Raven stopped for a moment, looking at the various pieces of equipment, as well as the stones. Such things could be rather useful; and theoretically he could find a Metal Coat in here. Though it was in a mostly liquid state, it was still metal, something found in the ground. Besides, Pokemon could easily have dropped one while tunnelling...

If nothing else, he might come across something valuable to sell or trade later. He wasn't the greedy sort, but as a trainer he would require funding now and then. More so then he had in his travels prior to the Academy. Nope, the Dumpster would no longer qualify as a sufficient form of nutrients.

"Very well, let us see what luck has in store..." The boy stated, picking up one of the old pickaxes. This one seemed mostly undamaged at least.

"Ah, I see its caught your eye." Ada smiled as she put her hat on the ground, putting the box on top of it. She had no table with her, so she would have to improvise. "Well, you see, this here isn't any ordinary box. You see, I got it at a rather odd little booth at a fair, and I knew that it had something special. Because, indeed, it was imported form a land far off, and when I got home I found out..." she moved her hand over to the top, her finges slipping in to the side as she opened it, the lid going all the way back as another wall came up, higher than the rest of the box. The wall, newly erected, was bright blue, a nice contrast to the dull gray it had before.

"Its an origami box! Yes, just like when you fold or unfold papers, this box folds and unfolds aswell." She kept unfolding it, the box becoming larger with each new wall that came out. "And this, this tiny six inch box, unfolds into a box nearly four times as large!" she exclaimed right as she finished up on the last wall. Indeed, it was a large, bright blue box now, and it rested atop her hat. Thankfully that thing was strong, any other hat would have probably started sinking by now. She began to turn the hat around, so the Foongus could see all the sides. "Now the reason this box is magical is because it holds just as much when its this big as when its tiny, like it was before!" She stopped turning it once she was assured the Foongus was given a good view of it, "And I'll show you what I mean with my lovely assistant here, Impromptu!"

The Growlithe paused his scratching as he looked over. Man, that was his cue, that was his cue! He held down the urge to scratch, trying to calm himself so he would screw this all up as he ran over to Ada's side. His face was oblivious as he smiled, his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth. Ada held her hand out, and Impromptu put his paw in it, letting her guide him over to the box. "Now, he's actually going to get in this little cube now, with his black bow-tie on and all, so that I can show you the wonders of this magical origami box" She could have stopped talking, yes, but one always needed to have their audiences attention.

Impromptu took a deep breath as he stood on his hind legs in the box, looking at the foongus. He gave a wink before disappearing in, laying down on the floor of it and out of sight. "Now, as you can see here, this guy barely fits inside of the box, and its opened up as large as it can right now!" indeed, some of his fur still showed! "But now, here's where the magic kicks in! Even now, as he barely fits comfortably in this large box, we're going to make him fit inside the small one!"

Slowly, and with care, she began to fold the box back into itself, the bright blue walls going back in as they only left gray walls behind. "A little box, proved otherwise..." she slowly closed the lid, leaving behind the six inch small box that she had started with, "The world at large, made small in size!" she took her hands away from the top, holding them up at the sides. How she managed to fit that whole dog in there, that was a mystery.

But she wasn't quite done yet. If one could see closely, there were tinny, round holes going through the sides. Ada took out her wand from her pocket, blowing at the top. "Oh yes, we're gonna add a little twist!" The tip of the wand turned sharp within the blink of an eye, "Right through the middle, we're putting it!" With a quick motion the struck it through the middle of the box, watching as it went through the other side. Slowly, she began to take it out, going over to the other side and thrusting it through again!

"There we go, wands all through the sides~!" she chimed. Yes, it seemed like she liked to take her magic to the more dangerous levels. She leaned over to the Foongus, putting her hand on the side of her face as she whispered to him, "Don't worry, the mutt says its cool"

Ada giggled as she looked down at the tiny six inch box. "Ha, now I don't have to worry about carring his lazy butt around, should I keep him like this?" The shook her head, "naah, I need him for other stuff" She then put her hands on the box again, looking at the Foongus. "Now, of course, what could be folded up, could also be unfolded." She began to put the top back again, unfolding it and showing those bright blue walls. "Lets see if thats true, by unfolding this little box here."

"This here, is actually my favorite part, and like before theres some magic words..." she began to unfold the sides, "And as they gazed, the wonder grew, the more they saw, the less they knew" she started to unfold the other side, "Each fold and crease had not explained..." finally, she unfolded the last wall, waving her hands over the top. "...All wonders of the world, contained!"

As she said that, Impromptu hopped out, now wearing a bright gold bowtie and a mask like the face of a Porygon. Why Porygon? why not porygon. Underneath it, he was smiling, and his eyes showed his cheeryness as he looked down at the Foongus. "> So, whaddya think? <" The pup asked, ignoring the sensation of "have to scratch have to scratch have to scratch" that came over him.

Then the Heatmors tounge would flash out once more, now racing towards the Arons pressure points. He was counter attacking! Tsuki nodded, the attack wasn't that strong anyways so countering seemed logical. But Blaze was pretty arrogent. The attack he sent could be weaker. Not that they could change course now anyways.

(4 - 2 + 15 - 12 = 5x2 =10dmg)

The attack would collide against him strongly as the Aron hit and then tumbles backwards in a rolling ball. He liked this game very much ...of rolling and tumbling and rumbling again ...as he came to a stop. He stopped to look back a the hot one and snuggle down into his own defensives.

