Thinking her choice over his buttons strayed over the selection panel. Looking at each he checked the specs each time looking quiet bored as he randomly pressed grasslands.
"There we go nice grass lands that should be safe", he said to everyone as he boldly walked into the arena. Taking out his sword he quickly uprooted a patch of grass and sat down near the edge.
"So... we starting?", he asked kana.

Kana blinked, watching Tam curiously. She didn't exactly know what he was doing, as she'd definitey never visited an arena before, much less planned to fight or train in one. She watched him finally press a button, and her ears perked as he spoke. "Um, ok," she murmured, staring around at the newly redecorated arena and then watching as he entered. She wanted suddenly to rush forward and roll around it in. Oh, how she loved tall grass!
But she remained standing in place, her eyes roaming over towards Kaze as Tam asked about starting. "Um...?" she repeated again, entirely unsure what the male was planning, or what she was even expected to do. Should she pull out her dagger? But no, she was supposed to be learning wind control, right? She shifted restlessly in place, eyes flicking nervously between each person present. Koichi's apparent anxiousness was rubbing off on her.

[sorry, bad connection >< ...i... didn't mean to put tool... how did... that get there? o.O]
Kazan gently placed Kaze down, to which he just placed his hand over the wound. "Well," he started, his hand starting to glow over the wound, "I know you said you can't control you powers.... but I'd like to see, first, what exactly you can do. Controlled or not, power is something that flows from a person; it's all will," he said calmly, wincing slightly at a sudden jerk in his skin. "You can either... just go ahead and blow all the grass, uproot everything with a tornado... or we can have a little road test by throwing things at you," he grinned, thinking it was funny.

[Bwaha, you definitely said tool though. xD;;]
Kana stepped a bit more into the grass, hovering nervously around the edge, before turning and facing Kaze. She blinked at the two options he gave, not liking either at all. She knew the first was impossible, so if he was serious about the second... She didn't know him at all well enough to know if he was joking or not. She frowned, head tilting as she looked at him for a moment. "I really don't know how to control my powers at all," she admitted. "The only times I've used them, they've just acted on their own." She shifted her weight between feet, looking like she was rocking back and forth. She was half expecting something to be hurled at her, and wanted to be ready to spring out of the way if something was. She wasn't sure if her power would come out for something like that. She remembered the last time she used it, was when a bolt of some kind of energy had been shot at her. She'd slowed it down and gotten out of the way.

[yup. and yes, but no i didn't see the end... i know what happened though xD oh, and stop laughing at me ><'']
"Self confidence, Kana, is the key," Kaze said simply, waving his hand in a flowing stream-type motion. He paused for a moment, his other hand still glowing above the wound. "Each time you used those powers, though, didn't you want something to happen. Didn't you pray, didn't you ask yourself 'what if...?' or 'I wish...' or even somethings like 'Can't this go away,' 'i need to save myself somehow,' or perhaps 'I need help.' Didn't you think one of those in a way; even if you didn't hear yourself think it, you wanted something to happen, right?" he asked softly, calmly, his voice pausing for a moment in between choices. Isn't there someway you can help? he asked Koichi through telepathy, something that can convince her of otherwise? Of her being able to control herself if she puts her mind to it? He knew he wasn't going to get an answer back, but he wanted to get his friend thinking.

[I'm not laughing. >.>;; >3]
Kana watched Kaze steadily, thinking about his words. She'd never thought about it, or paid attention before. After it happened, she didn't think anything except of how lucky she was to have survived, or come out less harmed than she thought she would have. It all happened so fast usually, over in a split second. But, during that split second, what was she thinking? It was hard to decide. I can't die! was probably likely, considering the scolding Karin had given her when she'd fallen into depression that one time and given up on living. Her friend had renewed her will to live, and she didn't want to let her down by dieing to quickly after promising she wouldn't let herself. Now that she thought of it, Karin would probably be very proud that she was finally trying to control her powers. The thought brought a faint smile to Kana's face despite her nervousness. If self confidence was the key, she'd be in a lot of trouble, but she was slowly gaining some.

