That's not good Roki.

I know, right. But at the same time, it's oddly entertaining. Like every time I think about it, I smile. Of course, I could just be channeling my friend. Last year she would come up to me at school and be like "Guess what? I'm not wearing pants." She was very strange but she moved away this summer and I miss her like crazy. The girls at my school always wear the skirts unless it's winter. During winter we occasionally wear pants. (I have a very strict dress code that's only a step down from a uniform.) So when she would say she wasn't wearing pants, it cause because she was wearing a skirt. xD I miss her soooo much. I don't know how I'll get though Spanish without her.

Yes especially since it's almost 1:30 your time. Me I"m just trying to finish the Elenium so I can start Wolf Speaker and finish the Daine saga but I might do the Tamuli next instead not sure yet.

I just edited that post....I added the reasoning behind me entertainment. Of course, the fact that it is 1:25 for me is deff a factor.

Your school doesn't sound fun Roki. Mine tried to be similar my Junior year but almost none of the kids actually adhered to the dress code after the first semester. Girls had to wear a shirt that came up to their collarbones and Guys were the same except they had to have collars on their shirts. They had to wear their shirt tucked into their pants and had to wear belts. Girls weren't allowed vneck square neck or even scoop necked tops. No miniskirts even if they had leggings on underneath and no holes in any of the jeans even the ones designed like that or that had a patch on or behind them. We hated it and we rebelled cause we live in a small town and most of what the principal wanted was almost impossible to find. Especially on the shirts to your collarbones without those necks on them. The parents were just as mad as the kids if not madder because they had to go out and buy all new clothes because the dress code pretty much banned everything in the kids closet. That was actually the case. All of my shirts are pretty tasteful but they do have scoop and v necks on them.

Alright. I'm gonna be copying this from the handbook: (I have replaced the name of my school with: [school]) And commenting on sections with how the students do this...

Quote:
Polo Shirts
-Solid color polo style shirts with collar, buttoned placket, short or full length sleeves (no cap sleeves), and free of any non-[school] lettering or logos. Shirts must remain tucked.
-Any solid color

The no-logo thing is really annoying, but if you wear a sweater that covers the logo, it's not a problem.

Quote:
Shirts and Blouses
-Solid color oxford button down shirts or Peter Pan collared blouses free of any non-[school] lettering or logos. Shirts must remain tucked.
-Any solid color
-Undershirts must be white or gray.
-Long sleeved shirts and/or undershirts may not be worn under shirt-sleeved shirts.

Same as the polo thing. And the undershirt thing is for guys, they don't care about that at all. My brother has a rainbow collection of undershirts.

Quote:
Pants
-Solid color cotton, cotton-blend, or finewale corduroy pants (pleated or plain front) that are hemmed and have belt loops.
-Khaki, stone, or navy blue
-Pockets must be void of exterior stitching and zippers. No patch pockets.

Pants are a b***h to deal with. Plus, they have belt loops. Anything with belt loops must have a belt. Unless, of course, you wear a sweater over it. I have worn belts less than 10% of the time I wear pants.

Quote:
Shorts
-Solid color cotton or cotton-blend, knee-length shorts
-Khaki, stone, or navy blue
-May be worn before October 15 and after April 15 or at the discretion of the Division Head

This is mostly a guy thing. The athletic girls wear shorts, but not many other girls. The Oct 15 isn't a problem, but it's way to hot for guys to wear pants and they are usually allowed shorts a few weeks before April 15.

Quote:
Skirts
-Solid color knee-length skirts
-Khaki, stone, or navy blue
-Pleated, A-line, or straight

The style and color is never a problem, but the girls have had to stay behind at several assemblies to discuss proper skirt length. There is even a rule which is rumored to be in the 2009-2010 handbook: "No J-crew skirts." hahaha

Quote:
Jumpers
-Not permitted in the Upper School

As if we would wear those hideous nightmares from Lower School anyway.

Quote:
Sweaters
-Solid color v-neck, crew neck, cardigan, or vest sweaters, free of hoods, zippers, and non-[school] lettering and logos
-Any solid color

No real problem here. We can have fun with this. They're very lenient on this rule as long as it's not a hoodie. I've gotten one teacher to hate me cause I wear hoodies all the time in February and March.

