As if it wasnt' hot enough, if I had been human, the coat I was now wearing would've made me sweat to the point of dehydration. Her scent was getting closer. She was almost here. Why was she coming here in the middle of the day? To see Jean-Claude, perhaps? If that was the case, I should stay out of her way... But everyone wants to meet a legend.
I walked to the last row of shops just before the Riverfront limits and waited.

Anita had been lost in her own thoughts until she passed a man wearing a coat and hat in the middle of summer. That was just odd enough to make her stop and look around.

"Hell, what am I doing here?" she asked herself aloud. Her stomach rumbled lightly. Anita had not been down to the Riverfront on anything but business since her and Jean-Claude broke up over a year ago. And for the last year she had been away... on vacation, she said. Except Anita never takes vacations.

She scrutinized the man in coat and hat. A human wouldn't have been wearing such heavy clothes in the summer. A were-creature sure as hell wouldn't, as they normally swealter in the summer with even less on than most humans in this heat. That left the mystery man to more than likely be a vampire. One that by all counts, should be 'sleeping' right now. What would bring a vampire to wake up and dare the sun to fry them to ashes?

She raised an eyebrow at the vampire, in a silent question, as her stomach protested not being fed.

[[We really need a Jean-Claude.... LOL]]

((Meh, we can do without razz ))

Without any form of a warning, I walked up to the legendary vampire executioner and began walking along side her. "Ms. Blake, your reputation preceds you," I said abruptly. "I'm Markus."

[She's walking, not in a car. I'll just assume that you walked up to her. LOL]

"And I wandered into the wrong part of town. What brings a vampire out of thier sleep in the middle of the day?" she asked, looking at him with a serious face. "Because I'm just about to turn around and leave."

((Edited :3))

"Your scent," I said simply, as if that explained everything. Well, it should have... kind of. "Everyone knows who you are, what you did to Valentine, what you smell like. Your scent brings fear to the vampire community." I snorted softly. "Not exactly surprising, as things are. As I said, your reputation is astounding, and a lot of people don't want to... associate with someone who may end up burning the better half of their face with holy water."

Anita snorted. "And just tell me he didn't deserve it." she said with an eyeroll. "The man's a creep. Everyone knows it. And I didn't mean to wander this way. I just lost track of where I was going. And since my lunch hour is nearly over, I should be heading back." she sighed. "And sit there... and wait for a phone that isn't ringing today." she looked down and picked some dirt out of her fingernails. "How is he?" she asked. She didn't have to say a name, just about everyone in the Riverfront would know who /he/ is, if Anita was asking.

I sighed. "It's not a matter of deserving it. It's a matter of everyone being scared shitless of you." I snorted. "Why do you still work for Animators, Inc. anyway? You make enough money killing rabid beasties. And as for Jean-Claude..." I trailed off for a moment, staring at the ground as I walked over it. "Well, I wouldn't really know. I never talk to him. No need to. I don't work for him."

"Not this month." she admitted. "Things have been... slow since I came back from my vacation. And when you take a year long vacation, the bills come back to bite you in the a**." she said. "Well my lunch break is almost over, I had best be heading back." she turned to leave, when she noticed a flier on an electric pole. She pulled it off. "What's this about, I wonder?" she asked herself aloud.

I gazed over her shoulder at the flier. It was the one proclaiming Sam's disappearance.
"Oh, that's... um, nothing," I said. "Everything's alright now." Well, I didn't know that for a fact, but best not to bother Anita with trivial things such as a half-succubus that can very well take care of herself going "missing."

Nevertheless, Anita folded up the flier and put it in the pocket of her dress slacks. "Well, if you see this girl, and she's in trouble, come by the office, or call my cell." she told him, handing him a business card out of her purse. "I'm going to see what I can find out about the person looking for her later. It's been slow anyways, I have the time."

((Actually, Sam may be leaving us crying ))

I took the card gratefuly, but frowned. "She's been found and all," I said. "Thank you for the offer. Just that... she's been found working for Valentine. And now that I think about it.... I haven't seen her in a while." I shrugged. "I don't think she's missing," I said.

Anita visibly frowned. "She's working for that creep?" she asked. "When was the last time you saw her?" Anita knew full well that Valentine had no problem mistreating and holding sentients hostsage in those cages of his. One day, she was going to get a execution order on him. That day couldn't come soon enough as far as she was concerned.

I shrugged. "A day or so ago," I said. "She was just selling tickets... He wasn't doing anything to her. At least.. not that I could see." I shrugged. "Don't worry about her. She's more than capable of taking care of herself."
