I think you were trying to say, "Stop thinking like that!". But you kinda butchered it, I'm sorry to tell you.

First of all, ちくしょ is kind of a weird thing to say. I wouldn't reccomend using it, unless you have a good reason for it I don't know of, in which case you know mroe than me about that.

思い止まるよ is weird for a number of reasons. First of all, the using the root form of the verb to connect verbs is not so used outside of more formal writing. The ~て form would be much more natural. Also, 止まる doesn't work so well, because it is intransitive. I'm fairly sure 止める (やめる) is the more correct verb for this situation. Also, if you're trying to make a "command" type of statement, you can't use the infinitive form of the verb as a command like you do in English (except in English you remove the "to~" part, but anyhow). In Japanese you need to use one of the various forms of command, some of which I bet that you know.

So to take what you've done there and touch it up a bit, I think that 思って止めなさいよ would be more correct.

But if I were to say this, I think the most natural way to express that would be something like「そんなこと思わないで。」, rougly equaling, "Don't think like that!"

I was wondering... if anyone knew any decent Youtube sources for Japanese? I'm already learning with books (including trying to read through a first-grade level book in Japanese, though I have to say I'm embarassingly far from a first-grade level even after three years of self teaching. Ohh, it makes me feel so dumb... >>), CDs, videos (Anpanman ftw!), and video games (really helps me with reading speed), so I'm just looking for a little something extra.

Ummm... I'm trying to think of a way to put this that isn't weird... I just have a lot of trouble remembering words, phrases, grammar rules, and everything, no matter how many times I go over them. Are there any strategies you guys use for remembering things other than repeating them over and over in your head?

I feel kind of dumb for asking that, but I figured I might as well.
