Earendil chuckled. "I assume that's for the rain. But I'm glad. I couldn't help but fall asleep, but I didn't want to, not until I knew you were going to be all right ... though I guess that was just another of my baseless worries ..."
A slight bit of pink tinged his cheeks, and he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "You'd think one of these days I would learn," he murmured.

"Learn to not over do it or learn to not worry so much?" Lin asked in good humour.
She really didn't see anything wrong with it, not since technically he was much older than her. Lin figured it just must be hard to think of her as someone who could take care of herself. Especially since she spent a good portion of his life as a child.

"Ehhh ... both?" Earendil chuckled softly. "So what else has been going on since I fell asleep? Leyenda and Kelirahc made it back all right?"
He looked around. "For that matter, how did I get back here?" His tone was confused.

"I don't know if you remember since you were on the verge of passing out, but when you called out they called back and came over. Kelirahc put you on his dragon and we all flew back to the campsite."
Of course the first part she wasn't sure if Earendil remembered at all, because that was the reason why Lin knew Earendil shouldn't have worried about her. She hadn't been alone.
"I found out from Kelirahc that they have a rainy season for six months of the year here. The rain they're going to get will be a lot harder than what we experienced before so everyone had been pitching in to build stronger shelters. The river is going to flood though, which is why the village seemed so empty. It was, they migrated to live in flats in trees for the next six months."

Earendil shook his head. That was a lot to take in all at once ...
"I don't remember anything," he murmured. "Just ... a lot of walking, and then nothing."
He thought through the rest of what she had said, and thought it through again, and then a third time; and then he had only one thought. He turned to Lin and tilted his head curiously and said, "Flats?"

"Best translation to come up with, it's like.... just simply floors put somehow into the trees. He says it's quite safe and no one falls off of them, though I guess seeing it would make more sense than talking about it," Lin replied.
And she hoped to see it, perhaps sometime between rainfalls.

Earendil blinked slowly, almost owlishly. Flats ... "You mean flets?" he asked. "That ... is more what it sounds like ..."
That was something he would be very interested in seeing. He had read about them, seen them in Sir Valdemar's history books, and always wondered what they were truly like ... but never until now had he had an opportunity.

Lin nodded, "That's it...."
She blinked for a moment before checking the sky, they hadn't gotten that hard rainfall quite yet.
"I wonder how Shiro is doing, since he wasn't at the village."
And they hadn't heard from him at all.

Earendil looked around. "We could always ask Ura, right?" he suggested. "Unless he and Kaito are off somewhere ... though with the threat of rain, I can't imagine they would be too far from the shelter ..."
He looked around, wondering where the two nekos would be. He didn't quite understand the bond that Shiro and Ura shared, but he did recognize that there was indeed a bond, and a bond closer and stronger than any he had ever seen before - almost as if they shared not only a mind, but a soul or something.

"I think they're around here somewhere," Lin murmured, "Or they were when I checked last."
Not knowing when the next storm would blow in and the fact it blew in fast kept them close to the camp site. No one would want to risk being caught out in a storm worse than they already had experienced.

Earendil nodded. "Then let's see if we can find them," he smiled. "I'm eager to hear about Shiro's progress as well."
He looked around slowly, and soon enough he spotted Ura. He was alone near the water's edge, just sitting and soaking up the sun, his arms and legs sprawled out in the sand, a warm smile on his face.
Earendil chuckled. "There."

Lin giggled watching Ura for a moment before going up to him. He looked like he was enjoying himself a lot, but then again the sun here without the shade of the trees must be nice.

Ura's eyes were closed, his tail waving slightly as he enjoyed the sunshine. His ear flicked as he sensed Lin and Earendil's approach, and without opening his eyes, he smiled and murmured, "Hey. What's up?"
Earendil crouched next to him, careful not to let his shadow fall over the neko. "Comfortable?"
Ura grinned and opened his eyes. "Hey! You're awake!"

"Yup!" Lin giggled looking down at Ura.
He looked so cute lying there like that, like a kitten. Not quite like Senka though.
"Enjoying the sun before we actually get rain?"

"That," Ura grinned, "and getting some rest. Shiro's been quite active lately, especially at night, so I've been getting tired really easily. Besides, the sun's too beautiful to waste!"
Earendil chuckled. "Someday you're going to have to explain the connection between you two," he couldn't help but comment.
