Rosalynda Peered at Synder as Professor Malevolyte said he was shy. Oh that explains it."Its ok, You can get over it once you make enough friends." She was speaking from experaince. Rosalynda raised an eyebrow as the professor stated to talk about food..again."You mush really like food.
Rosey looked at her watch and sighed. Yet again she let time slip past her and she was late for class. She looked at the professor."Yeah, but that would cost you your job." She pointed out."But any way I'm late for my class and I still have the million books you gave me." She turned towards Ruby."I think its best we go now, We dont need to get in any more trouble." Rosey turned on her heels and grabbed her books with a huff. With that Rosalynda motioned her head toward Ruby to get going.

Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye... As soon as she arrived at the library, Angela claimed at table, by setting her things down, and went to one of the computers to look up the best reference books on ancient Egypt. Within ten minutes, she had no less than fifteen books back at her table, scattered out as she began to pour through them for some reference to Tarik's name. At the very least, if she could find a mention of him, she could find out what Pharaoh he'd served under and what had become of the man.
Hopefully he'd lived a long life and had a successful reign and all that. But, of course, she didn't really know if Tarik was famous enough to make even a foot note in the history books so she was just hoping to find something. Even just a brief mention of him would be enough.
Though she had to admit it was a little weird looking up someone she actually knew in person. Then again, no weirder than having a mummy want to marry her after having tried to kill her.
She flipped another page, chewing her bottom lip as she ran her finger down the text, scanning for any helpful references. Maybe when he arrived, he'd actually tell her what his position was and all that. For all she knew, he was the Pharaoh's very, very loyal (and tall...and buff...) shoe shiner.Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress...

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________Being a security guard was boring. Tarik walked and walked and walked and there was no end to walking and he was so bored. He had to find the other security guard. Back during his warrior days, fellow warriors at least sparred with him to keep him entertained.
Eventually the bell rang, indicating the dismissal of classes. Oh. Time to visit the library. After all, Angela asked him to be there and he definitely would go there. Not really because she asked him too since he wasn't one to follow the orders of a woman, but because he was bored. Of course he should probably make an exception for Angela. Some of her orders will be followed then. Some.
He entered the library. What an odd place. What were these things on shelves?
Tarik would have examined them, but instead he went to Angela who he found looking at a table. "Angela." he said. "What is this place? It is very odd. There are tall walls that hold so much flimsy material with hard covering. What are they for?" Tarik asked. "Is it like stone tablets and hieroglyphs? Er... I never really learned how to read those."

Young Master Oz Vessalius Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye...
Oh great, an illiterate mummy. Angela foresaw herself teaching this moron how to read. That was going to be a fun endeavor considering he seemed to have the attention span of a freeze dried gnat. "They're called books," Angela said. She pulled out a chair next to her. "And yes, it's our equivalent of stone tablets and hieroglyphs--or more like papyrus and scrolls, I suppose. But you needn't worry. I know how to read. In spite of what Sani says, most people do. Including women."
She patted the chair, smiling at him as she reminded herself: Small words, short sentences and to speak slowly so the poor, brainless, undead fool could follow what she was saying. "Why don't you sit? I was hoping you could tell me a bit more about yourself. You know, these books are all about Egypt--you might be in some of them."
Well, she was hoping he would be, anyway.
((That's okay, Angela attracts dumb men. She should be used to this. Anyway, since he was apparently pretty famous and such, think he might be mentioned in a couple of books? Even as a foot note? xD))Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress...

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________"Books." Tarik repeated tasting this unusual word for the first time as he took a seat across from Angela. "I see. So the culture of this country values education above everything else?"
It was odd to be told all these things from a woman. Where was the wise man of this place? He will be the one to teach Tarik instead. To think he would look stupid in front of his beloved was just shameful! His pride was being damaged as he sat here with her.
"There are books on Egypt? My name has traveled to such a faraway land. That's amazing. What about the Pharaoh? Have you read of him yet? He is still young, but he is wise for his age." Tarik said with a fond smile on his lips.
((Sure. If the books can save me typing, then I openly welcome it. XD But as of right now, I'm thinking of either making up a Pharaoh or digging up one from 5000 years ago. owo" I'm not really sure.))_________________________________________ "My greatness is revealed only when I'm naked." - Prince Ludwig

Susan Chang Ah, a moment of relaxation before next class. Susan grabbed out her novel, found a nice comfortable seat and dug her head into the book. She was nearly done, thankfully she brought lots of books with her.

