@Magni: Spinal's song definitely fits his undead pirate theme. Warm Place is a very interesting music vid, quite unusual but also quite good.
@Bliss: Ah, Gen 2 is my fav. The remake was excellent.
@Skreemer & Bliss: I will get to The Department tonight.

The "Spinal Choir" consisted of 13 men singing in Swedish in Gothenburg. The choir is pretending to be warriors who are attempting to summon Spinal to aid them in a foreboding battle. Lastly, the "horn" sound you hear over the 'Ready' text is the sound of a Tibetan Kangling, a human leg bone flute.
[Chanting] Kung och furste Krigare Kejsare Härskare
Kropp av ben Inget hjärta Döpt i blod Själlös, livlös
Ond Demon Folkets hjälte Hemlös Gud Vilar här
[Sung]
SPI-NAL! RISE! LICH! KING! SPINAL! SPINAL! SPINAL! SPI-NAL!
~~~~~~~~~TRANSLATION~~~~~~~~~~~~
King and Furste Warrior Emperor Regent
Body of bone No heart Baptised in blood Soulless, lifeless
Evil Demon Hero of the people Homeless God Rests here
[sung]
The forest is talking, cattle on the run The enemy is burning our grounds Rattle with weapons and beating their shields Ready to slay us now
We pray to you Spinal, leave your body Become our chief, take up arms Give us our strength at this battle Wake, wake, powerful God
Darkness is falling over our land The winds are howling, the ground is trembling The enemy is gathering around our kingdom, ready to subjugate us Warriors gather by holy grave Summoning spinal, the Warrior God Help we are in need of at this time Bless us, bless us, mighty God
Flay! Flay! Flay!
We eat mushrooms for power and intoxication Bringing out axes, chainmail, helmets With the God Spinal’s powers and courage Victory, victory, the victory is ours
The Kingdom is screaming for our help Spinal awakes, leaves the grave With (a) powerful shriek he gathers troops Ready to fight for us now
SPI-NAL! RISE! LICH! KING! SPINAL! SPINAL! SPINAL! SPI-NAL!
@Magni: Ah, I see. It's always nice when a foreign language song is real (as in, not like the fake latin in many songs) and has legitimate meaning.
@Bliss: Glad you like Oregon so much and are there now!
Yoder @Magni: Ah, I see. It's always nice when a foreign language song is real (as in, not like the fake latin in many songs) and has legitimate meaning. One of my favorite pieces is Rachmaninoff's All Night Vigil. It's a 14 movement piece of music that spans about an hour and twenty minutes. Liturgically; it would be the Vespers Mass when translated to English - but yah - its written and sung in Church Slavonic, a Capella (without accompaniment), and is absolutely chilling and beautiful smile https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oh4UTdyansM
Classical music gets such a bad rap usually. Which is sad. I love it, it is my favorite music to drive to the airport to. (I do that surprisingly often). It is beautiful, calming yet energetic (so, centering?).
Oh, in what circles does Classical get a bad rap? I know it gets ignored by most people, but I've almost never heard somebody say something objectively negative about the genre (I believe it is one of the best genres of music and love it to death).
Haven't decided which yet.
In the interests of not inciting anger I'll keep my views on classical music quiet.
CT is the state I love, which is why I'm staying. OH wouldn't be so bad, though.
You can speak freely Skreemer. Opinions that might disagree w/ the consensus are still worth mentioning. It's not like this is a Classical Music Appreciation guild or anything. xd
