Once everything was in its place (or rather in her bag) she hefted the thing over her shoulder. It wasn't heavy, she was just in a hurry. Standing up straight she bent her neck to the side, she seemed to have gotten a crick in her neck during the night.
"There," she called out to the others, "Now I'm ready. Senka come on."
Senka leaped up and landed on Lin's shoulder like she belonged there.

Levi followed Lin over to the horses and held out one hand to her. "So I suppose ... this is goodbye, until we meet again?" he asked, sounding a little sad. Yet there was a hopeful look on his face, a look that spoke of looking forward to seeing her again.

Lin blinked for a moment but took his hand. Did he know what the chances were with two traveling spirits like this? Not to mention her world and her life was going to be much different than his.
"Until then..." Lin agreed not wanting to say that the chances of that would be extraordinary, "Just to warn you... I might not have changed a lot the next time we meet."
She was a Second, she had to remind herself of that. She was as immortal as any elf and would never again change in her lifetime a fact she was perfectly comfortable with being with elves. Being with a human though reminded her exactly how odd she was. Lin let go of his hand to strap her bag on, wondering where Earnedil was. She couldn't get on the horse by herself the darn thing was a giant that made horses back at home look like ponies.

Levi watched as Lin looked around for something, or someone, and he himself looked around to see if he could see what she was looking for. The elven prince was looking away from them rather deliberately, but it seemed as though no one else was paying any particular attention to them.
"Can I help you te get up on your horse?" he offered, turning to Lin once more. He cupped his hand into a stirrup-shape and got down on one knee to give her a leg up.

If Senka had not prided herself on being a proud and graceful feline she would have whacked her fuzzy cute head onto Lin's neck in frustration. It didn't take a genius to figure out that Lin was looking for Earendil to help her up even a canine could figure that out! Then again she thought Earendil was only male....
"Thank you," Lin replied taking his offer for help, "These horses can go far but they're so much bigger than myself, and I'm already short."
Once up on her horse she let Senka down on the special place where she could ride and rest before thanking Levi again for his help.

Levi smiled at Lin. "I wish you a safe journey, Lin," he told her warmly, "and may the winds bring us together again soon."
He had barely finished speaking when Earendil joined them, already atop his horse. "Ready, Lin?" he asked her with a smile. "It looks like the others are anxious to go."
And indeed, Kaito, Tinuviel and Aranel had all mounted their horses and were waiting at the edge of the Rover camp.

"Ready!" Lin nodded.
She was eager to continue the journey and see the waterfall there as well. The young woman waved good bye to Levi before joining hte others at the edge of the camp.
"Silly male," Senka murmured trying to settle for a cat nap.

And after bidding farewells to the Rovers, the party continued on their way. Once again they followed along the river, the sun warm despite the early hour.
Kaito rode alongside Lin. "So," he grinned at her, "I hear you got yourself an admirer."

"A what?" Lin was so taken back by what Kaito said that she thought she had been hearing things.
She looked up at Kaito in utter confusion, since when did she get admirers? Most boys back home thought she was too much, and she was perfectly happy with them thinking that. Most of the boys that were so-called her age weren't so bright anyways.
"Kaito, what are you talking about?"

Kaito snickered. "Earendil was right. You didn't see it. Come on, Lin, when was the last time you met a guy who hung on your every word like that and forgot that anyone else existed other than you?"
Earendil was trying to pretend he wasn't overhearing the conversation, but he couldn't help but smile a bit. He rather liked Kaito's direct approach, though he would never use it himself.

Did people really do that Lin thought for a moment, she tried to think and knew the last time someone hung onto her every word it wasn't a good thing. Stupid Jonson boys she thought sourly before trying to think of someone more normal.
Well Levi did so, though she hadn't thought about it at the time. After all it was a conversation between the two of them.
"Levi last night....." Lin trailed off
He could not be suggesting, Lin so did not need that!

Kaito chuckled. "I bet the next time we go to the Borderlands, they'll be telling you about some Rover boy who keeps visiting and asking for you," he winked. "Just you wait. And knowing your relations with the Aldrich family, he'll probably show up at court once or twice, or at least try."
He wondered if the Rovers would be allowed into the palace ...

"Kaito! Don't say that Cindy still lives there!"
It wouldn't have mattered to her if he was just there for a visit, hell it wouldn't have mattered to her if he had been there looking for her except she had completely (obviously) misread him and her eldest sister was still living in the Borderlands.
And what if she was unlucky enough to have her father there on his very rare visits?
She would never live it down.... ever.....

Even Earendil laughed at that.
"Face it, Lin," Kaito grinned cattily at her, his tail waving about mischievously. "He's got a crush on you, and you told him just where to go to let people know about it."
Earendil chuckled and rode closer so that he could also take part in the conversation. "I think if we had not been in such a hurry to leave," he grinned, "he would have asked you to go with them instead."

Lin blushed and shook her head to the point were her hair was covering her face. She would never ever go with the Rovers, nice as people as they were she could not relate to them that well. Besides she wasn't some luck struck puppy.
"I was just telling him that the Borderlands isn't some foreboding place where no one comes back alive," she protested, "Besides, it would be good for them to see humans who are actually nice. Dealing with slavers day in and day out makes you forget that they're a small minority."
