Now, Hel was being pretty cold. Much colder than Riyo had expected from a generally lighthearted person, and by all means she was pretty sure Lattice deserved to give her a good punch in the face.
... Then Mot stepped in. Riyo's hands slowly dropped from her mouth when he called Hel disgusting, a sort of awestruck look on her face as she stared at the cowboil. By no means... Was she joyful over this part.
Riyo's ears slowly fell back against her head at the harshness of the cowboil's words, hands wrapping around her legs as she cautiously watched the rather brutal scene unfold. The irony was that there was no bloodshed, but she could practically hear the flesh tear in Hel's body.
It wasn't to say Mot was in the wrong, but Riyo knew a thing or two about how the right words from the right person could practically damn someone... And the feline was pretty sure Mot had just danced on that line. No. She didn't blame Mot. If anything, maybe he should be congratulated for finally silencing the bickering but...
She actually felt bad for Hel now.

Mot led Lattice to a less crowded area, guiding her to sit herself down. He followed suit, sitting in front of her and studying her face. It didn't matter how he felt right now. Lattice was more important right then. Sure, he wanted to curl up and lament about the issues swirling around him, and sulk. However, Lattice had been picked on for something she could not help. A low blow had been dealt. She didn't deserve it. No one deserved to feel that way.
"Hey," he said with a kind smile he knew she couldn't see, "How are you feeling right now?" He spoke in a soft voice, one he didn't wish to carry over to the rest of the room. This was meant only for the engraver.

Something broke.
Something…
Where before she had been feeling frustration, anger, irritation, anxiety, concern, after Mot spoke to her, there was absolutely nothing. Nothing except a cold feeling clenching her stomach and her heart. Hel’s usually expressive face was flat, and she slowly turned back around to face the wall, absentmindedly tucking the ball back into her apron pocket. The ghoul then folded her hands together upon her lap and just resumed staring at the wall with that flat expression.
Priorities…
Finish the rooms….hopefully get that student back….hopefully be able to go back to Halloween Town after that…
A thought flickered across her mind.
Freya was right.
Maybe she should have never left home.

Eyes trailing to the reaper beside her Mitsu just lightly shook her head. Food was the furthest thing from her mind at the moment. Right now she was exhausted. Physically and mentally. So many cruel and hateful things had been passed back and forth between everyone and Mitsu hadn't even tried to keep the peace.
"I...think I'm going to sleep for a bit." The lycan said softly. Slowly she laid down beside Shun curling up, her tail wrapping around herself as she brought Mot's hat up to cover her face and hide. Maybe a short nap would make everything better. Maybe she would wake up and realize this had been a dream. Her only regret would be that the kiss from Shun hadn't been real. That was almost enough regret to hope that it wasn't a dream when she opened her eyes again. This day was so confusing.

It didn't take much to get Lattice to sit down as she did so willingly though she kind of tilted her head away. It was easy to get her to feel guilty especially after what Mot had said and when she took a moment to reflect what she had said as well. As far as she was concerned the verbal lashing he'd given Hel was terrible. It made at least Lattice stop.
"I feel...I feel terrible," she said quietly to Mot as they sat together. "You shouldn't have said that Mot, you shouldn't have. Hel was right. I was weak and I got caught," Lattice insisted as if saying this would turn time back and make the words go away.
"I also shouldn't have gotten involved," she added after a second. If she hadn't gotten involved then Mot wouldn't have said those things to Hel.

Everywhere around, from what Shun could see, people were sullen from what had just happened. This wasn't right. They should be rallying, prepping to meet with the enemy. This was not the case at all. Frowning, the Reaper looked back at Mitsu. Despite the fact that she wasn't involved, she was still fairly distressed.
After she laid down, he watched her for a moment or so before gently pulling over so that she could partially lay on his lap. A part of him wondered if it would have been better to try and convince her to go home. This was not a good place for her to be. She didn't spend years of training and conditioning. The girl was innocent.
Placing a hand onto her head lightly, he paused once more at these thoughts, hoping they did not mean that he had gone too soft.

Mot frowned, carefully listening to Lattice say what she wanted to. She seemed to blame herself for being caught, It was as he feared. She should not feel that way.
"I lost my temper.. I will admit." Mot said softly, "However, she had no right to say that to you. Lattice, from what I have seen and heard, these enemies are a great deal stronger than us." He lowered his gaze, shifting his shoulders as he thought of their situation. He had felt useless and weak as well, so he felt like a hypocrite telling her not to feel useless and weak too.
"You were just worried about us. It made me happy that you cared enough to interject." The reaper may not have wanted the attention, but her intentions were good. "We shouldn't be fighting each other. Not now. Not here."

