"Uhm...."
Kara could be wrong... but she was sure that Ada was father, this being the few if not only thing she managed to pick up after so long. She looked at Beren and then at Elrohir and finally decided that maybe Elrohir was overworked.
Or that Beren did have an uncanny resemblance to Elrohir's father.
"Elrohir, this is Beren," introducing the man, "He was one of the children rescued by the ranch. You remember him right?"

Haradhel looked anxiously at her husband, her brow furrowing with worry.
"Elrohir ... are you all right?" she asked, moving to stand next to him and putting one hand on his shoulder. "Elrohir?"
Elrohir was still staring, though.
"You ... when you were here ... you were the one having those dreams," he murmured.
Beren nodded, looking somewhat disturbed by the man's reaction.
"A shapeshifter," Elrohir pressed.
Beren nodded again.
"A woman," Elrohir said again. "A woman who was a shapeshifter and who you couldn't stop thinking about no matter how little you understood."
Beren nodded once more, just a quick jerk of his head.
Elrohir's gaze remained fixed on the man, but he murmured, "Arwen, go find Aragost ... tell him to call your grandmother back here right away."

"Elrohir... are you suggesting that-"
She had to bite her tongue on that one, even though Beren would know about Serenity if he worked here, not yet. Yet, now that it was mentioned it did sound like... Serenity.
"What is going on?"

"I have no idea," Beren admitted freely as Arwen ran out of the room. "I ... have I done something wrong? If I have I apologize ... tell me what I can do to-"
Elrohir shook his head, cutting him off. "No. You'll understand eventually. Just wait."
He motioned towards the table. "Take a seat. Haradhel, tea, please?"
Haradhel, her eyes filled with confusion and anxiety, moved towards the kitchen.

Kara once more looked between the two men, but deciding it wouldn't be figured out until Serenity arrived she took a seat, and motioned for Beren to take one as well. She hadn't the faintest clue what was going on....

Elrohir passed a hand over his face, then looked curiously at Beren, his eyes still full of disbelief.
"So what have you been up to since you were first here?" he asked.
Beren smiled faintly, nervously. "Well, my parents were dead when I got back, so I was taken in by the swordsmith of the city, and I basically worked with him, learned from him, until I decided to come back here."
Just then, Haradhel returned with a tray of steaming mugs. "I hope this is fine," she murmured, putting a cup on the table next to Kara and moving to Beren.

"Thank you Haradhel," Kara murmured taking the cup and holding it between her hands.
Even though they were in summer, it still felt good to have one's hands warmed up by holding a hot drink.

At that moment the door to the house opened, Lin had come back since if she stayed any later she might forget all together the time. She slipped in, and upon hearing voice in the kitchen popped her head in to see who was already there.
"I'm back......."

"Hello, Lin," Elrohir called out calmly, smiling as if nothing was going on. "Come on in, we're just having a bit of tea before lunch. Come see our newest resident."
Beren craned his neck to try get a better look at the little girl who was poking her head in.
"Ah, I remember you, too!" he exclaimed happily. "Hello again.!"

She stepped into the kicthen making her way towards the adults, though she had to take a good look at the speaker. Lin smiled a bit as she craned her head up to see him.
"Hello!"
The little girl paused thinking about the person she was seeing before her, until she had a feeling she who at least a rough idea of who it was.
"You're not little anymore..."

Beren chuckled. "Thank you," he said warmly. "Though I have to admit ... you haven't grown very much ..."
After twelve years she was only a little bigger than she had been at first.

Lin giggled as she climbed up onto a seat next to Beren so she wouldn't have to look up so much. She didn't mind that he said so, because it was a true and because really she wasn't that old to begin with. (More or less though her age was up to debate with all her visits).
"Well I'm not really that old yet," Lin replied, "I guess no one has told you about where I come from yet."

Beren shook his head sheepishly. "No, I'm afraid not ... and when I was young I didn't pay much attention when you left, I was rather distracted by my dreams ... which Lord Elrohir seems to know all about, somehow."
He raised one eyebrow and looked up at Elrohir, who simply sipped his tea without making any comment at all.

Lin looked between the two men similar to the way her mother had done earlier before. She had no idea what had happened, but it sounded like it did. Though instead of asking (which would have been the usual course of action), she explained to Beren about her home or world.
"Mommy, Daddy and the rest of my family come from a different world," she told him, "It's called Gaia, and every day there is like a month or more here. So really.... it hasn't been that long for me."

Beren turned his gaze back to Lin and smiled, nodding thoughtfully. "I see," he murmured. "That does indeed explain a lot."
Just at that moment, Arwen came running in, her face slightly flushed and panting, out of breath.
"Aragost says she'll be here in a few days!" she exclaimed excitedly, pouncing on her father's back and throwing her arms around his neck.
Elrohir coughed on his tea and just about dropped his cup - but luckily it was almost empty and he got nothing more than a few spatters on his pants.
"Arwen!"
"Sorry, Ada."
