Selene

Selene took a hold of Mina's hands, helping her to stand, then she and Miron took either side of her sister, walking her over towards Linda and Riku. Seeing Linda's eyes open slightly, Selene uttered a small cry of relief.

"Mina, I think that you have more to work with than I first thought..." Selene whispered to her sister. "I thought that she had been further gone than she appears to be at the moment..." Helping Mina to kneel next to Riku and Linda, Selene and Miron knelt as well. "Riku, you're doing great," she said with a small smile, and then looked at Linda. "Keep holding on..." she murmured, holding hands with Mina so that Mina wouldn't have to draw solely on her own strength to heal Linda.

Mina

Mina gave Selene a slightly smile as she was helped up and once Selene and Miron had her walking over to Linda and Riku she sighed, glad that she would be able to help. Once she was lowered to the ground in front of Riku and Linda Mina closed her eyes and smiled at the feel of Selene's hand in hers. She was glad that she wouldn't be just pulling energy from Meiun. "Riku, just keep talking to her while I heal her. Selene you know what to help me focus on." Mina nods at what Selene was saying for she too had feared that Linda was too far gone for her to be of any help. Her eyes closed as she lightly rested her free hand on one of Linda's hands and as she did so she allowed herself to slip into Linda. She could tell that she wouldn't be able to heal Linda fully like she wished to for there was too much damage done, but she would do what she could and maybe later work on finishing what she was about to start. Mina focused on healing the wounds that were on Linda's shoulders first, slowly closing them from the inside out so that the bleeding would stop which would help Linda to slowly build up her strength again. After the wounds on both of her shoulders were healed Mina slowly went through Linda's body healing any other injury she had gotten. She had just finished healing some of Linda's internal wounds when she swayed and had to pull herself back into her own body. She sighed and leaned back against Meiun's legs and spoke softly to everyone. "Linda should be fine to continue on, though we will all have to move a little slower seeing as a few in our group were injured. Riku, you should take Linda to the small pong that was just inside the forest and help her clean off the blood. If she is willing she can wear one of my extra gowns, she can choose whatever one she wants." She handed Riku the bag that held her clothing.

Selene

Selene gave Mina some of her own energy before letting go of her hand. Selene had seen what Mina had done, and she held a new respect for her sister, even stronger than the respect that she had held for her before. She was just as tired as Mina, and leaned against Miron. He held her and smiled, before looking at Linda, frowning against the strong smell of the faerie's blood. Selene smiled up at Miron, and kissed his cheek.

"We can go someplace a little farther off if you want my love," she said softly, but he shook his head. Looking at Linda, Selene's smile grew a little sad as she thought of how close they had come to losing the woman. "Riku, let us know if you need any help," she said after a few seconds. "I think that you should be fine though." She smiled warmly at him, and squeezed his hand. "It was because of you that Linda didn't slip into the afterlife. Thank you," she said softly.

Riku smiled slightly as he heard Linda whisper his name. “Yeah…It’s me.” He felt some relief when he noticed her eyes were open. However, the gazed look they had only made the brief end to his inner turmoil fade away quickly. The salty tears ran slowly down his face as he watched her. Even when he cried, the tears never were so much to cause him to sniffle and sob. However, the assassin knew that if he allowed himself to show his sadness long enough…then sniffles and sobs would surely follow. The movement of her arm did not go unnoticed by the assassin. But, his attention went towards the tears falling down her face. His hand wiped them away as she choked out something. The assassin could barely tell what she was trying to say. “You can tell me when you are better what you want to say…Right now, you need to rest.”

His body froze and his face grew cold as the others came around the two. Before, it was easy to let himself go since it felt like him and Linda were the only two in the world. But, now that the others were around them….Riku’s façade immediately came back into play. At Selene’s compliment, he nodded slightly as he looked at Linda. “I guess…” As his eyes gazed at her face, the assassin felt at a loss for words. What am I post to say now? For one of the few times in his life, Riku felt speechless, unable to come up with anything to say. He pressed his lips together as the tears hung against his eyelashes. However, unlike before, the assassin blinked them back. Luckily, Mina’s voice allowed him to keep himself under control.

