[ Kyle ; ¿ Seymour ? : Station of Awakening ]

{ Cue Choice }
{ Dismiss ~ Birth By Sleep } { Twilight ~ Final Fantasy X }

Kyle's chest heaved as he stood, legs spread wide to brace him against gravity and his own tiring state. Golden white flames licked at his flesh as if to sooth injuries he didn't physically have. The spears still spun lazily at his sides, his clothing still monochrome in the firelight, his eyes scanning the station for signs he knew would be there.

Predictably, the guado mage slowly rose from the station floor, the veins of his forehead casting an eerie shine from the fire's reflection. At first only getting to his knees, he steadily rose to his feet, gaze always locked with Kyle's, one glare facing another, brown into blue.

"So, about my hope and existence ending," Kyle taunted, sneering. "Think you may have oversold yourself. You know, since I'm still here. Existing."

The guado said nothing, eyes burning with enough hatred to counter the white golden glow surrounding him. The flames seemed to distort his visage, like the haze rising from a bonfire.

"Not so big on the words now? Color me shocked," he scoffed, lips still curled. "For a dead guy, I always wondered where you kept all that air, so I can't say I'm disappointed--"

"Are you quite through?"

Kyle tensed, his jaw clenching as Seymour's voice seemed to mix with another, one older, gruffer in progressed age. It finally clicked that his visage wasn't distorted because of the fire--his form was being shadowed by another, the details lost in the blur of illusion. All he could make out was that the form was thinner, cloaked in black and red, with skin much tanner than Seymour's pale guado flesh--it all seemed so familiar, yanking at an old memory.

And then Seymour's eyes flashed gold, so vivid and cold, like a Heartless and yet so much more, so piercing, ancient--

"Ah, do I have your attention now, boy?"

"Xehanort," Kyle stated, his memory finally clicking--the secret movie, the talk of fiends and hosts. "Or, I guess, Sey-hanort, right?"

"Your wit serves you well," the two-voiced man before him said, the flames around him slowly weakening, dropping, smoldering. "But alas, it is wasted. No matter--it will serve me better."

"Tch, and they call me stubborn," Kyle said, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. "I've already beat you once, what more could you possibly--"

Darkness flared around Seymour's right hand, and in his grip appeared a Keyblade, at once befitting both Xehanort and Seymour, with its dark twists combined with touches of Spiran symbolism, and the likenesses of Anima and the parasitic Yevon.

"--right. My mouth," he grimaced, the spears at his side beginning to spin faster, stirring up the fires of Light that burned everywhere across his station save around Seymour.

"Fear not, young man, your shame won't last much longer." Seymour smirked, and though Kyle could only see the guado and the wisps surrounding him, he felt the second sneer. "Though I cannot promise the same for the agony you will soon suffer."

[ Sora ; Dawn : Core ]

[[ Be sure to see the bottom of the last page! ]]

Before the Keyblade could finish channeling the light at its end, the entire chasm surrounding them began to quake, and a powerful shockwave of darkness pulsed out from the seal--so powerful that, not only was the group forced to brace themselves or be flung back a few meters in the air, but the formed keyhole completely dissipated. The Spiran seal's glow grew brighter, colder, and blinding--

--until it shattered entirely with a mighty infernal screech.

When their senses returned, a demonic monstrosity awaited them, protruding from a massive dark corridor where the seal had been--and even then they could see this was not the whole of its body. Perhaps more frightening, the malevolent entity's head was as big as the fighter's themselves.

{ Cue : Battle at the Core -- Battle Themes }
{ Dread of Night - Dream Drop Distance } { Contest of Aeons - Final Fantasy X }

As it unleashed another blackborn wail, Sora readied his Keyblade, and Dawn got into position farther back, already applying Haste to her allies.

