Well poo on Ivie, because Nye would be sure that she stayed alive and well even if he had to go to drastic extremes. There would be no dying on this day, dangit!
As Nye waited for their soup to be delivered, he decided to do a little cleaning. A dusting there, pickup here, and he deemed his apartment relatively clean in... five minutes. Dishwashing was the next big task, and just as soon as Nye managed to set the final plate on the drying rack, the doorbell rang and a muffled voice called, 'Delivery!'
Grabbing a towel off the little rack he had above his sink, Nye wiped his hands as he approached the door. With a click, the lock was undone and the door opened to meet a red-headed acne-stained delivery boy. Without letting him say the cost out loud, Nye shoved a 50 at the youth and told him to keep the change.
Slightly giddy from the tip (which was, might I add, about fifteen to twenty dollars), the delivery boy handed over the covered soup containers, which, after closing the door, Nye proceeded to pour into bowls. With a soft clunk the bowls were set on a tray with spoons and a bit of bread, and then delivered to Nye's bedroom.
He had to kick the door open with his foot and set the tray gently on the bed before nudging Ivie gently. "Food's here," he said. "Chicken noodle soup, just for you!"
Ah, cheery as ever. And he had cream of broccoli! Yum!
Gale had helped Arvia through the passageways of the resort, making his way to the lift rather efficiently for carrying a drunk person. He didn't even let her lean against the wall when they got in, not that he could. Before he could even reach the button for the next floor, Arvia had nestled a good portion of her weight on him and slurred out something about him being nice and the next thing he knew...
Well, we all know that Gale's sex drive is completely minimal, but that was something else entirely that he couldn't even bring himself to blame on what little alcohol he had. He felt his hand slip down to her waist and bring her closer, and his body starting to respond to the kiss when he remembered just who he was kissing. Oh boy.
Quickly, Gale's hand went right back up to her shoulders, and he straightened himself to pull away from the kiss as quickly as possible. He wasn't sure if he was seeing red or something, but his hands definitely looked redder than they were during the Michelle incident. Blushing something awful and slightly shaken from that sudden expression of gratitude, Gale pressed the button to their floor. Not knowing what to do with his free hand after that, he nervously put it behind his head.
And though he'd never admit it, had that not been his boss' daughter, he wouldn't have pulled away like that.

Well that was good because if Ivie was to go home by herself today, she probably would have tried something. So she had three failed attempts, she would have just had to tripple the number of sleeping pills she chugged to finally get there. She was off work, no-one would check on her, she'd probably actually manage it this time.
Except we all knew Nye would have none of that. A good thing too.
She'd been dozing when the doorbell rang and she sat up, groggy again. By the time Nye was back in the room she'd sat up and was coddling Lizzy. The puppy was yapping playfully.
"Already? ...Did you order it, Nye? How much?" Obviously Ivie was at least a little better, or getting somewhat decent in her acting because she was right back to worrying about the prices. She let him put it down on her lap without a fuss though, dipping a spoon into it and taking a sip.
"...It's good." She said, suddenly feeling hungry again.
Despite her mind being a somewhat fuzzy jumble, Arvia deffinately felt Gale kissing back and her mind practically crowed with delight. She knew he didn't think she was completely unattractive!
And then he pushed her away. Arvia pouted prettily at her as the elevator jarred to a halt and the door opened with a familiar 'ding'. She let him push her out and towards her room, a tiny smirk adorning her lips. It was only once they reached her room that she sprung, tippy-toeing up to press her lips to Gale's once, leaning heavily on his chest so he couldn't really move away without dropping her. "You liked it."