But, as if echoing her own words, Mina told him to keep on talking. Yeah. How am I post to do that when I don’t even know what to say? He almost glared at the fairy, but decided against it as his eyes looked around him. When he caught a glimpse of the forest, Riku found exactly what he was looking for. “Linda….remember that bet me and Dominick had? The one involving who can get through the forest the fastest?” The assassin turned his head towards Linda, catching the first signs of Mina’s magic at work. She is an incredible healer. I will give her that much. But for now, Riku had to focus on talking. “He almost beat me that cheap skate! Though, he always did have his little surprises. But that time, I definitely kicked his a**.” He chuckled slightly as Mina started to sway. Must have used too much magic at once. The assassin could only hope that the major injuries were taken care of, like the shoulders had been. “He should have remembered there is a reason why trees are my friend. It is because I know how to use them to travel like a flying squirrel.”

His mouth stopped moving when Mina began to speak. The assassin looked over at her as she explained how Linda should be fine, but that they needed to move slower than normal. I can take slowness over losing Linda any day. Normally, that would not be the case. But, when loved ones are involved, sometimes even cold-hearted men bend their rules….just a little. At the mentioning of taking Linda to a pond to help clean her off, Riku blinked his eyes slightly. Ummm, isn’t that something another female should help with? After all, wouldn’t that probably require her to be…undressed? The idea of that being the case did make Riku slightly smirk. However, he knew Linda would be the type to punch him if he tried anything…perverted…on her.

Once Mina handed him her bag of clothing, he removed one arm from around Linda. Then, he swung the bag over his shoulder as Selene mentioned they would help if need be. “No thanks. I’m good.” After making sure the bag wouldn’t fall off his shoulder, he wrapped his arms around Linda and lifted her up gently. He held her to his chest and prepared to get moving. But then, Riku felt a hand squeeze his own. As if she needed to confirm his thoughts, Selene believed he would do just fine. A small shrug left his mouth before Riku’s expression turned a bit….puzzled. Her words made no sense to the assassin. He had done nothing other than talk and make an utter fool of himself. The real heroine was Mina who healed the fairy in his arms. So, why was it that Selene made him out the hero of this rescue? Admittedly, Riku wasn’t sure he would ever understand. “Your…your welcome.”

With this, the assassin started making his way towards the pond. He had no idea if the others would follow him. If they did, Riku wouldn’t have minded….much. But, the assassin would question why they needed the whole group just to give one woman a bath. Then again, Riku wasn’t sure why he was needed to help clean her off. However, this felt like one of those times he shouldn’t question it. “Hey Linda…how do you…want to do this? Do you want me to just hand you the stuff and you clean yourself….orrrrr, do you actually want me to help…get the blood off you?” He didn’t feel nervous about the prospect of washing her. It just felt more...awkward; considering Riku didn’t usually help people wash themselves on a daily basis. "Either way...we need to get that blood off you."

Soon, they found themselves at the pond and placed her near the water's edge. He leaned up against a tree nearby and closed his eyes, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable. Well, let's see how this goes. I got a feeling this is going to be....interesting.

Linda

Linda smiled after Riku closed his eyes, and then used one of her knives to cut her ruined clothes off of her body. She slipped into the pond, submersing herself and giving a soft sigh of relief. The blood washed off and out of her hair. After she was sure that her body was clean, she got out of the pond, and pulled out a dress out of the bag that Riku had set down. She pulled it on, and then went over to Riku, tapping him on the shoulder.