"What ever it is you're thinking," Kaze started, "is your new motivation. With that in mind, I'll ask you once again to try and show me what you can do, weither you plan on controlling it or not; but remember this, Kana. As long as you want to protect everyone that's here, you have to focus and make that power coming from you to obey you," he said, somewhat lamely although wisely. In truth, he didn't quite know what he was saying, or how to explain it; all he knew was that that was what Kaze had told himself when he was learning to control his powers, as well... although reworded.

[It's ok! My dad plans on making me help him clean out our garage tomorrow. ><;; I wish I had internet in my room. xP]
Kana nodded slowly, and closed her eyes, clasping her hands in front of herself. So Karin's words, the desire to live...? she thought quietly, a frown coming over her face now as she tried to concentrate. She'd never purposely tried bringing out her power before, so it felt extremely odd. In her mind, she pictured where everyone else was in comparison to where she herself was. She would try with all her might not to let the wind go anywhere near them, if she could manage to summon any at all.
She bowed her head slightly as she considered what the best way to do this would be. She couldn't just think 'I want this to work' and have it obey. No, if that was the case it would have happened already. She bit her lip, eyes still closed, and bowed her head a bit more. Not knowing what else to do, she simply pictured the most recent time she'd used her power, and the events leading up to it replayed in her head.
She'd gone up to a male in the courtyard and said a simple 'hello'. The male, in turn, had blasted a bolt of some sort of energy at her. Kana had dropped to a crouching position, instinctively covering her head with her arms.
As she recalled each thing, Kana acted it out again. She probably looked pretty odd, standing there deep in thought and suddenly saying 'Hello' and then throwing herself to the ground with a startled shout, eyes shut all the while. But right after that point, a sudden wave of wind rushed out, a wall moving quickly away from her, to stop the blast she saw coming in her mind. It wasn't very strong though, since part of her knew this wasn't really happening, despite her vivid imagination. It was able to flatten the grass in front of her though, a seemingly solid wall of nothing pressing them all down. It stopped just short of Kaze, since some small part of her mind remained aware of his position. Kana remained crouched, eyes still shut and unknowing of what she'd just done.

Listening to everything he turned Kazed casualy as he asked,"So are you saying that her powers are derived as a self defense mechanism? Sort of an advanced immune system, so to speak?"
If that was true then Kana could probally get her wish of not having to fight everyone. Eyes roaming the field he watched the wind change as she acted seomthing out. Sighing he got up dusting his pants as he drew each of his four swords and thrusted them all into the ground.
"So Kaze, the best results we can get is if she's in a life threatening position correct?", he whispered making sure that Kana couldn't hear them. If it was true the there were certain ways that they could accelerate the training process.

Kaze looked over at Tam, still in the process of healing. He moved his hand to his mouth, covering it as though in thought; all the same, he nodded his head to the question. He watched as his student acted something out, intreged by it all; never had he seen someone take such an approach as she just had. Normally, they would have said plain out 'no, I can't do it,' but this girl seemed totally different. He stayed calm, the wall of wind suddenly rushing at him but disapating as it came close. His hair and clothing just pushed itself until it flowed behind him, but ruffled to a rest at the abrupt stop of wind.
"That was good, Kana," Kaze smiled, wondering if she knew her wind had disappered. "Now, you just have to figure out what it was that sparked that power to be released, causing the chain reaction of it coming at your opponant. Once you've found it, just think of it really hard, and of what you want to happen. Don't worry if it takes you a while; I don't expect you to be perfect or a prodegy at this," he added calmly, knowing she took somethings hard on herself. If he had to, he would tap into her mind and help her that way, although he'd only use it as a last resort in these stages.
Kaze's gaze, however, suddenly shot to Tam as he felt the forcfullness of something being stuck in the ground. "No," he said simply, his eyes still on Tam. "I don't want to refer to such a mesure; she needs to learn step by step. One day, she will be in a life threatening situation and she might not even get out in perfect condition. That's why we need to make sure she knows everything she can before she gets anywhere near that day," he continued on, still in his calm state. Kazan had positioned herself slightly behind and to the far right of Kana, and Koichi to her far left; they were all surrounding her in case anything happened. Kaze shifted his eyes towards Kana, now, who stood a ways away in front of him.

