No, this wasn't right, this couldn't be right. Kinna pulled away from his hand, though the warmth from it had been comforting to her frosty skin. "Please, leave." She stood up and opened the door for him, she was convinced that this magic wasn't real, all magic is just a cruel trick of the mind, and the ones who used it were even more cruel.

He looked at her. "Check your back. You will see I am not lying. You have wings, just like me! We have a mental link! You can see that I am not lying Kinna! I almost died to make sure you were alright! I gave up a portion of my Life force to save you!" Drake stood up and walked closer to her. "Check your back, and then I will leave if you still want me to." Drake dropped the mental barrier he had raised between himself and Kinna. "And reach out with your mind, and you will find mine. I cannot fake anything that is in my mind."

"No! I'm just a human! Nothing special, this is all just a cruel joke that I do not understand! I only met you yesterday, I know nothing about you!" While she was yelling at Drake her hand was creeping up her back, trying to feel for the wings he had told her she had, the thing was, when her hand reached up far enough, she felt them.
Giving no sign she had felt them, she let her hand drop. The only thing she wanted to do now was to get away from Drake, this Inn, this foul magic. Yes, leave this place, this man, come away, the fear will take you away...
Kinna reached her hand up to rub her temples, great, now she was hearing voices. It seemed the more afraid she was, the colder she got, until she was violently shivering.

Drake saw that she was shaking. He wrapped his arms around her, and cast a spell of warmth. "I can read you mind. I know you felt the wings. And I know about the voices. Trust me, and I can make it all go away. I can take you above the clouds and beyond the mountains. Just like you wanted. I... I did not know what you felt for me before this happened. I didn't read your mind for that, but I know how I felt about you since I met you Kinna..." He held her tighter, and wrapped his wings around her as well.

"Is it, is it all real? That you showed me? Was he actually here?" Kinna fell into his embrace, the warmth felt like a godsend, and finally, she was relenting. It was real, how else could she explain the sudden acquiring of wings?

"Yes, he was here. And he tried to take you away." Drake squeezed her tighter. "He ran, and he will never get back here. To you." Drake sighed. "I... think I may be able to reverse what he has done. But... it will be painful. I can take away some of the pain, but not all of it. But... there is a chance it will do nothing. What I have given you... is a curse. I did it to save you, and I thought I would regret it forever. But this ritual may be able to reverse that, and turn you back to human."

"No, you don't have to do anything. What you showed me, you saved me, you were brave, while I was the damsel in distress. I should be honored to have this gift from you." Kinna put an emphasis on the word gift, he seemed so determined that it was a curse, but she could hardly see why it would be bad.
Kinna was finally seeing the big picture, maybe, just maybe, it is only his magic that I should be frightened of. She smiled a little bit and looked up at Drake.

Drake looked at her and smiled. "Now... I have a gift. Another gift." Drake could see that he was wrong about his 'curse'. If it saved Kinna's life, then it was a gift. He stepped back from her and smiled. He waved his hand, and Kinna's clothes started to glow. "It is the same as my armour. I made a few sets of it... and it can change to fit nearly anyone. It will fit you perfectly, and allow you to use your wings without removing your clothes." Drake smiled. The glow faded and Kinna was wearing a set of black armour, identical to Drake's, except it was designed to fit her specifically. "Now... about that flight."

"Oh, Drake!" Kinna ran forward and flung herself into his arms, now she was sure that he had been right about everything, about yesterday. And now she was convinced that she felt more than friendship towards him. "So, can I actually, well, you know, fly, with these wings?" She asked hopefully.

"And more. You... can cast any spell I can, you can do anything I can." Drake smiled. "You can fly, warp. DO anything I can." Drake walked out of the room, with Kinna in his arms. "Now then, let us stretch your wings... you will see how wonderful it is to fly through the sky." They walked out of the front door. "Now then, moving your wings is just like moving your foot, or arm. After a while, it becomes just like breathing. It becomes second nature." Drake let his wings loose, and they folded out between two small slits in his armour. "Just think, and your wings will move."

Kinna was eager to try, she was giddy with happiness, but she was sad for being scared of magic for so long when it really is wonderful. Kinna concentrated on moving her wings out though the armour, she could feel her muscles working, but when she had one wing out, the other was stuck in the armour at an awkward angle. "Owowowowow!" Kinna tried to free it with her hands but she couldn't reach far enough, so she ended up looking like a dog chasing its tail.

Drake chuckled. "Hang on." He walked over to Kinna and pulled her wing out. "There, you'll get the hang of it soon enough." Drake smiled. "Ok, now just try to flap your wings and take off. It shouldn't be hard. Your body should adapt to the changes in balance quite quickly." Drake flapped his wings and took off, hovering a few feet in the air and held out his hands. "Come on then!"

Kinna started flapping awkwardly, she felt like a baby bird learning how to fly. Eventually the flapping became strong and even, and she felt a sudden weightlessness. When she looked down, her toes were about a foot off of the ground. She flapped harder and went up to where Drake was.

"Perfect!" Drake smiled at her. "Now then, follow me!" Drake flew up into the clouds and his, waiting for Kinna to fly up. Let's see how much fun we can. Drake smiled as he merged into the clouds, waiting to ambush Kinna.