"Too cheap for you to bother repaying me," he said. That was one lie he had perfected, even though some others definitely still needed a bit of work. He plopped down on the floor by the bed and indulged himself in his soup. He loved all the thick ones, not one for broths of any kind, really. "It's been a while, my wonderful green friends!" he said directly to the bits of broccoli floating about in his bowl.
Of course Nye wouldn't let her do anything stupid! He'd curse himself forever if he failed to preserve her life. And a sad Nye is never a pleasant one, I'll let you in on that. "I'm glad you like it. That soup place happens to be my very favorite."
Expensive taste, huh.
Gale's redness didn't ease up at all, staining his face like grass on his knees. He really did hope she wouldn't remember this in the morning. There was still time to drink himself to amnesia, as well.
With his mind half in the hall and half in the elevator Gale lead Arvia to her room without really thinking about it. It was only when he was about to say goodnight when she kissed him again, and then decided to point out the (unfortunately) obvious. "An' yer drunk."
Having to take a step back from the surprise attack, Gale put his arm back around Arvia's shoulders and reached into his pockets with the other. The key was speedily inserted into the lock, turned, and the door was opened. "G'night," he said as he finally lead her inside. "See you in the morn'."
When Arvia was safe in her room, Gale tucked his key away and went zombie-like to his own lodgings. With only a sigh to fill the silence, he stripped himself of his clothes and simply collapsed into bed in his beater and boxers, curling up under the blankets.
The only sleep he got was more of a daze that was reliving that brief elevator ride. He had the pleasure of tossing and turning in bed through all the stages of the night. The long, the boring, the steady sunrise. Everything seemed to drag, and for some reason, he just couldn't fall asleep to pass it all. Completely restless.
As soon as the first ray of sunlight peered through the crack between his curtains, Gale rolled out of the bed. Sluggishly, he made his way to the bathroom. Turning on the lights was painful, he had to squint away the dark spots dancing in his vision and endure the slight burn, the chill of cold air stinging him after the warmth of hotel blankets. His face showed signs of not sleeping- bags under his bloodshot eyes, half-closed eyelids, sluggish posture.
There may have been a point between three and four in the morning when he didn't remember checking the time, but did he sleep through that? Probably not.
The boy took his time in brushing his teeth and going through any morning routines. Hopefully, hopefully, Arvia did not remember that kiss.

Ivie settled a rather scrutinising stare on Nye for a moment or two, before continuing to sip at her soup. Slowly, carefully and making sure not to drip any on Nye's bedspread. It really was very good, which was a surprise since one wouldn't think there'd be much difference in the quality of chicken and noodle soups, but there really was. You could taste the quality, and Ivie had a feeling Nye wasn't telling her something.
Strangely enough, she didn't argue about it. "You really do know a lot of eating places. You go out that often?" It was a subtle probe. All this talk about him being a cassanova made her nervous. How many girls had he had in this bed? ...Oh ew, she wasn't going to think about that. It was almost enough to stop her eating. Almost.
After she'd been pushed away, Arvia had looked up at Gale with surprisingly clear eyes. "I know." Came the simple reply, but she didn't seem in the least sorry about it. However she was tired so she simply pouted at him a little as he all but shoved her into her room.
And then it was dark, and then? She was asleep. Unlike Gale, Arvia slept like a rock due to the alcahol and it was relatively late when she actually fluttered her eyes open. And groaned. The sun was shining into them and, with her hang-over induced mind, it was damn well bright.
She rolled over onto her stomach, noting dimly that she was clad in her underware due to being too lazy to do more than shrug off her clothes from the day before. Still, it was comfortable she noticed, and she was warm and gods damn her head was hurting and she could do with some coffee.
...Oh gods. She'd kissed Gale. Her eyes shot open, eyeing the sheets in front of her...before she smiled a little. Well didn't she have good taste. She hugged one of her pillows, giggling a little. Gale wouldn't want her to remember, no doubt, so she wouldn't say anything. She'd see what he did when she met up with him and go from there.
For now though, she had a headache.