[Sorry, I was helping my dad clean out the garage. >>;;]
Kana remained crouched, only moving after she heard Tam walking. Her ears twitched and she raised her head, slowly pulling her arms away. She stared ahead of herself for a moment, then dropped to her knees. She had just noted the flattened grass, and slowly ran her hand along it before looking up at Kaze, beaming happily, especially after the praise she recieved. Then she nodded and bowed her head slightly. What sparked it...? she repeated mentally to herself, wrinkling her nose without meaning to as she thought it over. It was the desire to live, she finally decided. Because she couldn't break her promise to Karin, the one that she would keep moving ahead.
She glanced up again, seeing him and Tam speaking, but she couldn't make out what they were saying. But, she figured if it was something important, they would be telling her, so she shrugged it off. Then she bowed her head once more, no wrinkling and eyes closing. What am I trying to do exactly? she wondered to herself. When she'd acted out the scene, her goal had been to block the bolt that was headed for her. But, she somewhat doubted she could do that again and imagine it real enough to bring out her power. Now, nothing was harming her and she was sitting in a field of grass, feeiling quite peaceful. She still had that urge to roll around in it, but had pushed it to the back of her mind.
Her hands clapsed together tightly in her lap as she frowned now. What else was she doing this for? She couldn't let all these people down, all trying to help her learn... Kana bowed her head, exhaling slowly. I can do this! But, what am I doing? Ah... She raised her head, glancing around until she set her sights on a patch of the grass. I'll make that move! she decided and then narrowed her eyes in focus yet again. But, she sat there for quite a while without anything happening. Her hands tightened their hold upon each other as she willed it to move, for something to happen. A couple times they swayed slightly, but she wasn't sure if that was her doing or not. But still, the determined expression never wavered, and she didn't even allow herself to blink. She simply stared at the grass, trying to make something happen even though she didn't really know how. But everyone was here, trying to help her, and she refused to give up and let them down.

[don't worry about it!]
Kaze followed her gaze to the grass, watching it with anticipation. He looked back to her, though, seeing almost nothing. "Relax and concentrate on what you want, Kana," he called out to her. "First step is to allow it to flow. Later, we'll add some distractions in, though, so I suggest working on this stage for a long time," he continued, letting her know of his stratagy. Concentrate, he thought to himself, knowing she could do it. "Just picture what you want to happen in your head, or just think about what you want to happen really hard and will yourself to move it, as though you wre there to make the action," he added in a slight softer call.

Kana's ears twitched, catching Kaze's words again. But she didn't look away from the patch of grass she'd targeted. She leaned more towards it, shifting slightly so she looked like she was about to pounce. Concentrate and picture, she repeated to herself, picking out what she thought were key words that Kaze had spoken. Her eyes closed again, as she imagined a small whirlwind enveloping the grass. Then she slowly eased them back open and watched the grass intently, willing it to move. He'd said think about it really hard, so that's what she was doing. Her eyes widened slightly as she saw part of the targeted grass sway, bending low, and then snapping back into place. But she didn't lose her concentration and kept thinking to herself, hands tightening as she clutched at the ground now. The grass began moving a little more quickly, then gradually picked up the pace, until it actually did look like a small whirlwind was encirling it. Kana refused to look away though, or even blink, afraid if she did it'd stop.

Hearing Kaze's response he shrugged and walked over to his swords again sitting directly behind them as he watched kana's training. Sighing he turned to Kaze again.
"Fine we'll do it your way since there's no rush and hopefully never will be.", he mummured quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. This question wasn't directed towards anyone in particular, but rather something he had to get ouy of his system. Watch the grass Kana targeted sway as the wind began to play with it he let out a sight. At least she's progressing well he thought to himself as he continued to watch.

Kaze smild; she was starting to get it. "Good job, Kanna. Now, when you're satisfied with that, try aiming for something bigger. A tornado, if you can, would be the biggest thing you could conjour," he said with a smile on his face. By now, though, his wound was only half way healed; he still had a long way to go before he could get up. "Just remember to concentrate on what you want to happen and to picture it there," he repeated himself, knowing it was a key element that he didn't want her to forget.
Kazan jumped up and down at Kaori's accomplishment; she was progessing fast. "Woot! Go Kaori-chan!" she giggled, forgetting that she wasn't supposed to be distracting her; although, she was going to need that practice anyway, so she thought it didn't matter all too much. She quieted down either way, though, knowing she didn't want to be scolded by Kaze.
