggling girl was running off towards the forest. "Hey, no fair getting a head start like that! Come on Alex before she leaves us behind!"
He raced off after her recalling Gigas into his pokeball. He hoped to find a pokemon he liked in the forest, but figured it was up to fate to decide if he found one or not.

This wasn't the first time Kasiya had traded Pokemon with another trainer, and she smiled to herself as she recalled the time she'd traded her Skitty for Ryka's Umbreon, Twilight. It seemed that the little kitten fit in well with her friend, as she'd evolved into a rather elegant Delcatty during the contest the night before. Don't let that guy push you around, Bubbles, she thought, watching the Great Ball disappear into the machine, only to be replaced with a red and white Pokeball a moment or so later. She picked it up, turned it over in her hands a few times, and smiled at it. Don't worry, Ariados, we'll figure something out. She turned to look back at Crenu as he seemed temporarily lost in thought before he muttered some sort of thanks as he put the Great Ball on his belt. "You're welcome," the blonde called after him as he started to make his way outside and she smiled over at the Riza and the others before something crucial crossed her mind. "Oh, just a minute," she told them, dashing out the doors after the surly boy.
Naturally she saw him leaning against the side of the building, smoking away at a cigarette and she sighed, deciding that it was his health and that she had no business telling him what to do. "By the way," she called loudly, keeping her distance but making sure she had his attention. "His name is Bubbles. Thought you ought to know." She grinned impishly, and then gave a small wave. "Good luck," she added before turning and heading back into the center, rather pleased with herself.
=-=-=-=-= Jake laughed sheepishly and scratched the back of his head. Okay, so it hadn't been that impressive, but he was certain that since the manner in which he had obtained Sigilyph was rather special, he was sure the Avianoid Pokemon would grow to be very special, as well. He turned to look back at the Psychic/Flying-type, which was hovering just in front of the two trainers, eyes staring blankly forward. Jake also heard the voices coming from nearby and he turned to meet the raven-haired girl's gaze. "Challenge them?" he repeated, looking to Sigilyph again, but quickly realized that she hadn't meant with their new, young Pokemon. "Sure thing," he agreed, beckoning for Sigilyph to stay close. He narrowed his eyes at the trees, able to see that the pair of trainers were probably around their age.
The pair wouldn't have to move as a few twists and turns in the winding path later, the approaching trainers easily spotted them, and they exchanged amused glances as they studied Jake and Jade before the female trainer pointed at Sigilyph. "That has got to be the ugliest Pokemon I have ever seen," the girl said, shaking her head and causing her ruby-red curls to bounce about her shoulders. Her eyes were an eerie shade of amber and she wore a rather pricey-looking outfit meant for hiking. Most noticeable were the Pokeballs clipped to her belt, and after studying Sigilyph she turned her gaze on the two humans, apparently unimpressed. "What do you two want?" she asked, scoffing haughtily.
Jake had immediately felt a surge of anger when the girl insulted his Pokemon and he took a step forward, blue eyes narrowed in a rather rare expression of aggravation. He took a deep breath and calmed himself before he gestured to the spheres on her belt. "A battle," he said simply, as he wasn't sure he could say too much without being terribly rude (even if this haughty t**t deserved it). "A double battle, in fact. Us, versus you two, two Pokemon each." He nodded over to Sigilyph who drifted closer, and Jake recalled him before slipping the Pokeball into his pocket. "That is, unless you're scared."
The girl's amber eyes flashed with anger and she growled, hands clenched into tight fists. "Of course we're not scared," she retorted, and she hardly hesitated before snatching up one of her Pokeballs. "Let's make this quick," she said to her partner, looking just as smug as the catlike Pokemon she'd sent out; a Pokemon that Jake's PokeDex identified as Glameow.
"We've got this," he said, flashing Jade a confident smile as he released his own first Pokemon, Magnemite. The Magnet Pokemon droned quietly, its single eye fixed on something off in the distance.
