((600th post in the Order, wooo! xD)) Rhiu was no were close to deciphering the ancient text on the holy blade. Hours had passed by, and it was close to evening by the time she decided to rest her weary eyes. They were probably bloodshot, she assumed, from staring at the metal and the small text of a book sprawled out in front of her for a extended period of time. Heaving a sigh, she rubbed her eyes with the palms of her hands, pushing her glasses to rest up on the crown of her head.
Her mind had started to wander, like it usually did. Rhiu's emerald orbs stared out at the evening sky and it's myriads of colours-- salmon pink and honeysuckle, with that electric blue mixed together-- it was truly a sight to behold. This bouts of deep though often cause lengthy periods of introspection. This, she was prone to as much as she was day dreaming.
In her opinion, she felt she was more a scholar than a warrior. Deep inside, she knew she was more suited to a quill than she was a heavy sword. It was like she was a contradiction upon herself -- given the title of "Holy Knight" made one assume that yes, they must fight, and live to fight. Born to be a glorious war God, born to be a ruthless, murderous, instrument of war. She did not like it. She did not like being a warrior and wasn't cut out to be one. Though this, she would tell no one.

((Welcome allooutrick, I'm glad to see you posting. I'll add your name to the official roster)) Maluc chuckled to himself as he watched the centaur's apprehension upon first wielding the holy blade. "She acts as if I didn't create it specifically for her." He spoke to himself, realizing only then that his Order members didn't in fact actually know him. Pinching the bridge of his nose he began to think, not knowing quite which way he should go about getting to know them. Shaking it off, he closed his eyes and began to watch those under his command. Seeing Rhiu's mental stress he laughed shortly to himself and snapped his fingers; once the sound had finished it's echo through his room there sat a small piece of paper hanging from a string above Rhiu's translation book. It read: __________________________________________________________________
"Fade to light Night into day With blade in sight Their right to stay
Behind my shield Safe with me Til Foe shall yield I serve for thee" It was a small section of an oath taken by a certain order of knights, rather than have you recite it, I instead inscribed it to your blade. The words were meant for you to take each motion of your sword to hold the meaning of them. Whether you take such hold upon them I leave to you. -Maluc __________________________________________________________________ Stretching back in his phantasmal chair he turned his attention to Mithras, eager to watch his performance in the Colosseum.

((Gah, I think I'm coming down with a cold T.T))
Brynhildr wandered into the Colosseum and saw Maluc there as well. "Ah, and what brings you here?"

((Hope you feel better soon Alundra!))
Mithras feels the strength of his horses, the motion of his chariot, and the determination of his driver. He lines up his sights and arrow with all these factors in mind, and yet....something's missing. He feels it despite the sweat down his forehead and the tension in the air from the roaring masses of computer-generated people. Something that has lingered in the back of his mind decided to make a rude appearance now.
What am I doing this for? Personal glory?....No, of course not.
Two arrows fly straight for his head coming from opposite directions. Mithras ducks and watches them clash then clatter at his feet.
About two months ago a man, an insomniac, had stolen time away from Mithras. Time when he himself needed a consoling voice to put him to sleep. Time he needed comfort from the one person who could dress his wounds and ease his aches. But instead she tended to the insomniac, leaving him alone, his heart wrought with desolation. Day and night, Mithras prayed by the Leo stone and under Hashmal's watchful eye, searching for peace within himself and forgiveness towards a man he's never met.
Truly, I had wished to be a Knight...
Mithras growls at himself and fires his arrow. It misses the archer but nicks the driver in the shoulder. He mentally kicks himself and reaches for another arrow from his quiver. Distracted but quickly made aware by his driver, the second chariot pulls up alongside and the archer jumps at Mithras with a short dagger in hand. Without enough time to react, the archer and Mithras slam into the side of the chariot and tumble out onto the ground.
What am I doing?! Now is not the time to be thinking about this!

