"I highly doubt that we are the only people with powers. Strange things happen everyday. How did Mr. Ray get his powers? I doubt it's from the same way we got ours... Which leads me to a question. I know it might sound weird, but if we all got our powers from the same thing, then why do we all have different powers? Is it due of our chemical makeup or something?"

(Crud, Sorry, Jade, I missed your post. sweatdrop )

"Yeah, sure." Ako said. He was glad he'd come up to the roof now. Not was this probably the longest he'd talked with anybody new in a while, she'd already offered to buy him breakfast. He wasn't shallow, like most of the guys he'd gone to school with, so to him this was just a friendly gesture, not an invitation.

"That question, Annie, will be answered later this afternoon. To answer your question, Tansy, it is most likely that Charles Ray did get his powers the same way you guys got yours. Meteorites have been falling on this planet for eons. Think back to ancient legends of people who could do extraordinary things. Perhaps they weren't just legend. As far as the difference in powers go, we are still trying to figure that out. We are also trying to pinpoint exactly what it is in the meteorites that is triggering this change in people. I came into contact with the fragment that struck Gidget, but I haven't changed in anyway. She, on the other hand, is all of a sudden able to disassemble and reassemble a toaster piece by piece in less than a half an hour."

A paces a little bit around the kitchen, rubbing his eyes. He looks at his sister and her friends, "Look, I understand that you guys have been through hell in the last twenty-four hours. Annie, Tansy, Garret...you guys have just met me. I can feel some distrust and that is okay. I know more about this then you guys realize, but is for a very good reason I can promise you. I can't promise answers to all of your question, but I can tell you that I will do everything I can to make sure that nothing happens to any of you. Charles Ray is an evil son of a b***h...on a deeper level than even you guys know. He wont touch you ever again; not if I have anything to say about it."

"That's very kind of you." Tansy said softly as she looked to the floor. She felt bad, but she wasn't about to tell everyone else that. If she did they would probably get on her case about it. So instead, she kept quite. She was getting awfully good at doing that. She blinked a few times, trying to keep herself awake. The food had helped, but not enough to fight off the aches and pains in her body, nor the mental exhaustion she was feeling about now. She let out a heavy sigh as she leaned her hand back behind her once more to take some pressure off of her feet somewhat. She had no idea what was next for them. And if having the answers to why they had powers would help any. But that is what they all wanted. Answers. She wasn't sure if any of them had though about if they would help at all.

Maybe is was because power is knowledge, or so they say. Suddenly, she wasn't quite sure if she wanted to know anymore. She felt lost. She knew what she wanted. She wanted a propose. Before she had lived simply to care for her sister and give her the best life that she could. She had never really thought of herself often. And now that she didn't have that, and had been spending so much time on herself, she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do. If she truly was an Angel, then she had a reason for being here... Didn't she? And that only made her think back to the skeleton. Death.... Her face paled somewhat at the thought. No. She shook her head somewhat. He's just trying to get into your head and it's working. You know better than that Tansy. She sighed again as she looked out the window once more.

She felt like a fool. Here she was, keeping everything inside when she had people standing around her who were going through much of the same thing. She wasn't that much different from them. Yet, she refused to open up to them. To tell them of all the thing she felt like she had to go through alone. And that was because of her past. Because she had always had been the strong one. She never let Lilith know when things were getting hard. When they barely had any money. All she did was try to work harder to get the money they needed. In any way she could. But that was then. And this was now. She didn't have to be strong. She didn't have to hold everything in. But she was. And she would. Because she didn't want to brother anyone else with her issues. She didn't want to bring them down just because she was upset about something. She would keep smiling and laughing, and pretend that nothing was wrong. That she wasn't feeling this pain inside. This emptiness.

No. She couldn't do that to them. It was to much to ask. They had their own issues. It wasn't fair to throw hers on top and expect them to fix it. It was her job. She had to rely on herself to fix her problems. Not the others. She pushed herself off the stove and walked back towards the living room. She needed to sit down for now. She began to chew on the inside of her cheek as she walked.

Lily smiled, her hand quickly reaching out to open the big metal door. It creaked when it opened, the bottom of the door dragging along the concrete, which really wasn't that bad. She began to quickly descend the stairs, going to the first accessible floor.