=-=-=-=-= Karrigan watched the two blonde trainers with rapt attention, mostly impressed by the fact that neither Kasiya nor Crenu seemed to give trading away their Pokemon so much as a second thought. Her gaze was fixed solidly on the Great Ball that Kasiya had placed in the machine, only now it had swapped places with Crenu's Pokeball and the two trainers exchanged only a few words before they claimed their new Pokemon. Karrigan's brow furrowed and she studied the machine for a moment before looking over her shoulder. Crenu seemed to have enough socialization and he was on his way out of the Pokemon Center.
She raised her hand to get Kasiya's attention, but the blonde girl had already started to follow after Crenu, and she sighed, looking at the ground. She had really wanted to ask Kasiya about Pokemon trades, as she definitely seemed like the safer person to talk to about it when compared to Crenu. Deciding to be assertive for once, she took a deep breath and started after her, deciding that she wasn't going to let her anxiety over being around new people get the best of her for once. She'd just reached the sliding doors to the center when they suddenly opened, and before she could react, she'd walked right into someone, sending them both to the ground with a painful crash. Karrigan opened her eyes ever so slightly, letting out a quiet moan when she realized she'd crashed into the very person she wanted to talk to; Kasiya.

It's not like anything in my life has ever been fair. Keegan's words sent a chill down Kasiya's spine and she shivered, allowing herself to slump back against the door. The little candle Pokemon in her arms was looking rather dozy, and she blinked, finding herself to be rather surprised that neither of them had done any yelling or shouting. She slowly glanced up to meet the redhead's eyes, closing her own as he brushed some of the hair from her face, his touch sending more shivers through her skin. More tears were threatening to fall and she let them, feeling a mixture of sorrow and guilt as Keegan spoke. That was it, he was giving her an out. Cutting her loose, letting her go. It was quite the turn around considering he'd been begging her to choose him before, but she also knew he was smarter than he often pretended to be. Even still, she could hardly believe the words he'd just spoken.
"That's not fair to you either," she protested quietly. "I don't want you to waste your time waiting for me when you could be out there finding someone. You seemed to get along with that Riza girl pretty well, and she's very pretty," she said, thinking back to when she'd seen them together at the Breeder's Gala. She'd been terribly jealous that he'd taken the raven-haired girl to the gala and not her, but considering their previous fallout, she shouldn't have been surprised. I'd rather take Mai, he'd said, and she frowned, looking at the ground once again. This conversation was very awkward, and she wanted it to be finished. "I know you don't believe it but, you deserve to be happy."
=-=-=-=-= After the laughing fit had died down, Flannery found herself feeling more exhausted than ever, but she managed a lopsided smile, giving her head a shake. "Yeah, you could have just waited, or you know, spoke up sooner or something. The simplest solutions are almost always the correct ones, you know," she said, even though she was certain that was a thought that had never, ever crossed his mother's mind, or lips as sound advice for her son. She blinked and her eyes watered from the flick to her nose, and she managed a hoarse, tired-sounding giggle. "Yeah, maybe, we'll see," she said, though it was rather hard to imagine any aspects of her future without Mike in them. She looked up at him again, his somber expression somewhat bothersome. She opened her mouth to respond, but nothing came to mind, so she just closed her eyes and nodded slowly.
So this was it, wasn't it? There was no way they'd ever be able to be together and have things be like they were. Flannery felt like her heart had turned to ice and had been shattered into a thousand shards, with each one piercing every inch of her insides. And then when he brought her up, it was Flannery's turn to wear a dark expression, but she managed to shake it off rather quickly. By now, she knew she could not fault the younger girl for any of this, even though she desperately wanted to. "Yeah, well," Flannery sighed, and shrugged, now looking towards the closed door, fully expecting to see a head of blonde hair and huge, pleading blue eyes staring in at them, desperate to reenter the room, but she wasn't there. Thank goodness.
