"You shouldn't consider me the culprit of her pain. I'm simply a watcher." His eyes stayed on Riyo for a moment longer before he looked back at Neko. He paused as the question arose. That answer wouldn't come so easily. Instead, a little rambling seemed appropriate.

"You know." He began and moved to the wall, leaning against it and watching Neko with unphased eyes. "The both of you have much in common.. I'm sure you've realized that... But the person you most remind me of is her Father.." He gave a little chuckle before he continued with his reasoning. "What a selfish man. Hiding his true self from the world around him." His eyes narrowed upon Neko's. "This tragedy wouldn't have been possible without him. Or without the sweet young girl he fell in love with." He began laughing as he spoke. "Delicious, isn't it? That filthy boy impregnating the most undeserving with a monster! When you try to hide things from yourself, when you try to deny the inevitable, things like this happen!"

Neko was rather level headed but this monster seemed to be hitting all the right buttons. A growl escaped his throat as he clenched his teeth fighting the urge to yell at the top of his lungs. What did this beast know of surviving in the real world when hiding what you truly were was the only means of living without fear. To live without the constant threat that someone may kill you for what you are. But more over, the thing that got on Neko’s nerves the most was when this creature…this monster referred to Riyo as if she were the same light as him.

“Don’t refer to Riyo as if she is the same as you. As far as I can tell the only monster in this room is you,” Neko spat. Returning to a calmer demeanor with effort Neko forced a smile on his face. “And how can you speak so lightly of hiding when this is the first time I’ve seen you? You seem to be the one hiding from the world and tormenting this poor girl.” Neko wasn’t sure this man’s motives but from what he was saying it was evident this man had been around Riyo for some time. “If you would do me a favor, I would kindly appreciate it if you’d shove off and take your leave.” Neko’s eyes seemed to be returning to a more normal state, at least normal in his eyes.

The man had to hold back a laugh as Neko tried to stand up for something he didn't even understand. "As far as you can see. But one can hide much more than just their appearance... And I have not hid from anyone." He took a few steps closer to Neko, so that they were face to face. His eyes looking into his. "It is you who opened your eyes and saw me."

The man's calm and amused demeanor never seemed to leave him. It was as if it was permanently glued onto his being. He gave a small sigh and shook his head at Neko. "I suppose, for now, I shall take my leave." Knowing full well that he wouldn't actually be gone. "Just remember that next time we talk again probably won't be under such light circumstances." And with that said, the man seemed to fade out. A cold wind blew through the room, and just like that he was gone.

Riyo shivered as the cold wind brushed past her cheeks. "N.. Nyuuuu..." Her eyes cracked open to see Neko standing next to her bed. She blinked once to make sure she was concious and watched him silently. Something had just happened... But she wasn't sure what.

Neko’s expression did not change as the man approached. He kept his features as constant as possible not allowing this creature to see that he was getting under his skin. “Until we meet again.” Neko smiled giving a slight bow as the man faded from sight. To say the least he was relieved that he was gone.

Looking down at Riyo seeing that she was awake again Neko didn’t know how to ask her about this man. Where should he start, or would it be right to question her? Instead he choose to go back to the table and take a seat figuring that he could save this for another time. Right now he was still too tired to think straight and he hoped the others got back with food soon.

Only two? Hitsu looked at the bracelet curiously. She had to admit, she did like it or she never would have picked it up. Mitsu's question was met with a light shrug, "I dunno, Yuki might get mad if I waste any of the money..." Well, it was really Mitsu's money, and there was quite a bit, but nobody really knew how long they'd be away from home.

"I probably shouldn't, we might not have enough money..." She said, frowning a little. She turned to put it back onto the shelf. Perhaps if they came back through on their way home, she could buy something here.

Momentarily, Kitwana directed his attention to the otter girl. There was no hesitation in his answer, and as far as anyone else was concerned his answer was very convincing. "It will drive away anything from your pesky poltergeist to even something so dangerous as a demon." He smiled, "Are you interested? I have a very nice necklace over here..." He cut himself off, having turned to notice the feline putting the bracelet back. He reached to the shelf and laid a hand over the back of hers. "Come now, it would look fitting on that petite wrist of yours."

He lifted her hand, and plucked the bracelet from underneath with two claws. "Let's try it on, shall we?" He said, gently turning her wrist bottom up and then quickly clasping the piece around her wrist. "See? It's per-" He feigned a shocked expression, not that it was entirely easy to tell with his squinted eyes. "Oh my!" He exclaimed, though even then the volume of his voice had hardly risen above what could be considered normal. "You have such interesting lines, my dear. You must let me offer you a reading..."

at the mention of the word "demon" poke remembered how, earlier that day she had run into that pesy little imp. She had forgotten about the incedent untill then. Looking back to the shiny braceclets she really wondere if something like this would have prevented the attack. Hell, she was half convinced it half attracted more of them cause of it's shiny colours.

At the mention of a reading, poke had to fight the urge to slap herself and drag the two girls out of the shop. Ding her best not to attract any unwanted attention from the shop-keeper, she asked hitsu, "didn't yuki want us back at the taven within the hour?

