Leah paused as she heard a familiar voice. Turning around she smiled as soon as she saw her blind friend, being that she hadn't seen him for a few months. She would never admit a lot of things but especially admiting that she really missed the blond boys company.

"Well, well! For a moment there i thought our little bat boy got caught by the inkies." She was kidding of coarse but she always like to irratate him by thinking he was weak because of his lack of sight. But she new he could kick her sorry a** any day.

Leah's smile turned into her usual frown, debating if she should actually tell, deciding not to she blew it off as something else.

"After failing once again another experiment i had trashed my lab, actually i was going down to fix it and hermit myself again." She explained, although it was... somewhat the truth, it wasn't what had been bugging her. But he didn't need to know that.

Leah sighed, as she moved to the direction of her lab. This wasn't a subject she wanted to talk about, and she had to start working on her experiments anyway.

"Look, Soris it's a big deal so just forget about it. Anyway i have to get back to my lab, it needs to be cleaned to badly that the last time i sat on that floor i swear i still have glass in my @ss." She grinned, sliently hoping she changed the subject of her stubborn friend and something that may be more cheerful for his first day back.

Nicolas murmured, his tone detached, where he was right now anyone could only guess..after he was laid down he stirred weakly.

He opened his eyes sleepily, they looked clouded and dark, wide with fear. As someone that had woken from a nightmare would. He stared up at the ceiling
"... I gave them my life, ungrateful, I did their dirty work for years.. why couldn't they.. Donnie.."

His clouded eyes filled with tears.
He looked around at those around the stretcher as if their presence was the same as ghosts in a dream..
"It's my fault.. I should have been watching him.."

"It's my fault.."

Asmodeus rushed over to her friend and took Nic's other hand. Somewhere deep in her heart, she understood what he was saying. She had gone through a similar thing not so long ago... "When something bad happens to those you love and care about....It's not so easy to let it go...." She murmured and tightened her grip on his hand. "When you live a life that's tough and fail to protect the ones close to you....It becomes a pain worse that anything else...." She surprised herself with her own words, but shock wore away to bitterness.

Zekiel perked up at his best friend's name. "Oh yeah! I hear him too!" He entwined his hand in hers and tugged lightly. "Come on!" He walked down the stairs with Sunny in tow and waved as he saw Messoris and Leah. "Yo, Soris! You're back!"

Messoris grinned at Zekiel and gave him a high-five. "Yo, Zeeks, what's up?" He noticed Zekiel's and Sunny's hands, clasped together tightly and smirked. "So....You finally up and get the courage to tell her while I'm gone, eh?"

Asmodeus felt herself tear up again. "Unless you understand that...You can never say you're really sorry for one's hurt..." She muttered bitterly and felt a tear roll down her face. She understood that all too well....

Zekiel let out a laugh and he and Messoris did a bro fist, pulling each other into a hug. "Eh, don't worry about her, Soris, you know how she is....You should've see her when I came back with the newbies a couple of days ago...." He chuckled. "So, what've you been up to, bat boy? Found anything new?"

Messoris shrugged. "Nothing we haven't heard before. Same ol, same ol. Only different thing is that they're more annoying..." His expression grew dark. "There have been rumors that they might be changing the Code age as well.....No confirminations on that though....."

Messoris could only shrug in reply. "It's only a rumor. We don't want to do anything rash. Let's wait for some time before we do anything. Besides, we should tell Doctor Rain before anything else..." He couldn't help but feel...Uneasy. The tone they were using....It was almost as if they had already decided...

Zekiel felt a bit uneasy as well, although he didn't know his friend felt the exact same way. He rubbed his wrist out of habit and he found himself in a rare mood. Uncomfortable and...Uneasy...He shook it off and sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Well, since you're here, might as well go see Doc...You look like hell..." He tried to lighten up the mood a little.

Nicolas breathed slowly, his dreary eyes fell upon the needle in his arm. He breathed deeply, shaking himself as if to fight the sleep he was falling into from the exhaustion of it all. He looked up to the face of the doctor unsteadily.

" 'anks Rain.."

He lay his head down on the gurney table staring at the ceiling. Slowly his eyes began to draw closed, he fought to keep them half open. But eventually he lost and his eyes slid shut, and he feel into a deep, peaceful sleep.

The first non-drug induced sleep in what felt like a long time.