Flannery's ruby eyes slowly looked up to meet Mike's green ones, all traces of humor and silliness gone from her expression. "I guess I'm just gonna come right out and ask, then," she said, very much dreading the response. "Do... do you love her?" she asked, the words like a biting acid on her tongue. Her stomach did a flip and twisted itself into a tight knot. "Answer honestly. I won't be angry, I promise."

Mike was taken aback as Flannery bull-rushed through the fluff questions and went for the bombshell. Did he love Kasiya DeLuca: his closest friend and greatest ally? She had been with him from the start of his journey. Together they had been through so much. When he was at his worst and everyone else had abandoned him, she stood alone, defiant in front of everyone. She was by his side for it all. Mike thought about her cheering him on with his first Pokemon capture as he hooked a curious Shellder in the Vermillion City Bay. He thought about their frequent phone calls, and how excited he always was to see her. He thought about her near-crushing embrace after a tense double battle, her sweet voice as she comforted him as he was losing his mind, her soft lips against his atop the Cinnibar volcano. He remembered his feeling of dread and fury when he found out she was captured by Team Rocket, and how he would put himself in danger a hundred times over if it meant she was safe. He sighed, looking back at Flannery. "It's not angering you I'm worried about."
No more lies, no more hiding. "I do." he said simply. "I really do." he smiled at the thought, but only for a moment. "But it doesn't matter what I feel. She loves Keegan and I can't interfere with that. I just got him back as a friend after all this time. I don't want to lose him again by stealing his girlfriend away. Hah. That would be so smart of me. Then again," Mike laughed. "It wouldn't be much of a switch." He shifted his body and hugged his legs, resting his chin on his knees. "I'm better off alone. All I do is create problems. And any problems I do fix are only because I made them in the first place. So yes. I love Kasiya and I love you, but I can't have either of you." He chuckled. "Funny how that works out, isn't it?" The floor beneath him began to darken, as glowing white eyes opened in pairs, illuminating the darkness like stars in the sky.
"Well, not alone. Never alone anymore."

In his basket the young Larvesta watched the battle with wide blue eyes. He had never seen anything like this before! Then again he had just hatched an hour ago, but it was still amazing! The young bug type watched as the Yanmega seemed almost to disappear in a black cloud while the Ponyta seemed to start to glow in flame. All of a sudden the large dragonfly appeared and slammed into the fire pokemon. The Ponyta stumbled a bit, anything that had a pokemon that large slam into it would have! It didn't lose it's place though and recovering it twirled it's head around and unleashed a large wheel of fire at the Yanmega. Zuko watched as the bug pokemon let out a pained cry and darted away trying to escape the painful flames. Zuko himself though was a bit puzzled by that. The flames didn't look like they hurt to much. In fact he somehow felt, almost like they were his friend, how weird.
"Oh Raz don't be to hurt!" Robin cried out as she gave her Yanmega a worried look. Even she knew that bug pokemon didn't like fire, and most of them and grass types were afraid of the flames. Raz though had always been a trooper and the bug shook his head and fought through the instinctive fear. Glowing blue once more as his special ability kicked in the Yanmega flew closer to Robin's bike and hovered protectively near it. "Your great Raz." Robin cheered him on. It was then a thought came to her mind. "Raz, try to get closer to the Ponyta to lure it into an attack!" The Yanmega gave her a questioning look. "No! Then use Detect when it does attack! It will be the perfect opertunity to set us up at a good angle for a strong counter after that!" Robin was feeling pretty proud of her plan as she watched Raz nod and fly away. This was her first time she was trying to be sneaky in a battle. She hoped it worked out!
~~~~~~~~~~
Frowning Dante decided he couldn't really deal with their yelling right now. "Look, it really is none of your business who I am seeing," he wasn't seeing anyone. "with the way you are both acting though it really doesn't make me want to date you anyway even if I was single." Which he was. Gathering his unhatched and Dante was starting to think he had been cheated with this egg, he headed off towards the pokemon center. At least there he could just get looks while his pokemon tried to kill him, plus Kenny needed to get healed again.
