Amelia Frances
Fairy registered first. She liked fairies; had a collection of shirts with pictures of them. She'd always believed in fairies, on a certain level, finding them being the most realistic, just invisible tiny creatures. Then the adjective registered. Her eyes widened while she quietly started, "Biting?!" She made a face against that. She wasn't looking nearly as forward to next class as she'd barely been before. At least there were unicorns in between. She lingered as the others started away, wanting to figure out more details about the treat.

Eriena Emm – Gryffindor – 5th year Eriena's mouth formed into a grim line at Sparrow's reading of Doxies. She remembered their sharp little teeth from a rather nasty incident from when she was seven years old. She had been climbing up a tree, unaware that a nest of Doxies had taken residence. Her intrusion had caused them to attack her with their sharp little fangs, and she had fallen out of the tree. She had hated the little buggers ever since.
"Lousy little pests," she muttered under her breath. She wasn't really looking forward to this lesson and would stay as far away from the Doxies as she could within hearing distance.

Meiko nodded at Amelia as she said. "They are sometimes referred to as the 'Biting Fairy', and Doxies have shiny beetle-like wings, and a double row of sharp venomous teeth. If bitten, a wizard or witch should take an antidote immediately."

The relief was obvious within Amelia's sigh. So there was no way Professor Kalle would bring something that could harm them, well unless you were stupid like that Slytherin. She had nothing to worry about. She waved her friends on, moving backwards, telling them quietly she'd catch up later.

 Kalle's ear twitched at the sound of the girls talking about doxies. They were nasty little things, but interesting nonetheless, and far better than Blast-Ended Skrewts. Her lips broke into a small smile as she raised her wand and gave it a flick. A small cage covered in a thick blanket flew toward her and rattled continuously. 'Although Meiko and Sparrow have placed them in a rather unflattering light, I find doxies rather fascinating. Now I see that some of you know of them or have at least heard of them, but they are most commonly referred to as Biting Fairies. Of course, should you keep your distance you will not be bitten. I give you,' she said, pulling the cover from the silver cage with one sweep, 'Morgîl, our doxy!' Inside the cage was a small black being that rather resembled a cruel old woman with multiple arms and beetle wings. Our doxy Morgîl.
{ I apologize for the size of the image, as well as not posting the lesson for so long. My computer got a virus that took far longer to heal than I thought. }

Amelia Frances
Amelia jerked, turning to stare at what was revealed. Unconsciously she’d been sensing the negative creature, but it was easily diluted by the array of students. Now that the doxy could see, it was as if his emotions had strengthened, blaring at her. She took a step back. All of her senses told her to run. It wasn't...pure. It was a variety of emotions, more than she'd sensed in a creature before. It was cocky, believing was better than anything it could see, and it was willing to hurt them in order to prove it was best. It reminded her when her dad took to drinking. The creature was angry. Mad at being locked up, at being shown in the weakened state. But even if it was free, Amelia knew, it'd want to hurt them. Not kill, no to play. But its form of play would only be one sided. Yeah, she was agreeing with Sparrow right now. Still, she wasn't about to insult it, "He's a handsome color of blue." Instantly, she could feel its eyes focus on her, and laugh. He knew that she was afraid of it. Knew that she was just trying to appease it.
Amelia's face snapped into an angry mask. With which she locked eye contact with the creature. Her pride rose up, and she ignored her fear, as if it was someone else's, and she stood as tall as possible. She could sense his confusion; she knew it expected her to cower, like all bullies do, but Amelia knew you fight back when you're facing a bully.

Olli Hufflepuff ; Fifth Year"Creepy little bugger..." whispered Olli to Ammy as she came down from her trip to the Hospital Wing. She was glad to get rid of Adaleide. The whole way she had done nothing but spit, hiss and growl. Now that she though of it, she kind of reminded her of a doxy. Olli giggled.

Amelia turned towards, her an eyebrow raised. Was she laughing at the thing? It was creepy! Still, it would be a good defense against it. Ruining it's image. Her responsive giggle came easily though she asked, "Is it its hair?" Smiling at her friend. She could feel the doxy's anger grow at being ignored and especially at the possibility of being laughed at, but Amelia ignored it. Olli was much more interesting anyway.

Ginelle watched this creature with great curiosity. She had the strangest feeling that she had seen one before. She noticed how the wings looked, and how the creature was small."Professor, when bitten by a doxie, what happens?" She had the strangest feeling she already knew the answer to that question, but she wanted her suspicions to be confirmed.

Olli Hufflepuff ; Fifth YearOlli smiled when Ammy joined her gigglefit. 'Not necessarily just it's hair, but does it remind you at all of Adaleide with all its spitting and hissing?" she said, covering her grin with a hand.

This time Amelia truly laughed before covering her mouth with her hand, and trying to hide behind the other students so that Professor Kalle wouldn't see her. She nodded to Olli, it was quite similar. Her smile faded a little as she felt Ginelle's odd sensation. She couldn't figure out what it was, apprehension? She didn't seem scared of the doxy, and her question was reasonable, as they were referred to as "biting fairies." But something seemed off. She had no idea what though.

Ginelle heard what Olli said, and she had the urge to hit her. Her temper flaired for a moment, but then she decided not to do anything. She took a deep breath, and decided to get closer to the Doxy. "Olli, I know that Adaleide isn't very nice, but... there isn't really a reason to be mean to her. Stooping down to her level isn't the brighest move, is it?" She said this with out glancing at Olli or Amelia. She had a feeling that Amelia would get angry with her too, along with Olli, so she decided to start a new conversation. Ginelle said "I think my father brought a Doxy home once. He took it out of the cage when I was really young, and it bit him. I feel like I remember this. I could be wrong though." She watched the little creature beat its wings, and fly around in the cage. She smiled at it, remembering that her dad had to take the emergency potion for the doxy bite he had just bought. He got it back in the cage and sent it back to where her got it from.

Amelia looked properly abashed. "You're right Ginny, and she's not so bad. She was nice to me in potions..." when most of her concern was on Aludra. Still at her friend's story her eyes widened. Wasn't her father dead? Was that how it happened? Oh god, Amelia reached out touching Ginelle's shoulder, squeezing gently as she tried to send pleasing thoughts to her. She'd learned a lot helping Aludra, but she still wasn't good at sharing the emotions she had, at cheering people up. At least without her music.

Ginelle looked at Amelia and surprise covered her face and expressions. She was very alarmed that her friend was alarmed about this."Oh, Amelia! No, it was alright! My mother told me about this story. He had to take a potion, and he was fine afterwards. The doxy story was just something that my mom told me when I asked about my father after learning about magic. She told me that getting the doxy back into the cage was actually really amusing for them. My mother told me that it landed on my shoulder and I grabbed it, and my dad took it from me. Then, it bit him and he put it back in the cage and took the potion. My dad was killed by a dark wizard by the name of... Bellatrix a long time ago." The whole Dark wizard story was something she was starting to get used to. The first few times, she wanted to do something about it. Then, after she knew all the information about her dad being an Auror, and it was his job to hunt them down, being an Auror and hunting down dark wizards was a goal of hers.

 Kalle nodded at Ginny's question. 'A doxy bite sends poison straight to your blood, and must be medicated immediately to ensure the infection does not spread. Should it spread it will cause your skin to go chalky and pale, and large purple boils to form all over your skin, all filled with the venom. It is not a pretty sight I can assure you, and if left for too long it can be far more serious,' Kalle added with a slightly grim and discomforted expression. 'Thankfully, in Ginny's case, her father was smart about it. That is why you listen to what I say when around creatures.'