Eyes narrowed to a point as he simply looked on and watched with eyes that seemed to be hauntingly powerful. He couldn't wait for his next attack, but now was the time to snuggle down deep. His metal coat shining on his back.

The little Foongus would move back upon his own ummm.....sort of feet as he clapped his small hands as close together as he could get them. He liked that trick ...very much as he looked at the box, and then he held up his little fire stone.

Held it upwards so that everyone could see it.

A quick jump and another, and the box would find something new being placed in. The little Foongus wasn't to see the trick again, and he wanted it done with the fire stone as he looked over at the Growlithe and declares happily.

((Encore ...Encore))

This was a great trick to him.

Excavation Dig ...

With that decision the world of digging was open to him, but so were the dangers. As he would pick up the pick ...Raven couldn't help but notice that the one he choose was full of cracks. It wouldn't last for more than 5 digs at the most, but there were others in the room. Though somehow, he would get the feeling that if he choose another ....after using this one he would be met with very dangerous consequences. Though he wasn't done yet, and he still had time to try again ....as it lay in his hand. He currently held one which tip was split which meant that each time it was used ...it's accuracy would be lower than the most. (+ 5 to each roll) But it was more durable than the other two in the room, so this one would find that he could go for longer with this one.

The one to his left it was shorter at the tip and more cracked that the one in his hands, it wouldn't last longer than 3 ....but it was designed so that it's tip was much straighter. Though it was due to over usage that the tip of this one would dulled a bit, and because of that it too much more strength to wield it. This one's accuracy would be off because of that as well ....(+3 to each roll).

Then was the final one that sat by itself, it was so badly cracked that there wasn't a thought in anyone's mind that it could only be swung 2 times, but the point was as straight as the day it was made and sharp at the tip. Whatever it hit ...it would go through as surely as any pick axe could. Though it wouldn't last long ....these were Raven's three choices of which pick to use.

Raven would raise a brow as he took a closer look at the pick in his hand, and then the ones around him. It seemed mostly undamaged was a relative term in this place. Still, the boy would take a firmer grasp upon the one he already held. He didn't know a lot about excavation...alright, he knew absolutely diddly actually...but even if the accuracy was poor, with enough chances to strike, one was bound to find something eventually.

It was likely a little odd for a Strike Team member to choose relentless durability over the 'kill shot'; but not necessarily a bad thing. The first blow in combat wouldn't always be the final one, and he'd need to be prepared for that. Persistence had it's merits now and then.

Testing the balance of the Pick Axe for a moment, Raven would proceed to a suitable section of wall and swing the item much like he would a weapon. Well, wasn't like he really knew how to use the thing anyway...

(12 = nothing (1/5)

The rock would crumble underneath the point of the pick, but what should have been a straight break would actually turn into a diagonal cut. The piece of rock that feel away was quite shallow ...it was clear that he wasn't going to get anything for his troubles with that one.

Raven grunted slightly as the strike went wide. He had a feeling he;d have obtained something had he been using a more accurate Pick Axe...actually, something if he'd been using just about any other Pick Axe then this one.

Oh well, one couldn't go back on their chosen path. Mistakes could not be so easily erased from existence.

Bringing his arm back, the boy would swing the Pick Axe again.

Again nothing. Though this time at least the child was certain that he wouldn't have obtained anything even if he had a better pickaxe. The fault instead lay with his inexperience.

Taking a deep breath, the boy would grasp the shaft of the pickaxe with both hands. His own way hadn't really worked, so now he would try...a cliché of sorts.

Raising the pickaxe over his head, the boy would bring it down much like the old miners in cartoons.

(19 - 3/5)

The pick axe would hit the stone wall again. The diagonal split grew wider ...and a piece of stone would come away from the wall ...to the left of him. Yet it was nothing but rock, and it would seem that it didn't go much more than the very surface area of the place.

He was getting no where fast with these hits.

Strike three. Maybe he should have chosen a better axe...

Well at least he was learning something from this. Deadly accuracy was in fact, the better choice. High durability was failing him rather spectacularly at this particular moment, and he couldn't imagine it would be picking up any time soon.

For now though, he'd just keep swinging. This time, perhaps a bit more haphazardly, his arms practically flailing as he swung the pickaxe.

Yeah he should have used a better axe, that was for certain. There was no going back on his mistake. He had errored and he would pay the price for that...but he'd best remember it, as to never make this same mistake again.

Taking several steps back, Raven would then proceed to literally throw the pickaxe at the wall.

Hey, nothing else had really worked. What was the harm in giving this a try?

The axe would break apart in his hand ....as the top of it fell into pieces on the ground. He was done with this excavation unless he was willing to risk the dangerous of this place to use one of the other two axes that still lay on the ground around him.

Or he could simply continue on and forget that he had every attempted this.

Raven would watch the Pickaxe shatter against the wall, and produce a simple straightforward shrug. Well that plan had failed, back to the original goal then.

Not too surprisingly, the child wasn't particularly broken up over the failure of the plan. Getting over worked up over such things seemed more of a Tactics Team thing. His team was supposed to think quickly and on their feet. If one idea didn't work, they'd simply go straight into the nearest possible alternative.

In this case it would be going back to what he was doing before. Brushing off any debris left on him from when he'd thrown the pickaxe at the wall, the boy would simply leave the excavation site and be on his way. Maybe he'd find another later. If not, well then he'd just find the Metal Coat another way.