With a huff he walked through the sliding glass doors and fished out Kenny's pokeball with his injured hand. Ignoring the stabbing feeling though through it whenever he moved it, he placed the pokeball on the counter. "Can you fix up Kenny again for me?"
Nurse Joy gave him a surprised look, "Oh my, you were just in here twenty minutes ago. What happened?"
"Remember that egg I got?"
"The one you are holding right now?"
"No the other one."
"Oh, yes."
"Well it hatched and the little monster that came out of it bit me and blasted Kenny with a Dragon Rage." Dante explained, he was starting to feel a little bit better explaining it to the nurse.
"It attacked you right after it had hatched?" The nurse frowned at that. Normally pokemon that were hatched bonded with their trainers right away. It was very unusual to have it attack you just after it had hatched. There were really only a few types that would do that. Either they were just from a pokemon type that was known for it's violence, a fire type that just didn't know how to control it's flame, or a dragon type pokemon. "What kind of pokemon was it?"
"A Deino." Dante muttered as he leaned forward resting against the counter, not really caring the pose kind of made him look stupid. "The pokedex just said they like to bite everything, and are pretty mean."
"A Deino? Oh my, I read about those. Everything I have read say they are just mean spirited and don't really get any better." The nurse paused and gave him a sympathetic look. "If you plan on keeping it you should probably invest in a muzzle. I have heard the trainers who manage to get it to evolve all the way are considered some of the best around. They are supposed to be really strong." A dark dragon type pokemon? Yes any pokemon like that would have a serious attitude problem.
If he planned to keep it? The thought of giving it away had never really occurred to Dante before. Yeah this pokemon seemed like it was going to be a pain in the butt, but the thought of giving it up? Well he just didn't think he could do that for some reason. Maybe it was his pride that wasn't allowing him to think that. After all what trainer wouldn't at least try to make it work. "A muzzle huh." He muttered as he took back Kenny's healed pokeball. "I will think on that. Thanks for the talk Nurse Joy." Dante waved as he headed off to the cafeteria. Maybe he could finish his breakfast and try to feed the little demon.
Robin peadled hard as she watched with interested blue eyes as her Yanmega flew over towards the Ponyta. This battle was turning out to be more fun then she thought it would be, it was so energizing to be riding alongside her pokemon as they battled, she could really see why this was so popular. Grinning she watched as the other side was goaded into an attack, she never used Detect on Raz very much but seeing him spectacularly dodge that powerful looking Flame Wheel this time was starting to convince her that maybe she should start using it more. "Use Ancient Power now!" Robin called as she watched Raz move so that he was behind the Ponyta now. The strong Yanmega glowed as rocks seemed to come from off the side of the bike path, the glowing rocks floated up and then shot towards the fire horse.
"Oh Ponyta try to dodge!" The biker called from her side. It was to late though as it seemed like Robin using her brain for once caused them to actually pull off a strategy that wasn't just hit them harder. The Ponyta gave out a hurt cry as it stumbled some more clearly hurt quite a bit after that attack. Still it kept going though, Robin couldn't help but be impressed with that. "Ponyta hang in there and use Tackle!"
Robin frowned a she watched the fire horse suddenly stop and Raz crashed right into the fire horse. It was an odd way to perform a Tackle but it clearly worked as Raz looked pretty dazed from the attack. Maybe she should work on some odd ways to do attacks like that? Think outside the box? "Raz use Psychic!"
Dante placed his stuff on one of the chairs and headed over to the counter to grab a pokemon feeding bowl for his new little challenge. Filling it with pokemon food, and grabbing a granola bar of whatever this brand was, he headed back to the table he had staked out as his own. Reaching into his messenger bag for the Deino's pokeball he was about to release it before he paused for a moment. Maybe it wouldn't be best to release her just yet. He should probably get some backup for dealing with the monster. Who was he going to pick though?