With that sound echoing throughout her home, she surely thought that spirits where playing tricks on her. With a harsh return to reality, she clambered off of the ground as fast as she could, dirk in hand as she spun her head around the room.
Then something caught her eye, from the ceiling a piece of white thread traveled down, and she traveled it until the centaur spotted the piece of paper hanging from it. Scrunching up her nose, Rhiu squinted through her glasses, ripping the piece of paper and string off the ceiling with one fluid motion. Her eyes ate up the message on the small slip of paper, some of her questions answered.
"Why didn't he give this to me beforehand?" she wondered out loud. Her hand searched for the blade, her eyes still trained on the paper. The young centaur wanted to compare each letter to their ruin-- she had no obligation to do so, but she was a curious girl.

((We might Squall... but the only guild we have as an official enemy is practically disbanded... or was last I checked. So if we do we're gonna need some new baddies
Also: All Hunter and Black Mage banners are done. Check 'em out, I loooove the Black Mage ones... they're just sooo good. XD, I don't think I'll ever top them.))
Turning to Alundra, Maluc was surprised to notice he'd been spotted he wasn't actually there after all, it was just his astral projection of himself. "I'm curious about Mithras. There is a certain distress in his mind and I'm here to observe it, among other things. And you?" As his sentence finished his astral form faltered through what could most closely be described as static.
As that static echoed through his form at the colosseum, he heard in his mind Rhiu's words. He debated now as to whether he would answer her again. "No, I'll let her figure it out on her own. It's this curiosity that will fuel the realization she needs anyway." As his thoughts finished there he focused again on his astral projection. With his focus he negated the image and placed his real body there, leaving only a slight seam for Alundra to pick up on.

It was a little tough but the daredevil picked up as though it was effortless. "Just wandering around freely. I've noticed I do that a lot lately." She decided to take a seat next to him. "Indeed, something is bothering Mithras. It can be plainly seen on his face as well as in his actions. I've never known him to miss a shot yet."
((MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH! Soon you shall met Alundra, Yami, Kalanaka, Daemon Knightly, Manu Amakua and Lord Mithras IRL Maluc...soon! So close, yet so far!))

((Well most likely I'll be busy with work but we'll see // And Royal Pot o' Gold Bank still owes me gold. They're still working on paying everyone back....))
This wasn't in the parameters of the simulation. Then again, having the settings to be as realistic as possible meant that cheating was perfectly normal in the Colosseum. Anything to keep the masses dazzled. Mithras rolls into a crouch, eyes fixed on his enemy. His opponent looked to be about similar height but had a little more muscle mass.
His ears twitch to the vibrations of the other chariot rushing towards him. Narrowing his eyes at the man on the ground Mithras rushes him, drawing his dirk as he runs. The opponent likewise meets him in a charge, blade drawn and ready. Mithras bends low as he runs, appearing to go for a swipe to the man's side. His opponent reacts in kind by raising his dagger into the air ready to cleave Mithras' head. However, at the last possible moment, Mithras digs his right foot into the ground and with the momentum he built up he drives his left knee into the man's stomach. Light armor could do very little against the blow as the wind is knocked out of his opponent.
Mithras then quickly sidesteps the man and does a tumble, picking up his opponent's bow in the process. He draws, aims, and fires at the passing chariot, the arrow of which sinks into the back of the moving archer's neck. Mithras watches as the dead archer collapses over his charioteer and how the chariot subsequently loses control and topples over in the distance.
The crowds cheer and for a moment his thoughts float their way to the surface again.
I know it's the computer's A.I. at work here, but hey at least it seems like someone cares...

((No Mithras, I will be meeting you too... don't think you can escape that easily. xd OMG I can't wait!!!!))
"As a true riskbreaker should." Maluc said in regards to Alundra's wanderings. Seeing the match end with Mithras victorious, Maluc wasn't surprised at all, it was just a simulation anyway. "Now if you'll excuse me." Maluc said raising to his feet and leaping from the crowd onto the colosseum floor.
"You fight well Mithras, too well for that old crossbow to handle." He said glancing at the nearly broken crossbow that laid in the chariot he was tackled out of. "But that is of course obvious since you fight too well for a Hedge Knight." Reaching behind his back, Maluc tensed his fist causing a bow to materialize in his hand. Holding it forward to Mithras, the silver edges of the center grip of the bow gleamed brightly in the light. "With this bow, I present you with the rank of Rear Guard, the most important position in a tactical assault. Go forth Mithras, and make Hashmal proud."
