Elemental Draconis Shiny Gligar Christ when I was five I was reading at a grade four level. He's six years old and can't tell boat from water.
Water wasn't even a ******** word on the page, it was only bee, boat, bear and bus.
He's not even trying to memorize the meaning of the word. He looks at the picture. Why do I have to help my brother reading? He sucks at it! D:
There was a book, and every page is, 'The ___ gets the food'. I covered up the picture of the cat so the dog was showing, but the line was still 'The cat gets the food', and he said dog. -_-
Isn't that what reading pretty much is? The recognization of symbols and remembering what they mean?
Least he knows letters and numbers. Barely. Bring out a treadlly hard book with no pictures!
No, that's just mean.
I wouldn't use picture books though. Or I would write my own sentences for him to read.
Anyway... That sucks.
Yeah, it's bullshit. She gets mad at me because I stopped doing it because he couldn't be assed to read a couple four-three lettered words.