She turned, looking at her new made friend, walking backwards as she reached the door. "So, besides all of that." she motioned towards the roof top, trying to indicate about what he had shared with her. "What are some of your interests?" she was trying to make talk, seeing that it was a good distance from here to the coffee shop.

As she made her way through the top story door, she continued to walk backwards, her eyes checking her peripherals to be sure she wasn't running into any students or other foreign objects that just so happened to be in her way. She was pretty skillful at walking backwards, she remembered times when she was in high school, talking to her group of friends she did have and freaking them out by walking backwards. It was always entertaining to watch. Another thing her mother hated.

Lily groaned as she placed her hands in her pocket, feeling her phone go off once again. Damn this woman is persistent. she thought to herself as she pulled the small device out and read the 12 text messages her mother had recently sent her. She shook her head, pocketing her purple black jack once again, deciding she would call her later this after noon. Maybe

(No worries, Monte. I was gone most of the day anyways. By the way Jew, loved the post)

Ako watched as she walked backwards, admiring the skill, while at the same time watching over her shoulder for something she might not see. He thought about her question as they walked, at the same time noticing her take out her phone yet again. Someone really wanted to speak with her. "You can answer them, if you want. I won't eavesdrop."

"Ah, waiting," Annie sighed and mumbled under her breath, "I hate waiting..." Forcing a smile she continued, "Maybe it also depends on how the meteor strikes you as well..."

Stretching, Annie continued pretending to be completely confident, which was not the case by far but at least her words were half true, "Don't worry about protecting me from Mr. Charles Ray, either, sir. I plan on looking for him after this. Thanks to him I'm not really all that afraid of my powers and I can control them better than ever. Anyhow, once you tell us all you can about the powers it can only help. First off I think I'll really break his nose, then I'll see where I can go from there... something slow and painful. He's an idiot to think that going against a girl who could create acid was an intelligent idea."

Annie still felt high off endorphins and she felt almost indestructible. Sure, she was terrified by her power, and the idea of killing that one man still made her want to hurl and curl up in a ball and cry, but none of that would do any good. Someone had to take care of Charles Ray once and for all, and she was the one out of her friends with the best power to do so. For the sake of her friends, her pride, and revenge, she had to remain strong.

The small girl only smiled as she continued her backwards travel. Finally they reached the elevator, she didn't see a point in going down all those flights of steps if it wasn't needed, and right now it wasn't needed. So, she pressed the button, having her back to the door so she could still be facing her friend.

"Meh, it's not that big of a deal. Just a text message, I'll call her around noon. She most likely just wants to scream at me for something or another. Story of my life." she joked, not giving any insight that it was her mother trying to reach her. She didn't want to freak this guy out by him hearing she had a way to over bearing mother who constantly had tabs on her daughter. I can't as much as get a cold without her finding out. She's worse then the IRS. she thought blankly to herself for a moment.

Finally the door dinged, allowing those who waited- this being Ako and Lily of course- to know that it reached their floor, and the doors where open now. Not even bothering to look over her shoulder, she pivoted on her heels a full 180, now facing the recently open doors. Then just as quickly as she turned she walked through the doors, her hand holding against the opening to keep it open for her tall friend. Hopefully he can fit in here. she thought jokingly. She knew he would, though he would be awfully close to the ceiling.

Shane waits for Gidget to leave the kitchen to follow Tansy before giving Annie a deathly serious look. "Listen Annie, it's best if you get those sort of thoughts out of your head post haste. I understand your desire for payback, more than you know, but you have to understand that he has no compunction about killing someone indirectly to get them out of his hair. Now is the time to be careful and to lay low. If you go after him, the odds of you getting killed are very high. Your power is dangerous, without a doubt, but it has a limit. Type three's only have control of their chemicals up to a certain distance...but of course there is always a first time. When you've used your power, have you ever used it on moisture more than five to ten feet away from you?"

Gidget follows Tansy out of the kitchen and asks, "What's wrong Tansy? We're safe now, you can sleep if you'd like."
PostPosted: Sun Jan 31, 2010 11:39 am

Annie crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at him, and said quietly to him under her breath to him, hoping Gidget didn't overhear her. "Sir, Mr. Morris, I'm already Hell bound: I killed one of Mr. Ray's guards. They were shooting at us and I panicked. It was for both mine and Garret's safety. Killing Mr. Ray would be far more justifying than killing that poor guard who was only following orders."