If the Deino wasn't a dark type Dante would have picked Xannon without a thought otherwise. A psychic type would have been able to hold the tide of fury the Irate pokemon seemed to hold. Still it was a dark type and Dante didn't really want to hurt the psychic doll by sending it out against Deino. Hera would have been a good choice to, only she wasn't with him right now. He might have to make a switch sometime soon. Hm, that left Apollo, who while strong enough didn't have any hands, plus the dragon might spook him. Turn A, who also didn't have any hands, though he wasn't weak against the baby, or Kenny.
Sighing Dante hoped that Kenny didn't hate him now that he was almost regulated to helping him baby sit the little devil. That thought in mind he put the food, down, and a little ways away from him, before he released them both.
Riza watched the end of the trade, her expression still mildly annoyed but she said nothing else about it. After all, Crenu would have to be the one to deal with the Muk and not her. 'I guess Ariados really let him down in there,' she thought, glancing in the direction she thought the gym stood, and she sighed. Would she ever become so displeased with the performance of one of her Pokemon that she'd trade it away like that? Having been lost in her own thoughts for a bit, she hadn't noticed that Amy's Sandile had wandered off and was currently in the process of annoying other trainers, though she did notice when Shiro left the pokecenter and Kasiya followed after him a moment later.
'What is up with everyone?' she thought, glancing back to see a very embarrassed Amy now choosing to put her Sandile into a poke ball. She couldn't help but smirk as it didn't seem to take much to make the brunette blush or get embarrassed. Speaking of which, the rather quiet redheaded girl seemed to make her mind up about something and she stared out the door after Kasiya, only she didn't get very far as she'd almost instantly walked into someone, who turned out to be Kasiya. "No wonder her hand is in such bad shape," Riza said to Amy, shaking her head. "She's a bit of a klutz, isn't she?" she added, though it wasn't clear if she was talking about Karrigan or Kasiya with her second statement. * * * * * Okay, so Katie hadn't been expecting Kilik to believe her about the Drop Bears, but if he wasn't overly familiar with Sinnoh then perhaps it wasn't that surprising. She held back a laugh as he caught up to her and exchanged glances with her Monferno, who just shook his head even though he was just as amused as she was. The still unnamed Solosis drifted nearby, remaining rather quiet until the dark haired boy had come near. The psychic-type gave a growl but before she could try and attack Kilik, Katie had grabbed her. "Lay off," she grumbled, giving the Solosis a glare. "I don't know what's up with this one," she muttered, glancing up at Kilik, who seemed to be quite preoccupied with looking up at the ceiling. He seemed so very vigilant that Katie felt a little guilty for misleading him. For now, however, her Solosis was content to be carried and it started to doze off, or at least Katie assumed it had as it had stopped trying to attack Kilik and Flareon.
'I'll have to get her a poke ball of her own, but that means I'll have too many Pokemon. I wonder if Kilik felt the same way when he first got seven Pokemon...' she thought, looking up at the taller boy. "Oh, Kilik, relax," she said as they neared the end of the cavern. "I was only joking, there's no such thing as Sinnoh Drop Bears. Please....don't hate me, I was only trying to have a bit of fun with you." Meanwhile, Genki had been amusing himself by hopping over various boulders that blocked his path, and he thought nothing of it until one of those rocks reached out a hand and grabbed his ankle, causing him to fall face first to the ground. With a growl the Monferno was back on his feet in seconds, and before the pesky Geodude knew what was happening it was met with a swift Mach Punch to the face and it was sent rolling back, temporarily no longer a threat to passing trainers. "Serves him right," Katie chuckled, amused and impressed with her Monferno's reflexes.