Nye didn't suspect her probing into his almost casanova-ness, so he only shrugged as he indulged in his delicious soup. "The salon always picks spontaneous food places to order from for lunch, and sometimes I go out and find them."
He seemed to have a habit, that, of course Ivie knew nothing of, to take different girls to the same places. There were only a few "really good spots," you know? So he did get kinda repetitive, but it wasn't always him leaving the girls, and he never recalled two-timing. What, you think Ivie's the only one Anti!Nye showed his face to?
After getting ready for the day, picking out his more comfortable khakis and sweater, the boy plonked down on his already-made bed. With his arms folded on his stomach, he thought that maybe, maybe, he could just... get... some...
As if to spite him, five minutes into his nap, the alarm clock rang right into his ear. He woke up abruptly, sitting up and trying to turn the thing off frantically. He was already disheveled, but the sudden shock of the alarm clock made it worse. More awake than he seemed to ever be, the boy plonked down on the bed with a groan.
It was somewhere around noon that Gale decided it was time to check up on Arvia. Praying that she remembered nothing, he put on his best cheerful face (even if it was slightly red), opened his door, and seemed to just stand in front of Arvia's, at a loss, smiling like a goofball.
The smile faded soon enough, and it took him serious guts to muster up the nerves to even knock. His head plonked onto the doorframe, as if he needed it for support, and his hand just sort of gave the door a soft knock.
If that dinner was awkward, a new word would have to be invented for this.

Well that was nice of them really. The only time the hospital fed her was Christmas and New Years, or when someone was having a birthday and people brought in food. Otherwise? Well you ate at the cafeteria and you had to pay for it, half price, so Ivie very rarely ate there. That would mean paying for it, after all! And we all know how Ivie is with her money.
Well that would explain why the people serving in the places Nye took gave Ivie those knowing looks. They were wondering how long this particular squeeze would last. Of course, Ivie wasn't aware that this is why they were peering at her. No doubt she interepreted it negatively and in a completely different way.
She took a few more sips of her soup, frowning a little to herself. "What are you doing today? Don't let me being here stop you, you know..." Already she was planning to move herself downstairs if she could - not just yet, mind, but perhaps in the afternoon - and no doubt that would wipe her out for the rest of the day. Sigh. She'd forgotten about the after-effects of stupid decisions like this.
Arvia had slept until noon. She really was truely out of it and her dreams, well, they were weird and a little hormone induced as well. Her last boyfriend...well he was around five years ago, and she hadn't touched a man like that since, so it was little wonder that one rather heated kiss with her hot gardener had set the hormones flying. Well whatever, they kept her dozing rather blissful and squishy, even if it was all just a rather heated fantasy.
Of course, said centrepiece of said dream decided it was time to interrupt it. Arvia groaned a little to herself, pulling herself up and rubbing her head a little. Her hair was a mess, the braids messy and limp down her back and she was in her underware.
Well, she wasn't going to answer the door like that. After rummaging around in her suitcase for a minute, the girl tugged a nightgown over her head. It was a large, blue thing with a teddy-bear on the front and the words 'pamper me' underneath that. Quite modest, but still bound to make Gale rather uncomfortable.
The lock was undone and Arvia peeked out. It was obivous she'd had a big night; there were bags under her normally pristine eyes and she looked just that bit dishevelled. Still, not feeling at all self concious, she sent the boy a 100 watt smile.
"Morning Gale. Did you want to come in?" No, she didn't mean it like that.

Fortunately with Nye there as her bank, Ivie wouldn't have to worry about money for much longer. He wasn't frugal (in fact, quite the opposite) and wasn't afraid of going bankrupt (only sometimes).
Of course, he always undertipped the knowing waiters and waitresses. Many people were quite aware of his many lady friends, but were they really aware of everything? No. His 'squeezes' didn't last for a few reasons. He's had a lot happen to his relationships - he just stopped being interested in the girl, or she got too clingy, or she started using him for his money, or he was the 'other man', or there was another man, and sometimes he forgot to take his pills.
Either way, his 'squeezes' didn't last very long. His parents were starting to get mad.
"Nothing, just resting my wrist. I think my doctor's appointment is today, but otherwise. Maybe I'll drag you out to come eat with me or something."
Obviously, Nye would have her near him at all times. Or, at least, most of the time.
Gale yawned once and gave the hallway a good once-over while Arvia got dressed. He didn't budge from leaning his head on the doorframe. The poor boy had his eyes half-closed, just about ready to fall asleep right then and there...
Of course, the world was out to spite him. Arvia had opened the door just then, and Gale almost toppled over. Standing up straight seemed awkward to him, talking was awkward, everything just felt weird, and he wasn't sure that it was because he hadn't slept yet. "Wha'? NO. N- I 'ean, no, thank you, an', uh..." he paused, trying to collect his thoughts and keep his face from turning redder than it already was.
"Uh... brea'fast?"
How civilized.