She took a deep breath, "Yes, I have used it on moisture more than five to ten feet away from me. I've turned a person's insides to acid who was about twenty feet away from me... I tend to gather the moisture close to me first, change it, and then spray the acid. The closer and more of the liquid the easier of course, but I have a fair range. But then again, after repeatedly using my powers probably to its limits I was coughing up blood, had a headache, hurt all over, felt cold, and was so weak I could barely stand. I would confidently say I could control as far away as fifty feet, most likely."

The only issue Ako had with elevators was the fact that he'd seen one too many movies where they ended up plummeting the the ground floor. One of these scenes flashed through his mind as he stepped into the enclosed space, but he shrugged it off as he thought about his answer to her previous question.

"Well, if you're still interested; mainly music. Music, photography, and off-roading."
He listed of his main interests on his fingers as he took his place against one of the walls. "Of course, the only four wheel drive my family could afford to buy me was a Honda ATV. Do you know what an ATV is?" He asked the last question after he remembered that not everyone in a city would know what an ATV was, and he'd met very few girls that had ever seen one.

Lily noticed his hesitation, she figured it was a slight fear of elevators. To be honest, Lily use to be the same way, being hauled up and down by a single cable was a little unnerving. She leaned back against the wall as the door closed, pressing the button for the floor.

"Music, music is good. Everyone is interested in music I suppose. What genre do you like? " she smiled, photography, she had seen some really awesome photos, but it wasn't something she was interested in. She was much more into extreme sports, which would probably be the death of her if she didn't watch it. "ATV? Duh, I know what ATV is. " she said, a hint of excitement in her voice at the mention of the four wheeler.

"That was one of the first things I have ever been on when I was a child. Mother hated it, but father thought it was pretty awesome. His daughter the dare devil." she sighed, finally revealing something about herself. She was coming to realize that she was a pretty closed up person. She loved to hear about other people but hated telling her story. "Have you ever messed with motocross any? " that was her thing, sure ATVing was fun and all, especially jumping hills and ramps with, but bikes... something exhilarating about them, she couldn't quiet put her finger on it.

In no time, the doors of the elevator swung open once again with a ding, she smiled. Seeing that they where safely on the ground floor. She quickly stepped out of the elevator before something bad happened, like the cables snapped and they went crashing to the basement. Even though things like that only happened in movies, it was still a frightening thought.

Tansy place a smile on her face as she turned and looked to Gidget. "Yeah, I'm pretty tried." She sighed as she sat herself down on the floor out of the way of everyone. "Maybe I should just close my eyes for a few... you know, try to clear my mind a little." She sat crossed legged, back straight, and placed her wrists on her knees. "But thank you for the concern sweetie." She truly smiled at the girl.

Shane looks at her astounded, "Fifty feet, that's incredible! However, it would seem that your power comes at a very heavy price. I'll have to run a full examination to be sure, but I think that once you've burned excess calories to produce your chemicals, your body actually starts pulling anything it can from your blood stream to make the power work."

"Also, I'm not concerned about your spiritual destination. I want revenge against him just as badly as you do, but you'd be putting yourself in unnecessary danger. If you wont do it for yourself, do it for Gidget. She thinks the world of you, and would be absolutely destroyed if anything happened to you."

Gidget giggles and tugs at Tansy's arm, "No no silly...there's a guest room right over here. Y'know, with a bed and everything. There's no reason to crash on the floor when you can sleep like a regular person."

"Incredible?" Annie laughed, shaking her head and tucking a strand of her drying auburn hair behind her ear. "Then, if it is so incredible, you shouldn't worry about my safety. You are getting me and Tansy confused. Tansy is the one Gidget thinks the world of, she likes me but I highly doubt she thinks the world of me. I'm confident in my abilities, and I know for a fact that Mr. Ray is scared of me. He isn't the type to be needlessly scared of something."

She smiled, "Speaking of calories, it is finally hit me, I really haven't ate since we were taken captive. And, ever since the accident with the meteor I have had twice the appetite I used to . Which I guess makes sense if your theory is correct."