The trade hadn't turned out quite as dramatic as she might have thought, but it was something to see nonetheless. Somehow, she hadn't imagined that trading Pokemon would be so... simple. She thought there might be forms to fill out or something of that sort. Amy watched Crenu leave, followed by Kasiya, in silence, cheeks still burning after Sandile's little incident. She was ending up looking like an inexperienced dolt in front of everyone, first asking Crenu obvious questions and then not being able to control her own Pokemon. Not to mention that her first impression on Riza was losing out the first round in a contest she shouldn't be taking part in in the first place and then running away for fear of facing someone. She glanced over at the dark-haired girl, who seemed to be smiling to herself, until she noticed Karrigan passing by. The redhead was walking with purpose, right into Kasiya, sending the both of them tumbling over outside. Amy winced sympathetically as Riza spoke up, remarking on the other girl's klutziness.
"Oh no," she said, turning back to Riza. "Well, I mean--maybe. She just has really bad luck, I think." She had taken the latter statement being referred to Karrigan and felt the need to defend her new friend, even though she was sure that someone like Riza couldn't mean to disparage the redhead without hardly knowing her. The other girl seemed too good for that, Amy decided. "I wonder what she wanted," she commented, not wanting to go over and risk interrupting the conversation the two girls might be having. After all, Karrigan had seemed to want something from the blonde before she ran right into her. "Would you ever do it? Trade one of your Pokemon, I mean," Amy asked conversationally, still wondering if she would be able to. She felt like she hadn't been with any of her Pokemon long enough to know how well they meshed with her, but that wasn't necessarily the case for Crenu. Maybe he and Ariados just weren't meant to be.
"Yeah, you're a real expert on ugly, aren't you?" Jade laughed without much self-restraint, sneering at the ginger girl they had happened upon. Even though the comment wasn't directed towards her or one of her Pokemon, she still prickled at an insult towards the baby Pokemon of Jake's, like it was extended to him. She just wanted a decent match to help them coordinate for the gym battle ahead, but the girl's comment sparked something and now she wanted to beat the two of them for the pure sake of it. She felt the same way she had when she encountered the man that tried to stop her, all the way back in Jubilife, but now, she could do something. And she certainly would.
Meanwhile, the girl's male companion had been silent for the most part, a smug smirk ever-present on his face. As Jake egged the two of them on, he swept a hand through his curly brown hair and sighed, nodding in agreement with his partner. "Yes, I hate it in here," he said lightly, retrieving a Pokeball of his own and releasing a Pokemon Jade knew as Misdreavus. The raven-haired girl felt like she ought to test out her Electric-type as well, and promptly released Cirrus, who narrowed his eyes at the opposing feline.
"Wasn't much doubt," Jade replied easily, returning the smile. Then she focused her attentions back on that indolent little redhead and her Glameow, flashing her own a Pokemon a look that told him he ought to follow her orders explicitly. "Cirrus, use Spark!" Luckily enough for her, the Shinx was eager to oblige and began to glow yellow as he charged electricity and began to bound towards the Normal-type with purpose. Meanwhile, the curly-headed boy ordered for his Misdreavus to use Psywave and it responded instantly, blasting a strangely-colored wave towards Jake's Magnemite.
Crenu closed his eyes as he continued to smoke his cigarette, letting out a deep relaxed sigh. Leaning against the building he started to sink into his thoughts, when suddenly Kasi's voice broke his concentration. He didn't move or give her a sign of paying attention, but he was listening. But as soon as she said the name 'Bubbles', his eyes shot open and his head turned quickly to look at her. Did she just say the Muk's name was Bubbles? Now that he thought back on it he remembered that she called him that before. It was hard to describe the look on his face, but it showed pure surprise and disbelief, an expression never before seen in the shallow box of his expressions. He looked from her to the greatball on his belt, then back to Kasi. But the blond girl had already disappeared inside the center, and Crenu was left with a Muk named Bubbles.
