Hitoshi looked up, his stomach hurt from laughing but all of a sudden he froze. he couldn't remember all the jokes that he had been laughing at. all he saw was a familiar looking girl in a dress that stood several feet away. he stood up slowly, still looking at her. their eyes locked. "Katsuko?" he asked.
Katsuko nodded. she started crying. he ran to her and they embraced.
Hitoshi stepped back, "Wait, what are you doing here? I was going to go get you tomorrow." he said.
"I'm so glad i found you first." Katsuko said. "You have to leave, or something. Have you heard about the attack on the palace?" she asked.
Hitoshi froze. "There was an attack?"
Katsuko nodded, "I barely escaped. but Father was killed and some others. You were next in line, you know and they'll be looking for both of us."

Garret continued to watch from the cloak of the shadows. Suspiciously eying Hitoshi to make sure he didn't try anything funny.

"What about mother? she wasn't killed was she?" he asked hopefully.
Katsuko dropped her head. "She left two years after you ran away."
"Well where did she go?" he asked. Katsuko met his eyes and he understood. he fell into a chair, ignoring his friends who began bugging him to introduce the girl to them.
Katsuko placed an arm on his shoulder. "Do you have a room, lets leave this room." she said.
Hitoshi allowed himself to be led away.

Garret followed Katsuko and Hitoshi, while staying in the shadows and remaining quiet so they wouldn't notice him.

Hitoshi pushed a door open and they went in. he collapsed on the bed. "I can't believe that she's gone...." he muttered.

Garret snuck into the room the two went in. He hid in a dark corner in the room without alerting anyone in the room.

Katsuko sat down next to him and held him in his mourning. she sang a lullaby that her mother had always used to sing her asleep.

Garret looked at the torch at the other end of the room. It was the only on in the room that was lit. He took his bow and an arrow, he attached a glass flask of water to his arrow and shot it at the torch. The flask shattered and put the torch out. Making the room pitch black.

Hitoshi snapped out of it when the light was extinguished.
Katsuko glared at one corner where Garret stood. "What are you doing?" she asked him.

Garret moved to a different part of the room and remained silent. Because it was pitch black he could move just about anywhere and not be seen.

"Who are you talking to?" Hitoshi asked his younger sister.
"That guy. the one that-" *almost killed me but then saved me while kidnapping me. oh yeah and he's beaten the snot out of me a few times and we've kissed a couple times but there isn't anything romantic between the two of us.... yeah that'd fly well....* she thought. "that uhh... kidnapped me so that i wouldn't be assassinated....."
"Oh," Hitoshi looked around. "Why is he- why are you hiding?" he asked Garret.