[[ Reference for Anima's size, note the bottom half. ]]

[[ Blackborn Wail : 10 MS

Also, feel free to type up "Previously" portions for your posts, explaining how you reacted to the previous scenes. The only reason I didn't hold off on starting this was to help move along--past interaction is still welcome. ]]

[Joe: Core]

The male sighed once everything seemed to go back to normal, being able to see everyone again. A small part of him...had been curious at one point. Curious to know how much consciousness the Fayth had once they became so. Apparently, at least in this instance...it made Joe's heart heavy. Especially cause he...didn't know if there was a way to save Seymour or Anima from the darkness, at this point. It'd be nice if they could but...based on previous information, Seymour was...

Joe shook his head. That wasn't something to dwell on now, not when there wasn't anything in his power to do. It was apparently up to Sora, if the keyblade and keyhole meant anything. The monk crossed his arms, 'standing' there thanks to his posture and the wings. He watched, waited...

The wail dragged him out of his pose, suddenly battle ready and staff out. "Damn!" He swore aloud as the creature appeared...and Joe was pretty sure he knew what it was.

Dawn already started prepping them, his body moving faster than normal with the magic of her dance. Good, good.

"Kyla! Shore up defenses!" Right now they'd need the added protection, he figured. He then called on some wind, swirling his hand in front of himself and strengthening his natural wind barrier with a call of "Levantera!" The wind got stronger, becoming sharp(literally) to Joe's enemies in melee range, and the fighter charged, zipping through the air like shooting star as his bo lit up, shining with light(holy hammer) as he lashed out at Anima while trying to stay clear of her arms.

((EDIT: gonna try to start bolding my speech to let it stand out more, hopefully it'll work for the better))

[[Louis? : Core : In Kyla's Head]]

Just around the time that Sora drifted off by himself and the others were walled off from him, there was a glimmer of light next to Kyla that only she could perceive. With a flicker it expanded outward like flames eating away at an ink black tapestry, "You called?" the flames burnt into the shape of a boy who took form within the gap and eventually floated next to Kyla, suspended in the abyss like a ghost. She'd recognize him as the Louis from her dreams, but he had changed dramatically. The normal boy from before, was now covered in short, flame-esk fur, flowing in a phantom wind, its shade shifting along the spectrum of flame(dark orange, green, to blue). At the center of his forehead was a small multicolored jewel, like a polished opal.

As the scene played itself out and Sora continued to plead with the woman, Louis simply floated there listening, his eyes welling up with pity as he bit the inside of his lip and furrowed his eyebrows, "We have to help her..." he whined, "Isn't there something... anything we can do?"

At that moment, the monster appeared. Its very presence dimming the boy's light to a mere match by comparison. He flickered around to right above Kyla's shoulder appearing as a small sprite-sized version of himself, "I'm here for you Kyla, don't give up."

[Kyla: Disney: Void Drop]

~Previously~

As things got darker Kyla felt her courage tremble- she didn’t like the dark. She down right hated it sometimes despite what joys she treasured because of it. Moonlight, starlight were some of its blessings- but here… this was the kind of darkness she feared. All consuming- endless, a pitch void that made even her own body disappear.

When she called out, reached for Sora she saw nothing of her body and her voice was gone- everyone else besides Sora and this own were left.

I don’t like this! What’s happening? What happened? The dark- I hate the dark- let me go!

What had happened to her body?

Did she accidentally dissolve into nothing?!! It wasn’t impossible- and life was cruel, in a split second everything could go wrong. Seymours mother was a perfect example.
Let me go!- someone! Help! Get me out of this! Tyue? Carbuncle!? Anybody!!!

“you called?”

Before her mind could begin to truly panic someone else was there besides Sora and this woman- and he acknowledge her presence. This light was familiar and warm, and as it transformed she could almost swear she could feel it on her skin though she couldn’t see her form.

Louis!? She wasn’t like the one form before, he had changed a lot. He was more lively, brighter- and …a flaming furry? No- wait! This color, a jewel on his head? What was this? He looked like Louis and Carbuncle combined. What had happened? She tried to talk to him but again- no voice.

She had no choice but to watch the scene unfold before her.

Listening to Seymours past brought back memories: Always alone. Born of two worlds- but unable to fit within either. Was growing up hard for him? Did people hurt him?

