Zed cleared some scrap metal off of the chair then sat down and looked over the controls, only taking a second before pressing several buttons that made the manual controls appear from a hatch in front of him. "There we go... nice and simple...." He had a breif strech before grabbing the control stick and pressing a few more buttons that made the ship start to rise from under the sand. The bulky metal ship groaned and shook violently.

Koko staggered as the ship shook, just barely managing to stay on her feet. There was a lot of chances for debris to fly across & hit them - due to the scattered pieces of metal all over the place. She got closer to Zed, leaning on the smashed control panel to see what he was doing. "This thing ain't gunna stay in the air long even if ya get it up. I'd give you 15 minutes max, got that?"

"I'm just gunna park it on a dune..." Zed raised the engine power and yanked the control stick towards him, raising the front of the ship out of the sand. The large ship slowly pulled itself out from under the sand and floated slowly over another dune before one of the engines exploded, causing it to slowly fall all of 3 meters to the ground. "Well, that was dissapointing." The rusted ship groaned as the engines lost power. Zed got up and looked out of the window at the Aiolos that was floating over a nearby dune. "Oh, thats where I left it... Do ya think She could carry this hunk of junk on the magnet? ...it is a very good magnet..."

Koko looked over at the Aiolos then out of the window at the exploded engine. She contemplated the idea for a few moments before flicking off the main controls then turning to Zed & putting her hand on her hip. "You get your a** back to the Aiolos, I have an idea. If it doesn't work we can try your little magnet plan." With that Koko took off into the depths of the ship again, heading in the direction of the turbine rooms. There was a chance she could re-route the power to the remaining engine & get this ship moving - albeit very slowly.

Better not scratch my ship... Zed sat back in the seat then pressed a button on the side of it. The ejector seat fired Zed to the dune that Aiolos was now landed on, he got up then back on his ship. He reached the cockpit then spoke to Koko over their uplinks. "What now?"

Koko had reached the turbine room & was now working on one of the less damaged ones - having acquired some tools on the way down here. It took a little while for her to answer him, "You're gunna see how good I am at speed-job repairs. Even with one engine I should be able to get this baby flyin' a little." There was a lot of banging, welding & cracking sounds from Koko's end of the uplink - sounding at such quick speeds that it was apparent she was using her genetic abilities - before she yelled. "Come on you hunk o' junk!!" She smashed it one more time & the turbine roared into life, it sounded like one of the larger ones from the first engine room. The mercenary smiled before speaking into the uplink again. "By the way Zed. This baby's mine!"

"That'd be great if it wasn't falling apart..." The Aiolos was about half the size of the other ship which sat on the sand slowly starting up below it.

Koko laughed down the uplink & in the time it had taken Zed to speak she'd managed to get another turbine working - although this one wasn't spinning as quickly & probably wouldn't last very long. "I can use her for scrap metal & equipment. She ain't gunna fly much longer." The mercenary sped off back to the control room, activating the main controls that would start the engines. She did, however, activate a system on the craft that re-routed any power going to the broken engine into the working one, giving it enough of a boost to power the craft for a short distance. Slowly but surely, the ship rose unsteadily into the air; shards of metal fell off the hull onto the desert below as she powered it up. "By the way, I've never really flown one o' these before. Ah well, practice on the fly."

Zed flew the Aiolos over the other ship, lowering the magnet from the cargobay onto the top of it to take some of the strain off of it's already damaged engines. "There we go... Right, where we headed then?"

"I thought you knew!" Koko sighed & battled to keep the ship level & in the air; she looked quickly over the different dials & information being shown from the ship's screens. "Hey Zed, she ain't gunna stay in the air much longer, even with help from the Aiolos, her hull won't take it. So wherever you plan on taking her, make up your mind quick!" Just as she said that, another section of the hull blew apart & pieces of debris rained down onto the desert sand.

Zed turned the Aiolos slowly then carried on in one direction. "There's an old junkyard this way, i'm sure they've got tools and stuff you could use to repair it..."

Koko raised one eyebrow & gestured at the ship. "You really think I can fix this piece o' crap? I'd rather scavange her for parts & use 'em on the Aiolos! She's my baby & there's still so many things I gotta fix on her." She ship shuddered & lost a bit of it's altitude, putting the ship's underside dangerously close to the desert sand - there was barely 100 feet spare now. Koko tried to pull the ship's nose up & increased the power to the remaining engine as much as she dared.

"Don't worry, the Aiolos can carry the weight, just gotta make sure the magnet dosn't pull the top of the hull off... I'll increase power to the magnet so you can focus on going forward rather than just keeping yourself in the air." Zed flicked a few switches.

John frowned as he felt like there was something behind him. He turned slowly, pulling a headphone out of his ear. Seeing a large land ship heading towards him. John sprinted as fast as he could away from it, unholstering his FAMAS assault rifle. John carried on running, the land ship gaining on him quickly. He turned, firing off two bursts, killing two bandits.
A sniper shot rang out, hitting John in the leg. He flew to the ground, clutching his leg. He groaned as the landship closed in.
Bandits moved in, jeering at the fact John had killed two of their mates. John started to crawl away, dragging his wounded leg behind him. John grunted with every movement of his injured leg, he could hear the bandits drawing nearer. He rolled over to see a bandits foot smash him in the nose, breaking it with a resounding crack.
John yelled, clucthing his nose, trying to stem the blood flow. He rolled over onto his side, tears clouding his vision.
He felt someones boot on his chest, pushing him down. He looked up to see a bandit, sneering down at him.
"So, what do we have here? A little bandit killer."
The bandit turned to his audience.
"And what do we do with bandit killers?"
The bandits yelled random forms of punishments.
"Kill him!"
"Break his fingers!"
"Pull out his toe nails!"
"Disembowl him!"
The leader held up his hand.
"Get him on the ship boys! We're gonna have fun with this one!"
John was pulled up roughly and hauled onto the ship. He was stripped of his gear and thrown roughly into a dark cell. John heard the bolt slide across the door and he layed there and, for the first time in his life, he wished he was dead....

Koko looked out of the window next to her as she eased some of the power in the ship's engine, allowing it to function at fairly safe levels. She was relieved to see that there was no visible since of smoke or damage to the remaining engine. Since she was looking out, she also spotted something strange in the distance. There seemed to be a fairly large land vehicle out in the desert - she spoke to Zed. "Hey! Zed! There's something going on over there; that look like a bandit ship to you? I don't want 'em trying to attack my ship. Or this hunk of junk either! I might need it for scrap....Do ya reckon we can land this thing soon & go over in the Aiolos? Could be fun."