"Riku, I'm dressed now," she said. Smiling up at him, she kissed him on the cheek. "I want to tell you what I had been trying to say before." She raised herself onto her tiptoes and kissed him gently, leaning against him with her hands lightly resting upon his chest. "I love you..." Looking into his eyes, her face held a slight tinge of blush, bringing colour to her still too pale face. Her legs gave out on her as she stepped back, and she fell to her knees, still a little too weak from the blood loss. She groaned in frustration, and then began to try to struggle to get up.

The assassin rested his hands against his abdomen. His eyes stayed hidden behind his eyelids as Linda washed herself of the blood. While he would have liked to sleep, Riku knew that would be unwise. Thus, he kept himself vigilant, his senses focused on any noise that might be the forewarning towards company. As Linda started to approach him, the pace of his breathing stopped as his body naturally prepared to spring into action. The assassin knew his muscles would react like they were trained to do. He only hoped Linda would not take offense to the tenseness of his muscles as she tapped his shoulder.

At her voice telling him she was dressed, his eyes opened and his body stood up. As his hands brushed over his blood stained clothing, Riku glanced over at Linda’s attire. A small smirk appeared at how the dress clung to her lovely figure. However, her lips against his cheek caused him to stop his admiration of her body. When she mentioned wanting to finish her words, Riku nodded and expected her to finish her thought. Instead, the assassin felt her lips against his own. Her hands rested against his chest as the assassin moved his lips against hers in response. However, the kiss stopped sooner than the assassin liked. But, the words she told him made up for it easily. His lips tugged into a smile as her face gained some color from her blush. “I…I…I love you too…Linda.”

However, before the shock of his admission went through his veins, Linda’s legs gave out on her. Immediately, he crouched down and placed his hands on her shoulders. “Stay put. You still need to recover your strength.” A small shrug left him as he unstrapped his own bag from his back. After doing so, Riku took out a change of clothes and looked over at Linda. “I think I’ll take the opportunity and get the blood off me myself as well. I’m sure that fight I had with that strange creature has given me a couple of wounds I need to treat anyway.” He smirked as he started removing his scarf. “So, unless you want a sneak peak, I suggest you look away…and stay still.” With this, Riku worked on removing all of his clothes. One he finished, the assassin made his way into the water and started to clean himself off.

Linda

Linda nodded and just at there, her hands folded in her lap. He had said that he loved her too! Her eyes were sparkling with happiness, and some more colour filled her cheeks. He had kissed her back, and he had held her. Pressing her hands to her heart, she smiled to herself, happy with how her life had come to this point. Humming softly to herself, she started drawing random designs in the dirt, and listening to the soft sounds of the water behind her, and Riku splashing slightly in it. A faint blush coloured her cheeks as she thought about the fact that she had bathed, and he now was. But she knew enough about him to know that he had not peeped. And neither would she.

Still smiling and humming to herself, she wiped out the random designs, and folded her hands once again in her lap. She felt content, though weak, and knew that from then on, her life would be different. A thought struck her.

"Riku," she called, her voice still not stronrg, but it wasn't wavering. "What happened to that creature? The last thing I really remember before... Well, I was fighting her... What happened to her?" she asked.

The assassin noticed some cuts and bruises from the previous fight that marred his skin. However, it did not faze him as he made sure to pay special attention to them. After all, an assassin wasn’t allowed to let anything stop him from his work. Not even wounds that would cause most to not want to move around at all. Once satisfied with his bath, Riku moved out of the water and started drying himself off with some cloth he kept in his bag for such a reason. Occasionally, his eyes looked over at Linda to see she was drawing random designs in the dirt. A slight smile appeared at that as he got himself dressed. The only difference in this outfit was that it was different shades of black and grey. It does make my red hair stand out more, but black and grey makes it easier to hide in the shadows.