"Most cultures in the current world value education above all other things," Angela said. "I'm not actually from this country anyway. And my culture is a little different from this one. Well, my father's culture, because I--" She shook her head. No. No rambling. She studied him for a moment, watching him talk about his pharaoh so fondly. He really didn't seem to realize the situation he was in and she was about to have to break it to him.
And even if he was a dolt of truly epic proportions, she needed to do it as gently as possible. "Tarik," she said carefully. "You have to understand that you...slept for a really, really long time. Egypt has had many pharaohs. I don't know the name of the one under which you served but if you tell me...perhaps I can find him in one of these books."
She pulled another one closer, and opened it, turning toward the back so she could scan the index for his name. Oh! That was it, right? Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid. She'd only heard him say it but that seemed right...She quickly flipped back through the book to the page number and started reading. So he had been a warrior...well that explained the all brawn and no brains bit.
((Don't worry, Tarik. Angela thought you were dumb long before now, I promise. ))Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress...

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________So he zoned out a little. This was very difficult. Listening to people who he normally didn't listen to. He just kind of nodded blankly and then he snapped back to listening when he heard her say his name and there seemed to be an edge to her voice that started to tell Tarik that he didn't want to hear this.
But he listened. "Yes. I know my slumber has lasted quite some time. I'd say about ten to twenty years maybe? The Pharaoh is a wise man now. I know he won't be foolish enough to die at such a young age." Tarik answered as she flipped through a book. "The name of the Pharaoh? Why do you ask? There is no other."
((Or maybe because I'm stalling cuz I don't know. 8D I will decide by next post. XD ))_________________________________________ "My greatness is revealed only when I'm naked." - Prince Ludwig

Young Master Oz Vessalius Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye...
Angela sighed and gave him a pained look. "Do you have to be so stubborn?" she asked. "You're the one who just woke up and I'm the one who's been awake, you know, for my whole life and all. I know, I know, I'm just measly girl. But actually, I am pretty smart." She took her book and slid it across the table and she got up and moved to sit next to him. He couldn't read but, she still felt weird not at least showing him the text.
She paused and decided to quickly add, "You know, in my country, women are highly respected. And for the record, I don't need a fiance who doesn't respect me. Just so you know."
She tapped the text in the book, looking down at it. "This is about you, I think. It says you were a renowned warrior who gained favor with the pharaoh, and the people." She didn't know how to tell him that it also said he had died and that, to honor him, the people mummified his remains and laid him to rest. He seemed very strongly in denial. "Um, this is a statue of you," she added quickly, pointing to a picture. Yes, yes she was delaying telling him the bad news. "It...really doesn't quite do you justice, I must say. Not that I think you're remotely attractive! Because you're not. At all!" she added quickly, flushing when she realized she'd inadvertently complimented him. Gah! She groaned and held the book up to hide her face and the fact that she was glowing again. Dammit.

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________"I do not see how I am being stubborn. Ten to twenty years is a very long time. Many I know cannot even live to twenty years and even ten." Tarik said with a nod of his head.
She moved to go show him the book, but the symbols were so... lacking! Normally he would have some kind of idea since it was like a picture, but the symbols on the flimsy creation called book had squiggles and scrawls and it just looked very weird. There were a few pictures though and Angela seemed to note one that was a statue of him.
"You are getting all this information from this book? My name is that well-known?" Tarik asked. Where was she getting all this? And the statue of him--
"Statues." he snorted. "They never give the full glory of anyone." But he was not surprise. Of course a statue would be made of him. He banished that witch after all. He glanced at Angela who started to get flustered as she spoke the obvious of how it did him no justice. He smirked as he watched her hold the book over her face from embarrassment. Tarik reached over and pushed the book down so he could get a good look at her face. "I will pretend I didn't hear the last few sentences. I am terribly flattered." Tarik teased.

