-I agree that writing is art, and the literacy system is bullshit. The only reason I even use it is mostly because of it being hard-wired into my brain since I wrote my first ever role play in neopets in the beginning of my sixth-grade year, and because I want to protect my babies from Barton Town. I'm always glad of somebody who joins, whether they can write a novel or a just a simple five sentence paragraph, but if I see a one-liner it goes from "art" to a complete mockery and disgrace to every written story since the written language began.

I think the argument can be settled by saying that, in normal writing, one-liners are perfectly acceptable and important in their own way, while in role playing they are typically counter-productive and detract from the experience.

Everything has its niche. Barton rps are more character-centric and focus on the interaction between the characters. It moves faster and the characters can carry on entire conversations in the time it takes any of us to grind out a single post. Not only that, but Barton is absolutely saturated with rps. They can't really afford to alienate that 98% of folks who are either unable or unwilling to write up several paragraphs for every reply.
That said, I can't defend ALL users of the one-liner. Just saying, there can be a good cause for it and it CAN be acceptable sometimes.

Yeah, I kept clock and karla up till nearly 7. Veg is a machine. Then I sent karla to work two hours later... because bitches need to make me dat money!

I finally joined a role play in Barton Town. It feels weird. O.o
I have forty-eight hours to make my profile, and you can bet I'm going to take the time. The only problem I already foresee in this is I used my Kingdom post as an RP sample, and in my search I even said I was relaxed role player and made grammatical mistakes but the b***h said that "I had to watch my grammatical mistakes.".....I hate when people don't read my s**t. > neutral

She wants to exert power over you. Grammar nazis are dumb.its one thing to want oneself to have perfect spelling and grammar. Its something else entirely to actually tell someone they need to as well, or they cant associate with you.

Okay..... Out of the over twenty people in this guild, I would think that more than three would drop in and say hi..... Those three including myself...