As if Ivie was going to take advantage of Nye's money. She was very proud of being completely independant and fending for herself; even if she couldn't really afford it, whenever she went out with her friends she always insisted on paying her share, or even treating them all. She just never spent more than she had to on herself. So sitting here in someone else's house having them fuss over her was a very strange, almost uncomfortable feeling for her.
She'd been brought up to look after herself and she'd never had anyone try to prove to her otherwise. What a rotton job she was making of it, too.
"I'm not sure I'll be hungry enough..." Ivie said slowly, looking doubtful. She wasn't sure if she really wanted to face the world today; somehow she felt that everyone she ran into would somehow know what she'd done the night before and scorn her for it. Completely illogical but...the fear was still there.
As Gale stood in her doorway stammering and blushing all over himself, Arvia glanced down at herself to make sure she actually was decent. Yes, she was; the nightgown came down past her knees and she was quite covered, so it obviously wasn't her flashing him or anything. Innnnteresting~
"Are you feeling alright, Gale?" She asked innocently, tilting her head to once side and attempting to not look amused. It was difficult. "Come on, take a seat and I'll just throw on some clothes." She all but tugged him inside before going to her suitcase and tugging out some jeans and other essentials, dissapearing into the bathroom to change since really, she wasn't that bad.

Nye pouted a bit as he continued sipping at his soup. Eating out would have to wait then. And there he was sure that taking her out and letting her have a little fun would lighten up.
Then again, he didn't really know much about suicide attempts. Amnesia, maybe he could understand.
"Ah. I'll bring you something on the way back from the doctor's just in case, then." He was determined to take good care of her. And besides, the couch looked mighty comfortable. He could stay there until she recovered!
Pfah, now he was a stuttering, bumbling fool. Gale looked over the ceiling while Arvia checked herself over, and just as he was about to respond to her wonderful question, he was all but dragged into her room.
Ohboy, oh boy oh boy oh boy. As Arvia vanished into the bathroom, Gale near had a mental breakdown. It hadn't been a day and the room smelled like her- and believe me, he got a good whiff of that last night. That and lots of fruity drinks on her breath.
Which, might I add as his author, tasted kinda nice.
AH BUT HE COULDN'T HAVE THOSE THOUGHTS. Not about Arvia, in any case. That was restricted, off-limits, and completely out of his range. If she wasn't drunk, she'd have never kissed him like that.
Right? Right. Of course. But at least she didn't kiss Terry.

Well Ivie wasn't a hugely outgoing girl in the first place and really, if she was feeling insecure enough to try and kill herself what were the chances of her wanting to go into the outside world? Not high really. There was absolutely nothing about herself that she liked right now so why show her face in public? She might as well crawl into a hole and never come out again.
"You don't have to, I can't pay you back right now." She didn't have any money on her actually, she noticed and then again she really couldn't remember what she had on her when she'd arrived here after all. Too much had happened really.
You know, it was really a surprise that he was going to leave her alone in the house in her condition, but then, Ivie was feeling guilty still and wouldn't try anything
As far as her author knows, anyway.
So the el'Douay family had a particular scent, and Arvia's own unique fragrance was layered on top of that. The household scent was a clean one slightly tinged with cleaning scents, giving the impression of wealth simply because they could afford to have their house professionally cleaned every week.
Arvia's? It was a more homey smell, conditioners and soaps with just a hint of something else, something herby. All her clothes smelt of it too and when she moved in, her smell came with her. It wasn't her fault Gale had gotten such a good wiff of her last night.
Oh wait, yes it was. Hehe~
She'd chosen a pair of fitting jeans, they showed off her butt wonderfully, and a long-sleeved v-neck top, opting for a casual look until they decided what they wanted to do. Her hair, however...she smirked a little. Time to turn it up a little on our poor, awkward farmer.
It took her around ten minutes to finish up. When she emerged from the bathroom half her hair was heaped up into a bun on the back of her head, a style she'd been told looked particularly flattering on her. She'd even slapped on a little bit of makeup; lipgloss, eye-liner and just a little bit of cover-up. If she knew Gale at all, he'd like the subtle stuff.
"You've been standing this whole time?" She asked, leaning against the bathroom door-frame and raising an elegant eyebrow.