Young Master Oz Vessalius Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye... "I....um..." Gah! Her book! Angela ducked her head, frustrated that her hair wasn't quite long enough to hide her face. She finally just used a hand, desperately hiding her face. "Stop looking!" Right! The book! Distract him. With...things! "Um, right, so, yes. I, um, yes." Alright, Angela, coherent sentences would be good at this point. She took a breath. "Yes, all that information was mentioned in the book." She found her place again, pulling the book closer so she could lean over it and not look at him.
Damn him! He was not allowed to get her flustered like that.
"It says the pharaoh you served was Re-Senusnet." She managed to get control of herself so she could look up at him seriously. "Tarik...this book is about ancient Egypt. It says that you defeated an enemy of the kingdom but were, um, laid to rest. I suppose that's when you fell into slumber. And then your pharaoh ruled peacefully for the rest of his life. And his eldest son inherited after him. And this was around five thousand years ago."
She bit her lip and without thinking, reached to take his hand in some attempt to offer the comfort she had a feeling he would need (and probably reject, since she was a mere woman, after all. But she was the one who had awakened him so she couldn't help but bear the responsibility for this. If she hadn't touched the orb, he could have gone on sleeping forever, without having to learn that everything he cared for was gone. "Like I said, you slept for a really, really long time. The Egypt you knew doesn't exist anymore. I'm...sorry."Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress...

Tarik-Khaldun Sayyid "My only value is not just my face."_________________________________________It was funny. If she was going to react like that it was hard to follow her orders to 'stop looking' since it was obviously much more amusing to look. However, her plan to distract Tarik succeeded as she mentioned the information being found in the book and she even started to speak about the Pharaoh. At first he listened because he waited for the Pharaoh to be praised, but then he regretted listening afterwards.
Tarik blinked. "Laid to rest?"
"His eldest son?"
There was a moment of uncomfortable silence as Angela took his hand in such a serious manner that just made Tarik very much more aware of what she was telling him. To learn that there was no home to return to and everyone he knew was practically gone and the life that he knew no longer existed. That was just too cruel to be true. Tarik's mind couldn't wrap around it properly.
"That's impossible. If I slept for really that long I definitely cannot be standing before you right now." Tarik said in a weak attempt to defy what was being told to him as he pulled his hand away from hers.
"I won't believe you unless I read it myself." Tarik added firmly. "I will research this impossible scribbling... somehow... and prove that you are wrong."
"The matter is brought to a close. I have decided." Tarik said stubbornly. "Now then, we shall move on. We will be eating now. Where is the dining area?"
((I should have thought about this kind of emotional blargh when I made him. =w=" They are my weakness. I shall stall his tears until he learns how to read! *goes off to watch tragedy movies* ))_________________________________________ "My greatness is revealed only when I'm naked." - Prince Ludwig

Angela.Tremaine The goblin remains and the princess will die, the right road to Faerie, is the blink of an eye... "You were under a cursed sleep," Angela said. "I think that, in itself, proves just about anything is possible. Most people can't survive sleeping for ten to twenty years either, you know." She shut the book and began to gather them all, stacking them up neatly. She couldn't even get mad over his ridiculously imperious behavior. Mostly because she was fairly certain he was trying to cover up his own uncertainty. And that made her feel kind of bad for him. He didn't have anything left, or any real connections to his past anymore. "But since I was the one who awakened you, I shall take responsibility for teaching you to read English," she told him.
"We can meet during study hall, lunch, or my free period every day, here in the library. You can choose which time."
Angela smirked slightly and reached up to give Tarik a solid thump on the forehead. "And of the two of us, I have higher status. What makes you think I take orders from peasants or mortals?"
Angela began to gather up the books to carry them back to their places. "Are you going to help, or just watch me carry all these books by myself?" Where charming old stories, in blood are expressed, like tears of cream on a strawberry dress... ((Haha.
