Izumi's head needed to be forced to be cleared completely, something to concentrate on absolutely in order to get back the chakra she'd lost doing the stuff she had been. Sighing, her shoulders slowly eased back, and then down. Her smile was gone and she entranced her mind on someone who kept her concentrated. Her brother! He had always kept her mind sharp when they were together. A small smile entered her face as she thought about every article of clothing he had on as he saw her off on her sea departure. He had his normal ratty shirt on that had seen more falls to the dirt than any other known piece of cloth she'd ever seen. He basically never washed himself so he had dirt on his face all the time as well. With his messy, shaggily cut black hair that seemed to never have even heard of a comb, and his sharp eyes that always seemed to shine, no matter if there was light in the room or not, he was quite a sight. But there were many other boys who looked like him back home. Izumi knew it was the 'norm' but she seemed to enjoy different things. She enjoyed cleaning herself often and making sure her hair was well brushed and she wore clean clothes. Speaking of, she hadn't had a wash in a while...She'd need to find a stream or something to clean herself in soon. The salt from the sea still could be felt in her long hair and ever so often it scratched at her dark colored skin. After a moment or so, she opened her eyes, preparing to see the sight she had when she had first closed them. But...nobody was there...Well, the other female in the room was, but Izumi paid no mind. The girl was silent and wouldn't want to communicate with Izumi anyways. Izumi hopped up onto her feet and hurried on through the door. She could complete what she was doing somewhere else, perhaps she could find a place that was a bit warmer than this room.

Serena held one side of her headband up, wondering what she was going to do with it now. 'Oh, right..this is mine now..where should I put it?' Well, she could always move it later, so for now, the Raiken tied her new headband on the top of her head and adjusted it to her liking. Seeing that there was nothing else to do at the academy, she decided to leave and see what else there was to do before the day was over. A yawn escaped her as she walked down the steps and she closed her eyes and sighed. Maybe she would just go back to the dorms and get a good sleep..she was so tired from the night before..

The genin enter the building, the lighting much dimmer then that outside, the reflection from the snow wasn't able to brighten hings, being so that there wasn't any in the academy. Sorri picked a wall to wait for Shinichi and possibly try to calm himself down...he had no words for this sensei, ANBU, kage. He shook his head then allowed himself to slump down into a siting posture. If Ero hadn't been under his wing, had just done something as simple as picking a different sensei, she would be alive, she would still be here, making each other stronger. All this thinking had been guided to the wrong subject tough, he should be conversating with his squad mate on a possible battle plan against their first enemies as genin. He went into the his weapon pouch and held out a shuriken in front of a window and looked up and the metal just examining it to occupy himself and time.

Before entering the academy, Shinichi stomped his boots on the conveniently placed mat, not wanting to trash the precious place of learning. He peeked his head into the classroom to make sure the room was clear except for those that were supposed to be there. Good, there was only Sorri present. Shinichi ducked back outside and rang the ridiculously annoying academy bell, which he had specifically built for the purpose of getting the students to school as fast as possible. Task finished, Shinichi blew on his frozen fingers and entered the academy again, raising a hand to Sorri as he walked in. "Not into weapons much, eh?" he asked, pointing to the basic weapons that Sorri chose. He knew Serena had her staff so they'd at least get some power in fights from her. Shinichi wasn't aware of how strong at Ibazi jutsu Sorri was, so a fight between the two would be interesting indeed. But that was besides the point, at least for now. "We'll be heading up to the rice farms as soon as Serena gets here. Farmers have locked the beast up in the barn where our job is to kill it. Let me get the students started and then we'll get going." Shinichi picked up a piece of chalk and began scribbling on the board. After a few words, he sighed and looked at Sorri again, remembering the look on the boy's face when he told him of Ero's fate. "Have you gone to see Ero lately?" he asked calmly, "I visited her just the other day."

After brushing off excess snow from her boots and clothes, Serena entered the academy. It was fairly quiet, which she never experienced in her mornings at the academy. She was usually late or a few people had already arrived there early. The only thing that disrupted the silence was the clanging of the bell, which echoed in her head afterwards. The Raiken stepped into the classroom, a bit surprised to see that Shinichi-sensei had already beat her there. Sorri was also there, too. With that, she stood to Sorri's side and faced their teacher, wondering what was going to happen next.