Kyla listened to a story she already knew, but hearing ti again brought the guados motivations to the forefront again which she had nearly forgotten. It did not excuse him though-

Just then a thought occurred to her. In this space- inside Kyle, was the ehart of Seymour, his spirit haunting him thorugh the power fo the seal- and through that, there lay the heart of Seymours mother- the true form of his Aeon.

His summon.

His summon.
A summon born from… a loved one.

She looked slowly to Louis.
… could it be..?

Despite what Sora did to try and rekindle the poor woman’s hope she too seemed too far gone, her despair was so thick and she was drawn back into he darkness, a fate that chilled Kyla to her core- and when it was over, and they were back at Sora’s side-Louis voiced what she felt though none else heard it.

“That poor poor woman.” She hugged herself, feeling so vulnerable and cold somehow in the darkness around them. Making Loui’s presence all that more obvious to her. When the seal appeared like a strange new horizon in the void she knew it was finally time to face the real enemy.

Sora made to use his keyblade when suddenly everything began to shake. The seal shattered the hole gone- and ..Anima appeared once more, terrifying and massive!

Kyla was flung back but regained herself- it was time to fight! At least there was something now, not just an endless darkness. In comparison to what she had seen before- this wasn’t that bad. Joe gave the order and thanks to Dawn’s Haste she was able to cast Warding Lotus on nearly all her allies by the time Joe began the charge! she felt the spritely form of Louis come to her side and said something she could swear Carbuncle would have done.

"I'm here for you Kyla, don't give up."

“..thank you.” She said even though she knew no one else could see him by now.

{James : Core}

Previously-
It wasn't much longer that they flew, Sora continuing to chat with Kyla until suddenly what little light they had had in the corridor was lost, surrounding them in pure darkness, only their flaming auras remained before they they to disappeared leaving the corsair feeling chilled, but it wasn't unbearable, though it wasn't pleasant either

Then she appeared and Sora flew towards her. The corsair tried to follow him, to call out to him as he had figured the others would as well only to find that he couldn't, in this darkness it was as if he didn't exist, and nor did the others. Even with his strong sight he couldn't see the others, couldn't hear them either. They were forced to watch as Sora approached the fayth of Anima, Seymour's mother. A fact that the corsair knew all too well though of course Sora had not, solely because the corsair had forgot to mention it when he brought her up. James listened to Anima's story as she explained what had become of Seymour in this universe, slightly different than in FFX but still more than less the same. Sora wanted to save her, of course he did, that much had never changed about the keyblade wielder. The corsair felt nothing but pity for her, all she wanted was to save her son, ultimately what any mother would want. She needed their help and the corsair knew it would not be easy, if not impossible with what Seymour had become now.

As she reached out for Sora the darkness began to take it's hold of her, reaching out for Sora and before anything else could be done she was devoured by it. Her last words echoing though the corsair's ears, if he wasn't formless, his fists would have been clenched.

Then they were back beside Sora, whole once again nothing but the silence and darkness all around them as the seal, their goal had appeared Sora raised his keyblade, preparing to seal it for good...

Then the chasm shook and a blast the likes of which the corsair could not have prepared for assaulted them, the corsair did what he could to brace himself and the keyhole was gone, the darkness that surrounded them became harsher, feeling more oppressive as the seal grew until it shattered and with an infernal screech, one the corsair had never forgotten, Anima appeared. Not all of it's monstrous form though, only the true head the rest of the creature was likely obscured by the darkness. Hopefully they wouldn't have to deal with it as well.

Another dark wall came at them, the corsair braced himself again just as Dawn began to dance, granting him haste for faster movement and Kyla in response to Joe's call cast the Warding Lotus on them.

"Right then! Allons-y!" The corsair yelled as he flew back a bit more, his hexagun raised as he unleashed a Purifying Helix at Anima's head.

[ Sora ; Dawn : Core ]

{ Battle at the Core -- Battle Themes }
{ Dread of Night - Dream Drop Distance } { Contest of Aeons - Final Fantasy X }

Sora took his cue from Joe, casting his own Aerora spell to create a similar effect before rushing up and forward, attempting to unleash an Light-imbued Ars Arcanum combo on Anima's head.