As he rung out his hair, he heard Linda speaking to him. Her voice didn’t waver, but it was not strong. That is some improvement. She seemed curious about the creature he had mentioned earlier. A shrug left his lips as he walked over to her, grabbing his bag and sitting down in front of her. “I’m not sure. One minute I was fighting it….the next…it was gone.” As he answered her question, his hands worked on putting his knee high black boots on his feet. “It might have been a spirit who was able to attain solid form. That would explain its’ sudden disappearance. But, without encountering it again…I can’t say for sure.” He rubbed his temple after finishing securing the boots. “All I know…is that when my mind tries to recall anything about its’ origins….my mind feels foggy, like someone tampered with it.” The assassin experienced memory manipulation before. It was never fun, and extremely annoying.

“One thing is for sure though. It was a b***h to fight, and I’m sure I would have gotten wore down to the point of being lunch meat…if it wasn’t for its’ strange departure.” He stood up slowly, moving his feet slightly to make sure he hadn’t cut off circulation to them by accident. The red pools looked down at Linda with calm neutrality, an expression that usually was plastered on the assassin’s face. “Do you think you will be able to walk, or do you want me to carry you?” His hands already worked on getting his bag strapped to his back once more as he waited for a response.

Mina

Mina watched as Linda was carried off into the forest in Riku's arms, a small smile on her lips as she remained seated on the ground where she had been as she healed Linda. She looked up to Selene and gave her a small smile before she closed her eyes and took a slow deep breath. She was extremely tired and wished to change out of her dress that had a huge blood stain over her heart. "Selene, do you have an extra gown that I could change into? I gave Linda my last gown and I don't think I will be able to clean the blood out of this one." Mina looked at the couple as she leaned back against Meiun's legs, she didn't think she would be able to stand on her own so she thought to just stay seated for the time being. "Miron, do you think there is a place we will be able to set up camp in the forest? I don't wish to put any more innocents in danger by staying at another inn, so I think from here on out we should stick to camping in the forests. We will have to stop in villages and town to get supplies from time to time but I think that would be what we should do. What do you all think? I'll ask what Linda and Riku think when they return."

Linda

Linda started to push herself to her feet, and put her hand out against the trunk of the tree in front of her. Turning around and facing Riku, she looked up at him, a warm and loving smile spreading over her face as she met his eyes, and she moved forward to meet him a little.

"I'm sure that you don't have to carry me, but I know that I won't be able to walk the full way on my own," she said, holding a hand out to him. She stumbled slightly and the hand reached up to grab his shoulder, and she fell against him. "Oops... Sorry," she said sheepishly. Smiling a little, she straightened herself and kissed him on the cheek. "Let's go before the others think you're doing something naughty to me," she said impishly.

Selene

Selene looked at Miron, hearing the question that Mina had posed. Miron nodded and stood, helping Selene to stand and then started towards the forest, almost running into Linda and Riku as they came out.

"We are going to be spending the night in the forest, so you can just follow us back in," Selene said with a smile.

Riku noticed the warm smile spreading over Linda’s face. His lips tried to form a similar look, but it did not look exactly the same. It looked to be a mixture of a smirk and a smile. However, the emotion still lied in his eyes as she moved towards him. The assassin moved closer to her to make sure she didn’t have to go far. Luckily, that seemed to be wise choice as Linda mentioned how she wouldn’t be able to walk the whole way by herself. A brief nod showed he understood as his hand reached out towards hers. But, it seemed Linda tripped on something. What she tripped on was unknown. Maybe the fairy had grown clumsy in her new fond state of weakness? While the assassin was curious, he did not let his feeling stop his hands from placing themselves on her hips. That way, he could steady her.

At her apology, Riku could only chuckle slightly. “It’s alright. It would be too much to ask you to be all fine and dandy after such a….experience…” For some reason, the assassin couldn’t mention how she almost died. Admittedly, Riku wanted to push the memory to the back of his mind….and act like it never happened. However, he knew that he would only be deluding himself. Linda had barely come out of her torture session alive, and the assassin was going to make sure that never happened again.