Sorri hadn't taken notice of Shinichi till his second appearance after ringing the bell. Sorri had nearly jumped out his skin and his head band knocked him in his chin, reminding him that that was no longer a call for him, it was all on him to get himself up and get to work, well himself and his squad leader. and then came the red head. Sorri lifted up his head to look Shinichi in his eyes, no mater how he felt Shinichi was an upper force in this world, at least for the moment. So that was the story eh? They lock up some sort of creature and expected for the mess to be cleaned quickly before i made itself bigger. Then Th old man spoke on the unmoving ninja and the still sinless Ibazi kunoichi. Sorri had looked back at the floor "I haven't been at the clinic in days" but Sorri had thought of her everyday just as he did the day he did...maybe, just one day she would be a a door when he opens it. Then the door open and showed a different feminine figure of Sorri's life, much less influential tough. Sorri stood pushed from the wall and to a kneel and stood and walked to Serena's side. "The yeti is locked up in the rice farms...we going to kill it.." His words were toneless, Sorri was still out of it he's mind eternally some where other thing their island.

Shinichi made a disapproving tsking sound, but said nothing more to Sorri. "Don't think this yeti's just going to lay down and die so stay focussed," he said, already heading out. The young man stopped by Serena and merely nodded at her to acknowledge the girl's presence before moving on. It was an unusual team, with only two squad members and as a result, they won't be able to take on hard missions, but this one didn't seem to be too challenging. All they had to do was take down an already confined ice monster. As soon as he saw the bell, however, Shinichi had a second thought. This mission was supposed to be a quick one, but what if his squad was so weak that they took all day to crush an over sized, tick-infested dog? Bah! He swiftly turned around and scribbled some more on the chalkboard, setting things for the students to do. His handwriting was rather formal, more so found in court and on official documents than in a classroom. It was just the way he was raised. "Alright," Shinichi muttered, stepping out into the cold with a deep inhale. Kami-sama, that felt good. "I've already told Sorri this. Farmers locked the yeti up in the barn so all we have to do is kill it. The main barn has a fenced area in the back, which makes a much better fighting field than in the pitch black barn. I'm going to open the back doors up and you two attack as soon as it comes out. It's best to take it down as quickly as possible. Got it?"
[Exit to Rice Farms]
Shinichi has written on the board:
I've heard complaints that it's become too difficult to scale the hills of Shimagakure due to piling snow drifts. So, class has been canceled today so you all can do some actual vigorous, not at all fun work.
Find materials around the village and make a snow maneuvering device to pack the snow down. Hammah-san in the weapons shop should be able to help you put the pieces together. Then, go flatten the hill you climbed on your way to class, south of the village, and at the Rice Farms. If you guys do not finish by the time I return, I'll enroll everyone in Shinichi's Boot Camp for Undesirable Brats. At night. In the snow.
Get to work!

Serena blinked twice. Woud a barn even be able to hold a yeti in? It seemed that such a monster or whatever it was should be able to break out of a simple wooden structure. Shinichi told them that it wouldn't be so bad, though, so maybe it wasn't a strong yeti. Whatever the matter, the Raiken was ready to go and kill the thing and followed Sorri and their leader out of the academy towards the farm. The weird thing was that she had been there just now, but she caught no noise coming from the barn. Maybe it was because she was focusing too much on how cold it was outside..just as it still was now, a fresh breeze of cold air smacked her in the face.

Izuki and Krii were perched on the desk in the classroom, reading from their new book. Izuki, of course, had no idea where it had come from, but she didn't mind. It was an interesting book, and surely the owner was looking for it. She would keep it safe! Krii made her little mongoose noises, and Izuki tucked the book into her lemur sling-bag. No one here...it was boring and quiet for an academy. She sighed, and looked around for more things that people might have misplaced. More books, but people seemed to lose those a lot in this tiny village...hmm....

Kiba had, while keeping a safe distance, slowly followed the strange pair that he had encountered in the village. He really had nothing better to do, well, maybe he actually did, but, anyway, he followed them none the less. The dark eyed Raiken could not recall having seen them before and wondered if they might be new to the village, though it was very possible they had just, thus far, not entered into the young Raiken's little world. The village did seem to get new characters everyday, so the Raiken thought. He had long since given up the hope of getting to know everyone in it. Still, this odd little pair interested him so he watched quietly from behind the door way. Ofcourse, however quiet he might be could not completely negate the fact that a significant portion of his body was exposed in order for him to do his spying...