Stepping closer Mitsu tried to see what the shopkeeper was seeing in Hitsu’s hand. What was so interesting about the lines in her hands? Turning to look at her own palms they looked rather similar but what was so interesting about them? “A reading?” It was obvious Mitsu didn’t understand, she was not accustom to the idea of psychics, palm readers, astrologers and the like. Being cooped up for years kept you from understanding how the superstitions of the world worked. Maybe that was a good thing for her?

When Kitwana had put the jewelry around her wrist, she examined it for a moment before he made his comment about her lines. Lines? She looked up at him, a confused look in her eye. "I'm sorry?" She said, suggesting she either misunderstood or generally didn't grasp his meaning. Certain superstitions she had heard of, palm reading wasn't familiar at all to her. She stared at her hand, assuming that was where the interest laid. He offered, and she finally gave a slow nod. "Okay, I suppose there's no harm in that."

Skye watched curiously as Yuki sat down before him. His brow furrowed with confusion. The man's face looked familiar, but he simply could not place how he knew him. His head tilted slightly to one said as he half replied, "I would be more likely to reply if I knew who you were, sir." Skye slowly leaned forward in his chair, his hand sliding over to the handle of his rapier incase this person wanted to attack him, just in case.
__________

Hanse walked through the crowded streets, pushing people out of his way with his body mass. A random tough guy attempted to stand his ground, until he saw Hanse's jagged grin. Hanse snorted as the man ran off, then continued on his way. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a most unfortunate shop, one that sold fortunes. Strangely, this particular shop held his gaze longer than most of the other shops on the street. His eyes pierced through the window, catching the sight of three young ladies and the shop owner.
Such a horrible little shop with something so very interesting inside, he thought. Hanse's grin didn't change much as he changed directions, heading straight for the door of the shop. He was a little bit taller than most of the common people wondering around outside, so he was sure to stick out from the crowd.

"This way, ladies, if you will." The foxen urged, gesturing with a waving hand toward the beaded curtain that kept the back room from immediate view. He paused behind them as he glanced toward the doorway. With a glimpse of the taller man, Kitwana's ears perked curiously. Well, wasn't this a strange one? That smile of Hanse's, while it should have been intimidating, didn't seem to phase the foxen's own content expression. He did not wait to see if the dragon would enter, as his close proximity to the door confirmed the intention. Best get the ladies out of sight, they might be frightened of him! Or, so he would assume. He lifted one forefinger to the dragon, suggesting he would return shortly. Then, he vanished behind the curtain.

"Have a seat." He directed quietly, nodding his head in the direction of a small round table. Conveniently, it was surrounded by four wooden chairs. He settled down into a chair, and reached out for Hitsuzen's hand. "All I ask, my lady, is that you share with me your name. So that I may properly See your future's path." Half truth, it was. Though, inwardly he would not deny that he'd have slipped in a means to ask for names sooner or later.

Well, that certainly wasn't an answer he'd expected, and for a moment Yuki looked confused as well. "You... You're joking, right?" He started, staring a moment as though expecting the blond to laugh and reveal that he was indeed pulling his leg. The fact that this was not to happen was quickly obvious, and the feline looked a bit irritated that such an incident had so quickly gone forgotten. "A week ago? Another town, another inn? Your dragon threw me through a door? Tried to turn me into Chinese barbecue?" Surely that could refresh one's memory. How often could things like this possibly occur? Damn, and I thought the blond girls were dense...

-----

Hitsu had followed the foxen's gesture without much hesitation, and once instructed she seated herself. She was across the table from him, but the table itself was small enough for her to easily offer her hand to him from where she was. "Hitsuzen." She said immediately, staring intently at her own palm as he took it in his hand to study. "What can you see, just from looking at someone's hand?"
PostPosted: Fri Apr 25, 2008 1:48 pm

Not far behind Hitsu Mitsu followed ducking through the curtain toward the back. She failed to see the fox’s new shop guest before she took a seat, which happened to be right next to the anthro. Curiously she watched him as he studied Hitsu’s hand looking for the future wondering how it worked. Hitsu apparently wondered the same thing as she had asked. Mitsu patiently waited to hear what the fox would say before she would ask one of her own. But this all seemed rather interesting, Mitsu secretly hoped they would all get a chance to have their futures told to them.

“W…What do you think is in your future Poke?” Mitsu asked while she waited her turn. Her own future was so unclear but maybe that was just her. Maybe other people had a firm gasp on what their future held. The world outside the lab she had grown up in was still new and confusing to her but yet strangely familiar like she had seen or heard of some of these things in a dream.

Not having much of a choice, poke had followed mitsu in to the small little room, not bothering to see what had the shop keepers attention to outside. Proably some other customer about to get swindled.

Sitting down next to mitsu, she sighed and watched the man asked for her palm...and then her name. That in itself didn't seem to much to worry about, but you never know with these situations...

"hmm, I'm sure it will be interesting" she said back to mitsu when she asked. In truth she was thinking he would give her something vague and made up on the spot. She really didn't think much of this.