But, the assassin stopped his thoughts when she kissed his cheek. He formed a small smile as she pulled away. However, his mind took a slightly naughtier road at Linda’s next comment. The smile turned into a smirk as his arms wrapped around her waist. After pulling her close to him, Riku moved his mouth close to her ear, breathing softly against her earlobe. “I wish I could be doing some naughty things to you right now…” His huskiness oozed off every word as he moved back slightly. “But, that will have to wait until you are healed and ready to go.” The subtle wink came after his lips brushed against her cheek. “Now then, let’s get out of here before I change my mind.”

A light chuckle left his lips as he let go of her, taking her hand as they started walking towards the edge of the forest. However, as they came out of the forest, they almost ran into Selene and the others. His muscles went rigid as Selene started to talk. They should learn not to freak out an assassin….If I hadn’t controlled myself, they would have been jumped and had a blade against their throat in an instant. Once the fairy princess finished, Riku nodded slightly. “Sounds like a good plan. We will be able to take shifts better that way, and we won’t be getting nuisances bothering us either.” By nuisances, the assassin meant innocents. To him, they were a bit of an annoyance considering they tended to get in the way. However, Riku didn’t feel the need to clarify himself. “Now, shall we get going? It will be harder to set up camp if we don't do it before sundown.”

Linda

Linda blushed brightly as Riku leaned closer. It wasn't that she didn't want it. She was just caught off guard. She caught herself tilting her face up to meet Riku's lips, but then turned away, her face even brighter. She enjoyed the feel of his hands on her hips and wanted to move closer, but felt him take her hand and they started towards the forest edge. She felt him tense when they almost ran into Selene and Miron, and then gladly heard the idea to stay in the forest. She would never admit it to Riku, but she was scared of another visit from Joshua. She shivered slightly but shook her head and looked up at Riku, her hand raising to gently and carefully rest on his arm.

"Come on Riku. I don't want to slow the others down," she said softly as she took a step after Selene and Miron. She rather hoped that she wouldn't become a nuisance to Riku as well as the other people that he seemed to be speaking of. Looking back out at the slowly closing day, she shivered again, and couldn't quite keep the terror from her eyes as she looked back into the forest. She was remembering another time that Joshua had found her, and Riku had helped her that time too. Of course, she hadn't been even close to Death that time. This time, she had almost shaken Death's hand. She shook her head, fighting to keep from trembling, and subsequently, her hold on Riku's hand and arm seemed to get a little tighter. "Never again..." she mumbled to herself, almost to quiet for him to hear.

She was scared that Joshua would find her everywhere that she went, no matter what he found out from King Darian. Somehow, she couldn't make herself strong like she once had been. She couldn't suppress a third shiver though, and then tried to shove Joshua from her mind. It didn't work. She supposed it would only work when she fell asleep. Or she just might have nightmares...

Mina

With help from Meiun Mine was able to slowly get to her feet and walk into the forest to find where the others were getting ready to set up camp. She knew that if she didn't save her strength that she would slow the group down more then they could afford so instead of giving others a some energy or help heal Linda more she just took a seat against a tree as she watched the others. Mina took a breath and spoke hoping to get the attention of the others. "Everyone, I would like to know what you all think we should do until our group is fully healed. We will have to move slowly that is for a fact but should we stay in one place for a few days until we are all healed and rested? I also would like to know what everyone thinks about camping in the woods and forests instead of endangering another village." Mina breathed and closed her eyes as she waited for what the others had to say on the matter. She wanted to get this out of the way before she bathed and changed herself, so she sat there in her blood stained dress still unsure of what exactly had happened and wasn't sure she wished to even try and explain it to anyone, let alone Linda seeing as somehow whatever she had seen had to deal with King Darian.

Selene looked over at Mina and then went over to her sister, Sitting down beside her, Selene put a hand on her sister's shoulder.

"What's wrong Mina?" she asked softly, knowing from experience that something was wrong.
