Most mecha are pretty depressing. And Rahxephon was taking too long to torrent,

I'm glad you're getting to know some people better.
I don't blame you, Magni, you've been through a ton.
But aren't Trowa and Ivellias different users? Trowa was the one I remember passing away a while ago, but I thought Ivellias was somebody else. Wait, did he have 2 accounts, and I never realized? Perhaps I'm just very confused. sad
While Gundam is generally very good, exposure to other mecha can be a very good thing (I recommend Star Driver). RahXephon was excellent (I can PM you good sites for anime if you'd like). I very much prefer it to Eva.

That could be useful. I'm generally more of a real robot mecha fan, so I enjoy the hybridisation of the two in Evangelion. I've also got both the 80s and 2000s Guyver series to get through. I'm currently wondering where Electric Kool Aid, Disturbing Tale Teller, Tana and HephaustOS are.

Ah, okay, knowing you prefer that side of the genre can help w/ recommendations, as Star Driver is very much on the Giant Robot side of the mecha genre. I'll compile a PM for you later tonight.
I wouldn't recommend the 2000s Guyver series unless you're a big fan of the franchise (arguably being a big fan of the franchise could make that series worse depending on your perspective).
DTT and EKA drop by every once in a while, Tana goes on hiatus for long bouts of time, and I have no idea w/ Heph.
EDIT: Sorry, unexpectedly busy IRL today, so no intro post in The Department tonight. I'll try to get it tomorrow or Saturday at the _very_ latest.

I personally loved the Guyver series, but believe I have only seen the older version. Not sure if I had seen the newer . . . and as for EVA, I describe it as equal parts Bible, Big Robot anime, and Freudian psychology in a blender and set to puree.
