Rhys nodded. "Gah! How long does it take to collect firewood? Maybe if they'd get back, I'd actually put together the gathering. There's actually this one Light Magic spell I'd been reading about--it's not meant for attacking, but I'd like to try it if I get the chance."

Amelia nodded. "I wish they'd get back soon," she murmured, standing to take her empty mug to the kitchen. "I'm worried about them. Didn't someone mention sending a couple people out to check on them?" Amelia lingered in the room long enough to hear some type of response, then disappeared to the kitchen.

"They have been gone for far too long. If a search party is formed, I would like to join."

"Huh? O-oh... I'm alright. Just worried about someone, that's all." Alihi replied, her gaze never moving from the window.

Amelia came back from the kitchen and flopped down onto the couch. She still wore the jacket she had borrowed, and she fingered the fur lining the sleeves. "We should give them just a little longer... but I think it's not a decision I should make. Ask someone in charge, and that'd probably be Tibarn." Amelia pushed a hair off of her eyelashes.
[[Off to dust, be back soon.]]

Rhys didn't answer. Instead, he was focusing slowly on the ceiling.
In the midst of his studies, he'd come across something that sounded very interesting:
Light and shadow are two sides of the same coin. Because they are of the same coin, neither side is always truth. Both sides, be they holy or dark, can be untruths as well. Illusion plays on the abilities of light and darkness to create, as the name implies, illusions. Beginners can make small objects of light, but really can do little more than supply a light in a dark dungeon. Masters, however, can create unreal doubles of themselves and others, confound with a realistic mirage, or even imbue weapons with light or shadow to make stronger "Spellswords" for a time.
Slowly but surely, as he concentrated, a shimmering garland phased into existence high up along the wall. It was nothing more than a start at decoration, really, and would vanish if one's fingers ran through it.
Otherwise, it didn't look bad for a beginner's handiwork.

((. . . Longpost has been ignored. XD))
Renault moved through the room quietly, choosing a spot next to the door. ". . . If anyone is to go, allow me to go as well," he said quietly. "I have my own reasons for going, and I would like to be out again in any case. We aren't accomplishing anything simply sitting around here."

(Dude, in your long post, did you just get 18 Res? I think you're our Mogall tank now.)
The garland now stretched from one doorway to another, bringing a soft glow to the rest of the room.
"Well," Rhys said as he finished, "We could go, as it is still daylight. However, we ARE still waiting for the firewood group to come back. What do you think, Tibarn? Shall we hold up until the wood-gatherers return?"

"I think we should make sure that they're alright before we start any party."
[[I have to go. I'd prefer it if you didn't start without me, but some things can't be avoided. So you can if you must. I'll be back in 2 hours.]]

Tibarn frowned, stroking his fingers through his hair. "I'll go scout it out first, to see if there's a clear shot," he said after a long moment, and he moved to the rack to put on his coat. As he slid his arms into his sleeves, he added, "I'll come back and tell you guys what I think-- and hopefully I'll be able to see the other group from up there, too. I'll report back in a minute, don't do anything drastic yet."
He tied the coat on and nodded to Rhys, then opened the door and stepped through. A moment later, a hawk's cry pierced the air as Tibarn lifted off and soared over Fefga's house.

Amelia watched Tibarn pull a jacket over his arms, then stepped outside and flew off. She sank into the couch and tilted her head up, gazing idly at the garland stretched across the ceiling. "Really hope they're all right," she murmured. She sat quietly there, just thinking things over.
"The garland is beautiful," she told Rhys absentmindedly, her voice soft from thought. She studied the light arrangement as her mind busied itself with possible reasons why they were being held up -- people arguing, a lack of dry firewood, revenge of the Mauthe Doogs... Hopefully they're okay, she thought.