Quote:
Turtlenecks
-Solid color must not be ribbed, mock, or decorative
-Any solid color

Again, no problem here. And there's an unofficial rule that says that if your turtleneck looks like a sweater, you don't have to tuck it in. xD

Quote:
Shoes
-Solid color black, brown, or tan shoes, must cover the entire foot, remaining below the malleolus of the ankle. With the exception of PE, no athletic "style" shoes may be worn during the academic day.
-Sole/heel must not exceed 1.5 inches in height.

1.5 inches my a**. I was wearing 3 inch heels on boots for several weeks and my teachers didn't notice or care.

Quote:
Socks/Tights
-Solid color socks must be worn and visible. Hose are not permitted, although girls may wear tights of the same colors permitted for socks.
-White, navy blue, gray, black, brown, or tan

No major problems here. Guys like to wear high socks for some strange reason and one of my friends owns no white socks, but teachers don't care much about this rule...Also, no one in high school wears knee-socks. Freshman learn that the hard way.

Quote:
Belts
-Belts must be worn with all pants and shorts.

Unless you are wearing a sweater or don't give a s**t about tucked in shirts.

Quote:
Jewelry and Accessories
-Boys and Girls: Are not permitted to have extreme or unnatural hair color or to have visible tattoos or body piercings
-Boys: Are expected to be clean shaven and are not permitted to wear earrings during the academic day or when publicly representing the school
-Girls: Are permitted to wear earrings

The exception to the clean shaven rule has only been allowed for two boys. One was for religious reasons and the other was going to be Tevye in our musical (Fiddler on the Roof) so he was allowed to grow a beard.

Here are some pics: (I'm basically raiding facebook...)
~~~~~~~~~~~~
[The kid in the blue shirt] I don't know why so many people are out of dress code here. It must be a pep-rally or the end of the year. We have a day where you can wear any school-related shirt you want in the week before exams.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Seph!] This is the "no pants" girl I mentioned a few posts ago during Spanish class. Yes, our teacher was so oblivious that I was able to stand up and get that picture during class. (We aren't allowed to have camera's out during class.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Photobucket] We have way too much fun with this thing, but it shows some of what we're wearing. (I'm not in this pic, even though I'm writing "we.")
~~~~~~~~~~~~
[More Photobucket] Jewelry. She wears tons and the school doesn't care.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1]-[2] My friends and I doing "See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil." for Halloween freshman year. (I'm on the left.) If you replace the jeans with khaki pants and take away the monkey tails (which you can only kinda see here) you would have our dress code.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Script Reading] We were doing some stupid play in World History, freshman year, in this pic....
~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1]-[2] I don't know what's going on here...they play-fight all the time. But they are good dress code shots.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1]-[2] Group pics freshman year with me and my friends (I'm on the right in both). We planed our outfits that day, so that's why we're all wearing similar stuff. Again, good dress code shots.

I've been going to this school since kindergarten. I'm so used to it, I can't imagine having to pick out something different to wear everyday. My friends already know my entire wardrobe as it it! How could I wear it every single day!?

I think I would die in your school.

I hate khaki's.

The kids in my school wouldn't survive. Almost all of the guys are growing beards or at least not shaving because they don't feel like it or think it's cool. What about hair? We have a no crazy color rule as well as hairstyles but I knew one girl who could dye her hair an eye popping shade of red and a guy who had a mohawk yet they did nothing to them. I would hate not being able to dress like I want. Pretty much none of my pants have a belt loop on them and I only have a few skirts.

Funny. My Dad is half Mexican, but I don't speak Spanish. Neither does he, since he didn't live with his parents. He even makes fun of the Spanish language/accent sometimes.
My mom says Mexican Spanish sounds like baby talk, but that's because she's Swedish and holds a grudge.
I lived in So-Cal, and I was in a very Hispanic society.
I don't even like Mexican food gonk
Roki, I wouldn't survive in your school. I'm so self conscious, I will wear my jacket year-round in 30 degree Celsius weather with 80% humidity. And I haven't worn a skirt since my grandpa's funeral...fourth grade.

Is Velvet Puppet moving? Where to? (Don't say Texas xd )