Nye didn't trust her to stay alone, believe me. He who smelled of lemons and vanilla at all times would find someone to keep watch even if it made him late for his appointment.
Tim and Allison were his first bets. Ivie actually sorta knew them, and they were great ego-boosting kinds of people.
"When have I ever wanted you to pay me back?" he said defiantly. "Unless... you want me to cook for you?"
Translation: Unless you want me to start a fire in my kitchen again.
Yes. Gale stood for that entire ten minutes. He stood there and fidgeted with his hands, trying to keep his mind in that room instead of other places, like elevators and hallways and stuff. But the smell just enticed his mind to wander to places, like elevators and hallways and stuff.
And of course he stood for that entire ten minutes! Where would he sit? The bed? Goodness no, he had hormones too, you know, and that suitcase would be right in view, and he would think about the things in there and he just really. Didn't. Want. To. Think. Less self control when you're sleepy, you know?
Waiting ten agonizing minutes in his own brain made it kind of a relief to see Arvia. She did look... rather different. More defined? Whichever, it was pretty, and Gale liked it even though it made his face go slightly red again. He didn't see the reason in her doing her hair all pretty or-- was that makeup on her face?
Blah. Either this was creepy coincidence or she remembered and was playing with his mind. Gale subconsciously suspected the latter, but he trusted Arvia to not do that. Oh boy, oh boy.
"Well, uh... yeh?"

When there was a bath in the same house as Ivie and she was alone, I wouldn't trust her either in his position. You just didn't take those chances when it was someone you cared about. Well, as long as he didn't invite Zachary over it was probably going to be alright.
She was placing her tray on the bedside when Nye mentioned his cooking, and she almost dropped the tray. Saving it at the last minute and sliding it further to safety, she sent him an incredilous look. "I don't think we need to go quite there." She wouldn't be...really quite stable to help him clean up this time either. "I can just eat some toast or something..."
There. She settled back into the bed, tugging the covers up to her nose.
Well in Arvia's defence, she hadn't set her room up to be a pit of desire for our poor Gale. It was simply how it had been when she'd woken up, quite literally. The bedsheets were everywhere, the suitcase open and things strewn about, and all in all Gale was lucky she hadn't peeked out of the door clad only in her (rather nice) underware.
Perhaps he was unlucky she hadn't. Being a boy and all.
Also in Arvia's defence it wasn't as if she didn't normally wear makeup. She wore it to University, and slightly heavier stuff when she went out at all, and it was deffinately not the first time Gale had seen her in it. The only reason she wasn't planning to wear it today had been because they wern't going anywhere, Gale's embaressment being the only reason she'd lashed out.
The hair? Well, she was guilty on that one. Her pretty forehead crinkled.
"You make me seem like a bad host, even if it is just my room." She chided lightly, plonking down on her rumpled bed herself and leaning over (v-neck and leaning over? Oh Arvia, are you sure you didn't plan this?) she snagged a pair of heeled boots to slip onto her feet. "Anyway, was there anything you wanted to do today, Gale?"