Lattice reached over and grasped at Mot's sleeve even as she listened to him talk she would accept that they are stronger than them right now but still...She could have fought harder but she decided not to vocalize this thought. Certainly it was too late to run back and fix things but still that didn't mean Lattice wanted to leave them as they were.
Quietly she tugged at his sleeve insistent and sad, "We should not," she agreed softly.
"Wi...Will you apologize to her?" this was said quieter, softer. She was feeling remorse for her own involvement, nothing Mot said could make that stop. It just didn't set right with her all she wanted was for them to stop and for Mot to not be sad and...
...She wanted everyone to fight together not this. Whatever this was.

Mot made a pained expression, letting out a breath. His gaze flicked to Hel for a moment before resting on the floor again. "...I.." Now that he had time to settle down, he went over his words to Hel in his head.
Hel had crossed a line, but even so.. he had been harsh. Much too harsh. While he was still disappointed in the Valkyrie, he did not hate her. He didn't wish to stay cross with her either. Lattice was kind. He flicked his gaze to the ghoul's hand clinging to his sleeve, his eyes softening.
"I will.. but I'm not sure if now is a good time.."

Lattice nodded quietly at him, "I did not mean right this instant but soon," she replied softly as she quietly kept a hold of his sleeve, this was the last thing she'd want to see left unresolved. She had apologizing of her own to do as well but she knew that without anyone having to turn to her to say so. Right now she was more concerned for the shattered friendship.
"I should have gone with my Sister back to the Manor to observe her Ritual," she said to Mot softly. Not only because she felt horrible right now but because she missed her Sister dearly.
Quietly the ghoul shifted a bit before she spoke again, "I am really sorry for everything."

Bul observed from his snuggle pile the chaos ensuing in the group before him and glared angrily at them. What bickering nonsense. Attention hungry, immature, disorganized students taking this field trip like it was appropriate to play drama-lama while their deaths waited just behind all these walls.
Returning to natural form Bul let his tail curl around his teammates and kept a close eye on Team Not-So-Awesome. It wasn't his place to intervene but damnit if they lost their own alliances over such petty s**t he'd get himself involved next time.

Mot grimaced. Poor Lattice, she shouldn't have to bear his own team's weight. He patted her hand softly, shaking his head. "There's no way you would have known." He rationalized. Who would have thought a training exercise would turn into this?
"Don't be. It isn't your fault. We've been out of hand this whole entire trip. I'm sorry you ended up entwined in it." He really wondered what had happened. Before the trip, there had been warning signs of discontent. They seemed so minor at the time. He should have known that their team would falter. He'd had hope though. Hope that through training, their comradeship would shine through. He'd bee mistaken. At every chance they got downtime, all they did was bicker.
Mot fell silent.

Lattice shifted her shoulders, "I suppose not," she agreed. Lattice wasn't psychic after all.
The ghoul uttered a small sigh, "I guess so," she felt uneasy still but now she was relaxed and feeling a bit easy. When Mot fell silent it gave her a moment to try and think of something else, something better. Maybe she could make Mot feel better somehow. A change of topic would probably do well enough. They could sit and exchange apologies until the crows come home but it did nothing but start a new cycle it seemed.
"I am almost done with all of your inks, Mot. When this is all done I shall get them to you," she said quietly to him trying to smile.

The silence was nice, and he took those moments to simply not think. Thinking made him feel worse. Feeling worse about it all would not help him in this house.
The change in subject was welcomed, and Mot managed a small smile. "Oh, yeah? I didn't realize you were making more than one. I'm excited to get them." He grinned a bit. "Thank you."
Oh shoot. Would the conversation die there? Something to say.. something to say.. "Oh.. I met your sister. You two look a lot alike."
...well that was dumb. Of course they look alike.

Well. Lattice could technically talk about ink all day if allowed to.
"I got a bit carried away," she admitted actually giggling a little bit though she didn't let on that she made one vial of ink in the shade of his favorite color, that was supposed to be a surprise.
The ghoul blinked a bit and this time she smiled a bit wider, "We do?" it seemed Lattice never really thought she and her Sister looked that much the same but then it was hard to tell for certain when one is blind and could only identify the other through tattoos. "Isn't she a wonderful ghoul? I miss Needle so much...I was really scared that I wasn't going to see her again."
Despite saying this it didn't bring her to think of her capture or anything TOO negative.
