"He has a tendency to become... very competitive, when in battle. If he sees potential or a threat in his opponent, he'll resort to that technique. He's used it on you, Angeal and myself in the past," Sephiroth explained. A sigh escaped him as his emerald green eyes closed. "When he meets such an opponent, he will go all out. He will do whatever it takes to win."

"Wow...I never knew that Genesis felt like that", said Bella as she tilted her head. "Put why would be do that? To be better than the rest? We are already on the top, we can't go any higher"

"He does as he says; he wants to be a hero. He wants to become stronger so that he can become a new hero. He wants to outdo me, as he's said so many times," Sephiroth remarked.

"Well, doesn't he understand that he is a hero?!? We are all heroes, that why we're here", Bella said as she folded her arms. "I don't know if there is even ranks among ourselves, but we all have our specilaties and that is what makes up 1st Class SOLDIER. I though Genesis, being a smart, literary man, would see that"

"That... is the problem with logic. And pride. Both of which Genesis possesses. You see, while some believe logic to be the most important thing a person can have to make decisions, it's not. A person could make a logical choice, but it could also be a morally objectionable one," Sephiroth explained. He turned his body to face her, his eyes looking downward at her. "Take this situation for example.
"You and your best friend and comrade are heavily wounded in battle and captured by the enemy. The commander of the enemy army gives you a proposition: kill your best friend, join him, and be healed and safe for a time. Or, if you decline, both you and your best friend would die. The logical choice would be for you to kill your best friend, so that only one dies as opposed to two. But the moral choice is to remain loyal to him or her, and die by their side with honor," he explained. A sigh hissed into the air. "Not the most ideal of situations, but it is very real; it happens far too often. It also shows what the difference between a logical choice and moral choice are."

Bella looked up at the silver-haired man and nodded her head. "That very true". Bella looked throught the glass into the imfirmary to see Blaze. "I hope he'll be okay", whispered Bella

"He'll be fine, I'm sure. Genesis, from what I saw, didn't severely damage any vital organs. Blaze is still very lucky though; the broken ribs could have pierced his heart," Sephiroth explained. His attention turned once more to the elevator. "I'm going to fill in the recommendation for Blaze's promotion to Lazard. If you'd like to come with me, you may, or you can stay and watch over Blaze if you so wish."
Blaze's head turned to look at the doctor. "So... how long am I out of commission for?"
"Well, from a surface look at that wound I'd say at least two weeks. However I'll have to perform an x-ray to see if any more damage was done to your body," the medic responded.

"Okay, let's get you shielded so we can take the x-rays," the woman remarked.
The young man grimaced as he felt himself pressed down into the bed by the sleek x-ray machine's scanner. His eyes closed as the lead shielding was placed on his head and legs.
Sephiroth began to walk towards the elevator. As he stepped inside, he pressed the button to take him to the fifty-first floor.

Bella sat on the black leather couch near the window. "You okay?", asked a voice. Bella turned around to see Mod and Zack. "I'm fine, I'm just shocked...thats all", Bella answered

As the image of the x-rays was shown onto a screen the doctor gasped. "This... is worse than I feared."
"I don't like the sound of that," Blaze said from underneath the lead shielding protecting his face.
"Genesis' blow... it damaged your spinal column, and the spinal cord. With the damage you've taken, there's a seventy-percent chance you may never walk again," the doctor solemnly answered.
"Oh that's just wonderful!" the scarlet-maned SOLDIER sarcastically remarked. "And just when I find out I'm going to become a SOLDIER 2nd Class. This timing sucks."

As Bella was talking to Zack and Mod, there was screaming, not a blood-curling scream, mostly rage. "...Blaze", the three said in unison. Bella jumped off the couch and ran to the imfirmary with Mod and Zack walking behind

The doctor looked once more at the x-ray. As she did so, a sigh hissed into the air. "Scratch that. It's eighty-percent." Her emerald eyes fell on the young man, shimmering with sympathy. "I'm sorry."
"Eighty-percent! Are you serious?" Blaze asked, stunned. He felt the lead shielding removed from his face and legs, and the x-ray machine lifted off of his torso. "Besides, what are you sorry for? You didn't do this to me. You didn't cause this injury that has an eighty-percent chance to leave me paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of my life! That was Genesis' doing, not yours."

Bella bursted into the imfirmary and saw Blaze. "Hey are you okay? We heard you freak out all the way from the lounge. Is everything ok?", asked Bella

"Oh everything's fine... except for the fact that Genesis has left me with an eighty-percent chance of being paralyzed from the waist down! I may never walk again because of him," Blaze ranted.