Nye saw that little tray rescuing episode, somewhat smug about getting that to make her somewhat agreeable. It was between toast and a decent meal, and which do you think Nye would provide? He would spoil Ivie all he wanted, so she still had a lot of attention to endure.
"I know a really good pancake place. I can get you some french toast there."
Nye let his spoon scrape across the bottom of the bowl as he finished his soup, perfectly content with that warm feeling in his throat and in his belly. He felt somewhat unstoppable, and very proud of himself for brushing off last night's events.
Even though he had suffered through repeating dreams of bloody bathtubs, but he sure as hell wouldn't tell Ivie that. "Is there anything you wanted to do today?"
Gale was a boy indeed, and yes, he was thrown into a pit of desire called Arvia's hotel room, but he was doing pretty well in not falling into any sort of temptation. He'd get better about it in time if he could just learn not to think about... it.
Poor thing seemed to find ceilings just fascinating that day. He chose to avoid Arvia's gaze completely, rocking back from his heel to his tippy toes in the most innocent manner he could muster up. It seemed like she didn't remember anything, at least. That was one good thing to this awkward day.
"No' really," he answered plainly. "You?"

Well if Ivie wasn't used to attention she was certainly going to get used to it. Nye had hardly left her alone since 'the incident' (and not the suicide one) and the feeling of companionship wasn't one Ivie was used to. It was...nice, really, having someone to talk to, even if things were a little strainged between them right now.
"You're not going to take no for an answer, are you." She mumbled, not expecting a reply as she closed her eyes, reaching over to scritch Lizzie on the head. "I really am going to turn into a blimp."
In all honesty she thought she'd be dead today and hadn't actually thought about it. The thought of doing anything wasn't particularly first and foremost in her mind; she still felt lazy and lethargic, like she'd been dropped in a vat of syrup and her movements were being slowed down.
"I'm not sure I'm up to much." She continued quietly, carefully side-stepping her way around the topic that both of them were thinking of but neither really wanted to mention. "Do you mind if I just bum around downstairs and watch the TV a while?"
Gale was doing fantastically well in reigning himself in. He wasn't even oggling her, something Arvia noticed as she sat up from doing up her boots. Curious. Perhaps the alcahol had clouded her judgement a little too much last night and he didn't actually like her.
The thought was enough to make her drop the flirtatious act. She hadn't thought of that; it had never been a problem before. Then again she had acted like Michelle would (minus the raping in the corridor), and Gale had made it clear he didn't like Michelle...perhaps she's been too forward and had put him off? Her shoulders dropped.
"I didn't really think about it." she replied honestly. "Perhaps, after breakfast, we could head out to the slopes again and then just rest in the afternoon? I might head down to the spa and you can do whatever you like."

"If you turn into a blimp," Nye said jokingly, "would you mind helping me to London to visit my parents once in a while? The travel expenses do get so tiresome! And a talking, redheaded blimp? Best deal ever."
He hoped his lame jokes would cheer her up at least a little. He could be witty if he wanted, but now did not seem to be the time for his charms. "You can lounge wherever. I keep the remote in here though, 'cause Lizzie's known to misinterpret things for chew toys." Unfortunately, spoiling one's dog does have some minor unpleasant side effects.
"You know, if my wrist gets better soon, can I give your hair a trim?"
Out of all that happened, he chose to let the minor appearance of split ends be the thing to bother him.
Gale wasn't the type to oggle. He wasn't the type to make advances or comments or stare or do any of that stuff. He would throw a compliment once in a while, but really now?
Now, believe me, nothing she had done put him off any. Just made him... awkward and indecisive. Gale wasn't sure if he wanted to just go to his room and attempt passing out, or if he wanted to go eat breakfast, or if he just wanted to curl up under a rock in shame. "'S no' a bad idea," he answered slightly more enthusiastically. Perhaps snowboarding would take his mind off of things not pertaining to snow and staying on his feet.
And Arvia going to the spa was a perfect nap time for him! He would just pass out for a few hours and nothing would be heard of him! Sleep was so good for running away from things.