Kiba kept on watching the odd pair to see if they would do anything intersetsing. It had been a while since they had done anything of note and he was contemplating leaving to find something else to do. He needed to get back to sword training sooner or later after all. The dark eyed Raiken played with a bit of his hair as he though about his options. Still, these two did arrest his interest somehow. It could not hurt to see what they were doing there just a bit longer. Who knows, it might even pay off in the end?

Kiba was quite bored. He had been waiting and watching for what felt like weeks now, and yet nothing particularly interesting had happened. He was twiddling his thumbs now. He stared at them. There was nothing truly remarkable about them. They were just thumbs, a little dirty maybe, but just thumbs. After thoroughly examining these two important fingers he furrowed his brow and wondered why he had wasted so much time thinking about hi thumbs. What a waste of time. Oh well, now that he had realized that all there was left to do was to move on and find a more productive place to be. He really was not sure where he wanted to go, but it could not be any more boring than it was right here, right?

[Winter 5]
Shin walked into the shinobi academy rather early in the morning. He wasn't too sure if there was class today or not. He had lost track of the days from being sick and hadn't stopped by to ask anyone what day it had really been. The Nara knew that he had missed quite a bit of school and hopefully one of the other children had notified the principal, Shinichi, that Shin was out due to illness. However, now that Shin was healthy he should attend the academy, but he had fallen so far behind. He had stopped by the Yamanaka residence to check up on Hanabira, but to also ask for her help in getting him caught back up. Today he was more confident and would try again to speak with her. That's why he already had a note in his hand for Shinichi-sensei. Walking into the empty school house, he tool his folded note with the characters for 'Principal' written on them and left them on the desk.
Dear Shinichi-sensei,
I've been out of school lately due to a sudden illness. I'm sorry I have missed out on class and I understand that I have fallen behind. Please, forgive me. I will be making up for lost time with a senor student who will tutor me and help me catch up with the rest of my class. Yamanaka Hanabira is a close friend of mine and I hope you would approve of her catching me up on our techniques and lesson.
My Apologies -Nara Shinobu
After leaving the note on the desk, the boy walked out of the academy, sad to leave and not be able to participate in class. He didn't want to make a huge fool out of himself due to being behind. Once stepping out into the cold winter snow, Shin was ready to attempt to confront Hanabira again and ask her for her assistance. It would be easier asking Hanabira to help him catch up rather than Shinichi, since the man scared Shin to death! It was the main reason Shinobu chose to leave a note on the desk instead of explaining it to the teacher himself....

Karite walked into the academy and listen to the silence in the place. It was far to quiet for what he was use to in the academy. He hadn't actually spent much time here but when he did he excelled in his capabilities. He had a gut feeling that something was coming he wasn't ready for and he needed to be soon. Walking slow down the hallway he looked inside every room looking for the perfect one. Seeing a empty classroom in the back the boy stepped inside and stood in the middle. It was much warmer in the classroom then it was out in the winter air.
Karite made sure his hair was fixed as best as possible before removing his vest and mesh shirt. Breathing in deeply the boy had a fire in his eyes like never before. The future was now his driving force. Bending down Karite let his legs build up tension like springs. Jumping the boy seemed to have been lacking on the power necessary to fully move his body. Floating in the air the boy soon felt the effects of gravity pull on his body ripping him down to the floor. Rolling on the floor the boy squinted his eyes a little as he tried to catch his breath. Rolling over to his knees the boy looked down at the floor and smiled. It was going to a be a long night if he couldn't finish what he started. He would be ready for the future. No one would stop him on that account.

Karite rested a hand on his leg as he rose from the floor. Breathing in he would need to jump higher if he was going to clear the length of his body. It seemed that he had gained a few pounds since the last time he had done anything like this. Once again the boy began to move his body in the same manner he had done before this time remembering to bring his arms back he jumped again swinging his arms to speed his motion the boy made enough of a rotation to clear his back then the culprit returned. Gravity came and ripped the boy to the ground landing on his shoulder Karite laid on his side and breathed. He was doing something wrong or he wasn't strong enough. Something wasn't working right like it use to. Nothing left to do but keep trying.
