once Tiana gets on: I was going to get sayazuki(*hopes thats spelled right...*) but they only had 5 and 6 of the mangas. Gah, and here I thought I'd talked about Saiyuki enough to help avoid such drastic misspelling.

gonk I hate it when I cant sleep at night.. I went to bed at 12 (midnight) and tossed and turned and saw the clock go past 5am.. woke up again at 6am.. tossed until now.. im supposed to leave the house in an hour but im just too tired to drive anywhere sweatdrop And its all because my throat is itchy like hell and irritating me crying
*makes a phone call, writes an email, and crawls back into bed for hopefully another hour or so more sleep*

lizstar Meri!! I love those Chii edits in your sig!! So pretty and cute!! Everytime I see that OTS edit I love it even more! 3nodding
Momo is peach. Ume is plum. Sumomo sounds like it means pickled peach to me (literally vinegar peach), but I couldn't say for sure unless I saw the kanji for it. Japanese is a little bit funny in that the sound of certain characters changes depending on whether they're put together with other words.
Aka = red.
Shiro = white.
Kawa = river.
Kohakugawa = red and white river (remember this from "Spirited Away?").
See? ^^; The characters for red, white, and river do not change. But when you put them together with each other, their pronounciation changes drastically.xuvrette By the way, Meri, do you have the front view of Freya's dress? LadyDelaidra Oh Meri, how you torture us! gonk

Meave: I designed the dresses for the currently available Chobits dolls myself. If you look, you'll see that except for color, they're dressed identically.

"Chobitto" is Japanese for "a little bit," and if you use it in a slangy sort of manner it becomes "Chobits," which can mean "little bits." The manga is about Persocoms, which are humanoid computers. There are life-sized ones which are basically androids and "laptops" which are small enough to sit in your hand. Chii (and Dark Chii) are life-size persocoms, and the manga's storyline is about memory-challenged Chii and the young man who finds her in a trash dump one day.
It's sort of questionable. ^^; I mean...I paged through the first few pages and then threw it back onto the book rack before running away. There's full frontal nudity and her on-off switch is her cervix. Not my cup of tea, even if the artwork is pretty.
Unknown Variable: It's mostly memorization rather than rule-obeying, so just...take lots of notes, review like there's no tomorrow, and do mnemonic exercises. ^^; The vowels are pronounced pretty much the same as in Spanish. The ra-ri-ru-re-ro sound is neither R nor L.
When you make an R sound, the sides of your tongue press up against your molars, and the tip of your tongue stays free. When you make an L sound, the tip of your tongue pressed against the back of your front teeth and the sides of your tongue stay free. When you make a Japanese ra sound, you start out as if you are going make an English R, but you use the tip of your tongue to make the sound, just like an English L, but keeping the sides of your tongue in place. So it's a hybrid R-L sound.