With the Haste, as well as Kyla's shields, Dawn immediately began to switch up her dance steps, at first casting Bravery and then switching over to cast Faith--which not only bolstered everyone's attacks, but also further increased their defenses, as well.

Anima roared in fury as she was struck repeatedly, first by the volley of physical strikes, then by the dazzling triple-shot of light energy. In her rage, her bestial eyes suddenly glimmered, widened, and the unleashed the Pain attack, an immediately-striking pulse of powerful darkness that first sent Sora backward in pain before doing the exact same to Joe. With every assault, her head slightly recoiled and she blinked before turning her enraged gaze toward the next target.

Spotting this, Noelle called out to Dawn--and forced a large chunk of her remaining stone to disintegrate into a fine sand. As she did, Dawn spun and twirled, stirring up a storm of wind that blew the dust directly into Anima's eyes. Scratching and searing, the sandstorm clung to the aeon's face, forcing its eyes to remain shut--and thus preventing anymore Pain blasts for the time being.

Shortly after, Noelle cast Cura on Sora and Joe, the green aura of flower petals cleansing the damage done and allowing them to continue their assault.

In response to the blinding, Anima let loose a petrifying wail*, venting her frustration through dark magic that sent chills down their spines.

[[ Right now, you have Haste (1.5x AS and OS), Warding Lotus (+4 to PR and MR), Bravery (1.5x PS and PR), and Faith (1.5x MS and MR).

Don't forget that Bravery/Faith are calculated after additions like Warding Lotus. With that in mind...

* - Double your total Magic Resistance and generate a number 1 through the result--aka generate 1-(2xMR).

If your result is 10 or lower, you are Stunned. As a result, if you have Action Speed of 9 or lower, you will be Stunned for a whole post. If you have an AS of 10 or higher, you will be Stunned for the first half of your post.

However, if your result is 4 or lower, then instead of being Stunned, you are inflicted with Paralyzed. If hit this way, then for a full post (regardless of AS), your body and mind are instinctively locked up, making you unable to move or act in any way for the entire duration. ]]

[Joe: Core]

Joe couldn't help but recoil from the attack from Anima's eye, but he kept trying to push more and more into attacking the Aeon. He was a front-line man, he needed to keep up the assault and keep the ones behind him safe. Much easier to do when the eye got clouded up by the sand. Though with the wail...

The monk froze, body suddenly going into a slow spiral down as his mind and body seemed to shut off, the wail flicking an off switch...or at least it felt like that. Nothing seemed to be responding, body or mind, to the danger he was suddenly in as he drifted downward...or as down as one could in this arena.

{Yuffie .:. Disney Castle Town .:. Fair Grounds}

As the others went their separate ways, the Great Ninja Yuffie put her hands behind her head and heaved a gusty, dramatic sigh.

"Well that was fun," she said, glancing around at the crowds and fairgrounds. "But now I'm bored." She pouted heavily for a moment before she spotted a familiar head of spiky blonde hair. She walked over to Cloud, mischief in her every move, and poked him hard in the shoulder.

"You. Entertain me."

[ Cloud : Disney : Fair Grounds ]

Cloud had been mostly lost in his own thoughts since the end of the ceremony, looking down at the charm he'd been given. Hero? It'd been so long since he'd thought he could have such a title--back before the first fall.

His mood had improved the past couple years, but his outlook, not so much.

When Yuffie came along and snapped him out of his thoughts, he looked toward the girl, and briefly wondered where Aerith and Tifa had gone off to--probably lost in the crowd. He'd see them eventually, to be sure. Something about this town...

"Want ice cream?" he asked, and though his voice sounded as dead as ever, the corner of his mouth seemed to twitch upward, if only for a moment, before he turned away and headed for one of the large booths. "Pretty sure kids aren't supposed to have dessert before dinner, but I figure you've been... decent lately."

The Cornerstone, they'd called it. Yeah. He'd blame that.

