"No, I agree," Elnara nodded. "Besides, Idhril seemed pretty terrified at the thought that we might be going somewhere without her!" She laughed.
"But Storm and Starr ... they'd best stay here," she went on, calm again. "Storm might still be a little weak, if he's even awake, and I don't want him to get sick again. Nako will take care of them, or find someone else who will."

Lore agreed with that, "Hm... yes. Sunstroke would take a bit of time to recover from. I hadn't thought Storm would get it."
He supposed with their dark skin and the fact little seemed to bother them, he hadn't thought they would be acceptable to extreme tempatures.

"To be fair," Elnara reasoned, "none of the children have ever been out in this extreme of heat before. There was no predicting how any of them might have reacted."
She took his hand again and started back towards the castle - she wanted to check on him all of a sudden.
"What about going to see my brother, Gion, at the plantation where I grew up?" she asked Lore as she led him. "Though I think it might be best if we went, just the two of us ... I don't want to risk anyone else getting sunstroke, and that way I could fly us and save us the desert trek ..."

Lore thought about it, and it made sense, while he didn't know if he would suffer sunstroke, he knew he would be burnt to a crisp if he tried a desert trek.
"It can't be helped," he murmured, "But if a trek could be avoided," he looked at her sheepishly, "I'll burn if I try."

Elnara smiled and cupped his jaw with one hand.
"I know," she murmured warmly. "I remember this past summer. That's why I suggested it."
She was past caring what others here thought of her, if they discovered she was a shapeshifter: they had nothing more to do with her, nor she with them. Gion and Nadya both knew, and that they didn't care was what mattered to her.

Elnara smiled warmly and moved her hand from his cheek and slipped it around his side, moving so that she was standing beside him again.
"We should go in," she murmured. "I want to check on Storm ... and we'll need rest before tomorrow."

Lore nodded as he walked along side with Elnara, going back the way they came.
"True..." he nodded in agreement, "It's been quite a full first day."

When they reached the hall where their rooms were located, Elnara brought Lore to the door opposite hers and opened it for him.
"This one is yours," she told him softly, using her magic to light some of the candles around the room. It was identical to hers, but had a different colour theme.
"If you need to wash before going to bed," she added, pointing to a smaller door in one wall, "your bath chamber is there. There should be soap and towels and the like in there already."

"Thank you," Lore murmured looking around a bit before turning back to her to give her, her own light kiss good night.
Which just amounted to a peck on the forehead, just like her own children, just like she had done to him once.
"I'll... see you in the morning then."

Elnara smiled, and she would have returned the kiss on the forehead except that he was far taller than she was and so she couldn't reach, so instead she just kissed him on the cheek.
"Good night," she replied softly, hugging him once before heading back to her own room.

When morning came, Elnara was already awake and dressed. She'd had a bit of difficulty getting used to the enormous bed again, despite the fact that she was still sharing with Idhril, Storm and Starr. She was also a bit nervous about her and Lore's future trip to the city, and about seeing the people who she hadn't seen in such a long time.
Storm, thankfully, was much better than he had been the night before, but he was still a bit cranky and didn't want to get out of bed, so Elnara left him there as she collected Idhril on her shoulder (Starr didn't want to leave Storm's side, understandably) and headed for the door.

The bed belonging to Lin for her stay there was empty, a trail of pillow case rope was tied to the bed post with a pillow under it. Lin had not foreseen she would not be with Nina and told herself next time she would get a rope. Maybe she would ask for more pillow cases she thought as she dragged her new angel bunny plushie with her to the bathroom sleepily.
She did as what was considered nomral, washed herself from head to toe, brushed her hair (without a mirror) and got dressed for the day. Once she was finished, she poked her head out the door, eyeing the guards along the wall before skittering out like it was a daily occurance.