"...Bubbles?" Why? Crenu hadn't thought about it, the whole time he knew it was called Bubbles in the back of his mind, how could he forget? It was one of the dumbest names out there for sure, how could he take it or himself seriously calling out a pokemon called Bubbles? One of the other things that idled him now was that the pokemon had a nickname to begin with. He never bothered to name his pokemon, he didn't see the point. But the sense of uniformity was gone now, with a nicknamed pokemon on his team, it would just be wierd to have all his other pokemon have no special names. The part of his brain that demanded order and systematic matching.g was thrown into chaos. Because of this, he was gonna have to name all his other pokemon. Maybe. What seemed like a great trade suddenly made him think twice about it, but it was done with. Crenu shook his head and sighed, he wasn't gonna let something to petty and stupid get him worked up. He continued to smoke his cigarette, turning his attention where it was needed right now and released Elgyem from her ball. The odd pokemon seemed delighted to see Crenu again, fingers flashing wildly. "...well then. We've got a lot to learn it seems."
Jasper patiently waited for the washing cycle to be finished before he threw the wad of wet garments into the dryer, and he waited a few moments more before he headed off to the showers, stifling a large yawn as he padded across the hallway. He picked an empty shower stall, which wasn't difficult to do seeing as they were all empty, and after making sure he had a clean, dry towel he slipped out of his robe and started the water. It had actually been an almost disturbingly long time since his last shower and he instantly felt better as the hot water began to rinse away days worth of grime and sweat. 'This being a trainer thing does have its perks,' he thought, sighing contentedly before he poured some shampoo into his palm.
He'd finished washing and was in the process of rinsing the soap from his body, quietly mulling over the events of yesterday. He also wondered about that Koffing and what would become of her, and he felt a small pang of guilt over not automatically stepping up to adopt her. 'I don't really want the trouble of looking after Koffing,' he thought, shaking his head. 'I got her out of that cave when I could have just left her there to fend for herself...' He sighed and pushed the sopping hair from his face. 'Maybe I'll check in on her later, just to make sure she's doing okay.' Jasper nodded to himself as though to affirm his decision and he closed his eyes, not quite wanting to leave the warmth of the water just yet.
He'd then started thinking about the upcoming gym matches he was to watch later in the morning, and it got him thinking about his own future gym battles when he heard a curious humming noise. At first he thought nothing of it, believing it to be nothing more than water in his ears and he gave his head a shake, but when the noise shifted from a quiet hum to a piercing ringing, he grabbed the sides of his head, he began to suspect that something more serious was at play. "What is this...?" he groaned, struggling to turn off the water, though he seriously considered turning it back on as now a bright, blinding white light had filled the tiny shower stall and he practically slammed his eyes shut, staggering back against the wall. He had no idea what was happening to him, and he didn't like it, not one little bit.
Jasper had somehow managed to stumble out of the shower and haphazardly wrap his towel around his waist as he tried to get away from the light, and for a moment he thought he'd make it. The light seemed to have a mind of its own, however, and it followed right after him, which only proved to freak the boy out further. "Get away from me," he gasped, waving at the ball of light with one hand while hoisting his towel up with the other. He'd left all his Pokemon and other things back in his room and he suddenly was regretting leaving them behind. Before he knew it, the light had backed him up against the wall and he had nowhere to go. "Leave me alone!" he shouted, shielding his eyes from the resulting flash.
The painful ringing sound in his ears had finally subsided and Jasper opened his eyes in time to see something appear about two feet in front of him. He blinked a few times, realizing quickly that he wasn't imagining it, and he reached out with a hand to touch it. "This is the biggest egg I've ever seen," he mumbled, still not quite sure what to make of all this. "What an unorthodox way to deliver breakfast." Whatever magical force was holding the egg was starting to fade and Jasper had to reach out with his other hand to catch it.
"Ooh, heavy. And warm. How strange." He brought it a bit closer to his face to examine it, now noticing that he could feel it moving. Whatever was inside of the egg seemed to want out, and pretty badly, too, as bits of shell had started to flake off. "Aw, man," he sighed. "It's hatching! So much for breakfast..."