"Hey, I'm not a kid!" Yuffie protested immediately, almost without thinking. But after a brief—very brief—pause, she grinned and said, "But sure, ice cream sounds good."

[ Cloud : Disney : Fairgrounds ]

Cloud rolled his eyes at her protest as they strolled up to the worlds-famous Disney ice cream booth--or one of many on the fairgrounds, anyway.

"So, how'd it go down there, anyway?" he asked, remembering her avoidance of the ships due to her motion sickness. As she responded, he quietly ordered a simple seasalt popsicle. Scrooge had made him try one, and he hadn't really felt the need to stray ever since. He let her order her own, but paid for both. "In Atlantica, I mean."

{James : Core}

James watched as Anima was assaulted with all of their different attacks and responded by unleashing the all too familiar Pain attack. He remembered really not liking that attack in Final Fantasy X, the sheer power that the summon displayed in it's first appearance, obliterating fiends like they were nothing. It made sense that the lower half they were fighting would be able to use that attack as well. The corsair was very thankful that Dawn and Noelle were able to put a stop to the onslaught of attacks by blinding it.

Then Anime unleashed an unbearable wail that caused the corsair to tense up as a chill went down his spine and he shook his head slightly as if trying to shake it out of his head. It seemed for the corsair though that that was the worst of what he would experience, unlike Joe who seemed to have lost all control of himself as he spiraled downward until he hit what had to be a bottom of some kind of the arena.

"Joe! You alright!?" he yelled down, not sure if he should be expecting a response of any kind or not.

Joe being down meant that their front line was weak, and while James wasn't the greatest at it, he felt like he was the best to take the position until Joe recovered. He charged energy into left hand, his fingers curling like claws as they began to glow. He quickly got into position in front of Dawn, Noelle, and Kyla distance wise from Anima.

"Wolf Fang Fist!" the corsair yelled, swiping his left hand three times, unleashing 3 claws of energy per swipe which spun right at the summon.

[[Louis? : Core : Inside Kyla]]

Flashes and glimmers of light made the fight both blinding and a spectacle to behold. The monstrosity fought back with a subdued vehemence. The sprite zipped around Kyla drawing fading lines of fire in the air. As the wailing commenced, he winced, getting blown back into the pocket of Kyla's shoulder. He shivered, holding his arms and curling into a ball, his flames dimming further till he was a dull, rusty red. As his luminescence waned, he whispered, "So much pain... so much sorrow.. how do you live like this?"

The boy perked up, as though suddenly remembering something important, his fire returning to its previous hue. He scanned the battlefield with his eyes after the wave of screaming had passed. His expression showed a level of desperation and fear as he looked back to his friend, "Kyla, something's wrong! I think that guy's in trouble!" The small boy whipped through the air aggressively pointing to Joe.

{Yuffie .:. Disney Castle Town .:. Fairgrounds}

Yuffie happily picked out a bar of vanilla and strawberry ice cream dipped in chocolate and covered in sprinkles—it was also ridiculously expensive for ice cream. But since Cloud was treating her, Yuffie was going to milk it for all it was worth! She dug happily into her frozen treat right as Cloud asked about the battle below, and she sighed.

"It was kind of a mess," Yuffie admitted. "They seemed to be totally together at the start; had a strategy meeting and everything! At first the battle went pretty well; they were working together, and they actually put those strategies into use. We got most of the Heartless and some of those weird Geist-thingies whooped, then something happened. I didn't see what, but they—the Earthlings, I mean—kind of started to fall apart. I mean there was this black tower thingy that erupted out of the ground, I saw that, but that didn't cause the crazy, it was something else. Kyle and Bobbi were trying to do something, I think. I dunno, I was too far away and I don't have one of those charm-thingies to talk to them, I just saw them together and that's about when all the crazy from the kids started. Anyway, someone pulled this huge twister thingy and, like, totally wiped out the Heartless army. Then the group split up, and those of us who stayed in the city mopped up. I dunno what happened to the others after that, though." She shrugged and took a few more bites of her ice cream.
